Good Hotel to stay at. Room was very clean, breakfast was great, people at desk were friendly. Plenty of parking. Also the drive to Ocean Front is about 10-15 minutes, and about 20 minutes to the Aquarium. Also there's plenty restaurants around the area, drive like 2 miles and you're getting to downtown where there's a mall and a cheesecake factory.
Had a terrible experience! The only nice staff member was Lisa at the front desk. We went out to dinner and a comedy show and when we got back there were multiple COCKROACHES in our room all over. We were so freaked out that we quickly packed up our things and left and had to book another room somewhere else. When I asked for our money back the manager April said the best they could do was give us 20% off our total bill. 20% off for a room we did not stay in and had COCKROACHES in it!!! Couldn't be more disgusted with the way the manager April handled the situation. She was rude and completely unprofessional. I wouldn't waste your money and stay here! I am now filing a dispute with my credit card company to get my money back! Thank god I used a credit card and not my actual debit card/ cash.
We stayed a Saturday night in July, just to make it easier on attending a concert at the amphitheater. Check in was super quick. Plenty of parking. Pleasantly surprised by how nice the room was. Super comfy beds with lots of pillows. Nothing super fancy, but the folks bashing this place had me worried. It may be dated, but the AC ran super cold and had all we needed for one night. 10 minute drive to Chick's for dinner. About 15 to the amphitheater. Would stay again. Especially if you like budget hotels!!
Ok first let me say i'm not rich or trying to speak badly about a motel but I have to keep it real for future people who travel. I booked this motel, yes its a motel because the price for Virginia beach was really good. Its about 25 minutes from all the action at Virginia beach which is very nice but it comes with its draw backs.... First, the room was clean besides the first night we had a roach crawling on our wall, which we think is due to the front door not being completely sealed. Second is the bed/pillows. The bed was a rock and the pillows where so small it was ridiculous. I had to prop two together to even get them to feel like a real pillow. Third was the breakfast...make no mistake its no hot breakfast...if you like generic cereal and a waffle maker your in...but don't think your eating a filling meal. Lastly and maybe the worst was the people this motel attracted. I don't want to be mean but every night at 2:30 am. -we where woken up with people fighting or loudness in general. Night one there was a fight and the police where called, night two another domestic fight at 2 am. and night three two biker guys decided to ride and back up their Harley Davidson's twice into a parking spot right out front of our room at 2:30 am. it was SO LOUD!! They then preceded to talk very loudly so much so I had to get out of bed and ask them to stop. I understand the motel doesn't control who they give rooms to but I think you need to consider where your staying before you go...Bottom line, its cheap, needs TLC, and your sleep might be in question. Thinks before your reserve... I needed to share my experience..don't want to trash anyone, but truth is truth.
Stayed here 3 Jun 17 room 123 This is a standard low budget Choice hotel with a nice little pool Don't expect much more then what you paid for. A mostly clean dated property to spend the night in. The price was reasonable for this area and the bed was for most part comfortable. I did find a rather large deceased nasty looking cricket on the bathroom floor. Better dead then alive in the bed
Not good, but not the worst. Cheap motel. Needs updating. When we walked into the lobby to check in, we were greeted by a 1" thick bullet proof glass system that separated us from the receptionist. It's not a very welcoming feature and it definitely didn't make us feel safe at your motel. You can hear everything from outside, so when you're trying to sleep in, you can't because others are slamming doors and yelling/talking with one another. Location is ok. It's close to some bars and things on Chic's beach, but not within walking distance. Probably would not stay here again.
I stayed here because I wanted to be close to the Joint Expeditionary Base and in the Choice Hotel website it had 4 stars. That was very deceptive. This is an old motel, very much in need of upgrades. They didn't even have the usual eggs and meat for breakfast, just waffles and continental breakfast. The bathroom is so tiny you can't turn around. And the sink is not in the bathroom it's in the main room. The pillows were nasty and lumpy. Although the bed was fairly comfortable. I will say that it was clean and not the worst place I've ever stayed. But I won't be back again. It's not your typical quality inn and certainly not up to the usual standards for a quality inn.
I booked through Hotwire, so I didn't know what I would get. I did not view the pictures beforehand, so I was surprised to see it was setup more "motel-type" with outside doors. The front desk staff was very attentive and accommodating when I checked in (I had to use the restroom before continuing the check in process). The room was better than expected because I didn't know I was getting a kitchenette. The tv had a local tv listing too (a plus every hotel should have). The bathroom was a little small, but ok for just me. The bed was comfy and expansive. The biggest downside was my noisy neighbors who chatted on the balcony until midnight and left the clothes hang to dry on the balcony as well. They even setup a folding chair and ashtray outside their room. That made my experience very skevy. Otherwise, I can't complain about the property.
We came to Va. Beach for a Labor Day weekend getaway and a concert at the Ampitheator. What we didn't want was tropical storm Hermine met us there! Arrived late ( 1:30 am ) and was checked in. Nice little efficiency room! Full size fridge, little stove & microwave! It's only about 14 miles to the main beach or strip there in Va. Beach, but it's basically across the street from a nice beach! You really can't walk to the beach but we drove about 2 miles to a great beach. It's located on Shore Drive which has all kinds of restaurants and little bars and pubs all up the street. I'd like to give a special shout out to Lee or Leigh (I didn't ask her how to spell it) she was extra nice in taking care of us! If and when we go back to Va. Beach this is where we'll stay! Affordable!! Oh and if your going to a concert at the Veterans Home Loans Ampitheator it's 11 miles of easy nice road!
Pretty cool, better than I thought. The rooms were clean, enough parking spaces. Your room doesn't get made while you are gone even if you don't have a don't disturb sign. I am going to guess you have to request a room cleaning or the lady had other things to attend. Friendly staff. I would stay here again if I needed to in the future. Breakfast was great considering the many hotels I have stayed none serve breakfast but maybe coffee if that.
