We have stayed at this hotel several times. Although we were satisfied with our stay and the hotel itself there are minor signs of wear and tear that need to be addressed before they get overwhelming for management and/or owners. Despite saying this we would definitely return as things did not adversely affect our stay .
Wow.... what a beautiful display. I love fireworks. We went to watch them in North Bay and what a display " we were sooo close we could feel the thunder under our feet". Perfect evening. Parking was adequate and everyone enjoyed themselves. The town really out did themselves for the 150 anniversary.
Staff have been very accommodating and pleasant. We are very pleased that you serve a continental breakfast. It makes it so much easier to continue our trip the next day. The location is very easy to access.
Very friendly staff at check in and at breakfast . The staff made sure we had coffee to go with us for our drive home ……terrific . Pet friendly room worked out well. It was close to the exit for our dog to do her buisneess .
Despite being a dated hotel, the management of this place have invested in various updates over the years. Far enough to be away from the core of the city but a short drive to get there. Stayed mid week and surprised to see how busy this place was even before the May 24 long weekend. Staff are friendly and hard working to be the customer needs of their hotel guests. Breakfast is comparable to their competitors in the hotel industry. My wife and I are prepared to stay here again on our next potential visit to North Bay, Ontario. Hotel stay is under one hundred dollars per night and reason if one is staying for severall nights!
The room I had was a little quaint. Liked the exposed brick walls. The room was freezing and took forever to warm up, which made the night a bit uncomfortable. Some of the info in the in-room binder is obsolete. E.g. the room service section says you can order from East Side Marios and it gets charged to the room, both the hotel desk and East Side Marios staff was confused about this deal.
2 night stay at this hotel. Very friendly staff. Very clean and quiet. Nice pine accents like room doors and hallway railings. Rooms are comfortable and include microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Free wifi worked very good. Cable TV. King-sized bed was very comfortable. Good sized bathroom. Free breakfast included (tea, coffee, juice, milk, toast, bagels, waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal and yogurt).
Aside from internet being very slow eventhough they advertise high speed my stay at the hotel was good.
Clean, mostly modern, comfortable, good location particularly in the summer. Mattress getting a little long in the tooth and the internet is very slow. Very minor issues...
Customer service was very poor and unorganized. After driving for 6 hours, my boyfriend stopped in for the night with an employee voucher. He was told by the evening shift clerk that he had never seen this type of voucher before and to go back in the morning to receive his discount. Upon arriving at the front desk, the manager then told him that they didn't accept this discount and he would have to pay full price. I guarantee if it was a regular guest who had walked in, they would have been willing to offer some sort of discount because obviously he would not have stayed here had he been informed that his voucher wouldn't be accepted. Once approached with the issue, the manager became very rude and snappy. Definitely a lack of communication amongst staff and management and we one hundred percent won't be booking here again. Being that I use the same system as them on a daily basis, I know how easy it would have been for them to comply and still offer the rate that he was expecting to pay. Wether it be a regular guest, or an employee of another wyndham hotel, we're still talking about a paying customer and the customer should always leave satisfied. I can honestly say that I've never had this kind of issue at any other hotel, obviously these folks are just out to make money and don't put a lot of thought into guest satisfaction.
