Nice staff, good room, excellent breakfast. Lots of choices for breakfast, good food. Stayed two nights, quiet neighborhood. close to museums, restaurants and interstate highways. Staff was helpful, responsive and pleasant
The hotel is nice enough and the workers are good. The rooms are a nice size with a small kitchen and a TV sitting area. The breakfast was basic but okay. It is near the highway so there is some road noise on one side. The down side here is a the lack of resturaunts and bars. There pretty much aren't any. It is not the best neighborhood in town. You can drive to Independece Blvd where there is a mall with some places. It is a ten minute drive. but, there is no place to walk to which is strange since there are a number of hotels in the area.
Booked this at the end of a week in the US on a business trip because it was close to the airport and 15 minute utensils drive from beachfront. Good service and staff very helpful. The hot and cold water taps in bathroom and shower were reversed leading to confusion and some cold washes initially - can't believe this hasn't been reported before but the staff did their best to try and sort it out. Breakfast basic but OK. WiFi reception was the best I got through the whole trip and it was free.11
Great place to stay. Clean, comfortable rooms, friendly front office staff. Very convenient to many places in Virgnia Beach even though it is primarily a temporary living place. We stayed for just one night and it was still nice to stay anyway. This would have been a fie star review but for the breakfast room in the morning. It could be cleaned every now and then a bit more. The tables were icky and sticky and the floor had cereal strewn on the carpet. Just minor things but if this is addressed would be a 5 star place to stay!
Nothing great to say but a little bit of love could go a long way. Seems like housekeeping could do a little more (what's on the bathroom door? Why is there black grease on the shower curtain? Do yo call that tub clean? Packing tape over the air vent? Have they EVER cleaned the exhaust fan?). See my pictures for a better understanding. I had a fly in my room that was annoying! The hairdryer smelled like it was going to catch fire and was literally dyeing as I was trying to get ready. Internet service - upgrades are supposed to be free for Marriott gold members but that setting didn't work!
The staff is great the rooms are nice but to keep price down this is a no frills hotel. Pillow and breakfast. We use it for business and it is great. I do see a lot of families there so it must be great for that as well. We use this chain in other areas and have noticed a significant reduction in what I would call the extras. But if you need a place to sleep that's clean for a great price this is your place.
This will probably be the last time we stay at a Marriott property. It seems they sell their franchises, and take a hands-off approach to quality control. Concerning this property, I must say first of all that I met with the manager the first day we stayed there, and she went out of her way to be friendly and helpful, and to make sure that we were comfortable and happy. Once she left, however, everything went downhill. The "Hot breakfast" featured chaffing dishes with nothing in them. I asked the dining area attendant whether there would soon be more eggs and sausage. Her reply was a rather condescending, "They're cooking!". This event repeated for three mornings in a row. On our second day (of a total of three) I asked at 9:00 for our room to be made up, as we had not seen housekeeping all morning. I was told that if I wanted housekeeping service, I had to take the "Do Not Disturb" sign off of my door. (It was NOT on the door!) We returned to our room in the afternoon to find the bed unmade, and wet towels still on the floor. I went to the desk to ask whether our room would be attended. I was told by the person at the desk (who was rather preoccupied with her smart phone) that they were short staffed, and that she would have to check with the housekeeper whether she could get to it. I became somewhat irate, and asked, "Is my room going to be made up, or not?" Again, she replied, "I'll check with housekeeping." I went to the desk for a THIRD TIME to demand that my room be made up, and received the same response, "We are short staffed. I'll have to check with housekeeping." I was rather angry at this point and told her, "I don't care about your excuses, go hire someone if you have to, or make this a free night since you're unable to provide the service we're paying for!" Our room was cleaned and made up, and towels were replaced at 5:00 PM!!! Breakfast the next morning, as expected, was missing in action. Unfortunately, this poor customer service attitude seems to be prevalent among franchised Marriott properties. We have been Marriott Points members for years, and have decided not to continue. Motel 6 provides more attentive and courteous service!
My fiance and I had a get away and stayed here for 2 nights. Not sure of the girl who checked me in but she was very nice. We even arrived early and she made sure to accomodate us. I loved the layout of the room and it was very quiet. I use to work at TownePlace Suites so our layout was different. The one thing I didn't too much care for was breakfast. Although we had a kitchen in the room(which we did use) our first morning we decided to try breakfast out, just wasn't what I expected. Other than that I have no complaints everyone was very nice
I haven't stayed at one of these facilities in a while and this was my first time here at this one, but it was a pleasant stay. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The check in process was painless and quick. The lobby and area to meet was on the small side but, it was nice and clean. The pool is right when you walk in which was kind of odd and it was kind of small as well but I was there for the beach so I didn't really mind. The room was cute, clean, and perfect for what we needed. The location was not perfect but it wasn't horrible either. There were places to grab a quick bit to eat nearby and the beach was not to far away
Never again will I go to a towneplace suites, they accused me of smoking in my room, charge me a fine, didnt give me a appropriate rate and charged my cars without consent, will not be going back here and that employee tracy or tracie, you are very rude and its employees like you that are the reason people dont get the respect they deserve your customer service skills are not on par.
