one night stay

Everyone

Our family stayed at the hotel for one night, all I can say is I’m glad we had to stay be night. As frequent traveler, I can truly say it the lowest rating I’ve ever given a hotel. Aside from the conditions of the hotel, the staff was absolutely the worst I’ve ever encountered. In my opinion based on what I witnessed, the staffs goal was to find any reason not to check you in vs ensuring that you were able to experience peaceful night of comfort and sleep. I visited the front desk a few times and each time their was a quest or potential quest working to resolve an issue with their stay. The demeanor of the staff was terrible and the quest issues didn’t seem to be resolved. It was as if the staff took pleasure saying no.

wonderful front desk staff.

At the last minute we had to add a day to our reservation. They were so kind and helpful in doing this. We have stayed here many times before flying out of the Norfolk Airport. They are always nice, kind, helpful and the breakfast is amazing. I recommend them to everyone.

pleasing stay

Everyone

Room was clean and beds were comfortable. The room and hotel were a bit tired looking and there was construction near by but it was quiet. The restaurant also looked uninspiring but the prime rib I had was very good and the wine was good too. Service there and at the front desk was friendly and competent. The shuttle to the airport was great...right on time and I was the only passenger. Overall, a very pleasant stay and I look forward to my next stay there, next month.

good from far. far from good

The smell was the main thing. As soon as you walk i. The building it almost knocks u down. I believe they are using a chemical cover sent to mask the mold issues. Despite the smell staff was nice. Paper thin walls allow u to hear every detail of you neighbors stay. I just cranked the AC as low as possible to drown out the sound of the neighbors tv which sounded like it was in my room.

you cannot 'sleep in' at the sleep inn

Everyone

The room has some sort of plumbing issue where every ten minutes there would be pipes rattling in the wall for a couple seconds. ALL NIGHT! Mentioning this the the desk clerk on checkout and the response was, 'ugh'. Like, So? What did you expect, peace and quiet at a hotel called the Sleep Inn?

The clerk at the front desk was not friendly. She was abrupt and did not appear to be engaged. She also seemed annoyed when I asked her questions.

seems to be going slowly dowhill

I have visited this hotel about a half dozen times over the past ten years or so and each time the experience seems to be less satisfying than the last. The property is not well cared for and it is obvious even from just driving into their parking lot that they are not interested in holding on to standards they held in earlier years. The entire faucet in the room wobbled whenever I turned the water on or off, the mattresses seemed to have outlived its usefulness and the hallways were warm and stuffy. I stayed two nights and both nights were interrupted with noisey adults and kids - granted, this was not the fault of the hotel but it seemed like the way this place is going downhill it is attracting that type of crowd. I left my room at 10:00 One morning and when I returned about 13 hours later the room was clean but the door had been left cracked open by the cleaning staff. This will a my last visit to this hotel.

great place

I'm an advid review researcher so I was reading everything. I came across this one and it looked good on the internet. Well it was just as good on the internet as it was in person. Staff was very friendly. The breakfast in the morning was more than I expected, and I liked how you had the choice to eat dinner (not free but available) so you wouldn't have to leave for the night. The room was decent and I haven't slept in a comfortable hotel bed in a long time. Even thought they didn't have a tub they made up for it with a huge shower. I came to look at apartments since I will be moving within the area and my mother (who had shoulder surgery the day prior to the trip) we had no complaints and they were very accommodating. My trip went very well.
