Hotel is beautiful and near the beach,but too many people with dogs and the dogs were barking loud day and night.

Other than some renovations going on at the time, the hotel was a good place to stay. it was a quiet hotel

Overall our stay was good. The la quinta inn has nice newly renovated rooms that look great and are comforting. We did lose power though a neighborhood issue not a hotel issue. It was back on within 4hrs. Lots of animals wondering the hotel. Some so large and being walked by children that they would not be able to stop their animal if it decided to snap at a fellow guest walking by. The only major complaints is that we were not made aware of online or told on the phone when i called that the indoor pool was closed down for renovations. And online they advertise two prices on orbitz atleast the same room for a price difference of 50$. With or without parking. Which is a bit shady because upon calling guest services at the inn the desk person told me 1 parking pass is gauranteed for 1 car per room. Otherwise we enjoyed the la quinta. Its a nice place and location with plenty near by.

Our stay was great. My kids love it and we was very comfortable.

I originally booked the room for 4 days, but I enjoyed Virginia Beach so much and the hotel so very conveniently located (very walkable) that I stayed for 3 more days! It's really great that there is no additional pet fee at this hotel. That made it possible for me to afford the extra stay.

Lobby was dirty and smelled like dog urine. The check in guy Alex was nice and helpful. The hotel is under renovation which is fine. But the elevators were dusty,dirty and rickety. The hall and room was better which had new carpet and nice decor. The bed was hard which also had dog hair and human hair on the sheets. Also there was a huge Barbie pin on the table which was not mine.The bathroom was fairly small. Also the toilet seat was not on properly which me and my guest almost fell off of. Also the walls are very thin guests beside us complained that we were talking. Security was sent up to our room about the complaint and told us that this was our first and final warning and that we would be asked to leave if we continued. However security states they couldn’t hear any noise coming from our room which didn’t make sense about the warning. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO ANY LAQUITA HOTELS IN THE FUTURE!!!

I was not really happy with all the dogs staying at this hotel. Many BIG dogs ...and I love dogs. This fact needs to be shared publicly ..bring all your dogs, as many as you have and no size limits. To my friends who travel with dogs, I would highly recommend, for those who don't. ...I would share this and let them decide. Our room was very nice and clean, that is my top priority.

Any request that we had the front desk staff was right on it and they were very friendly and professional. . . House keeping was another story. They never changed our sheets the whole time we stayed. The sheets were full of sand. The one time that we got new sheets we had to put them on ourselves and it took them over a day to pick up the dirty ones in the hallway. We had to call the front desk for new towels. House keeping never cleaned our toilet or our shower that had sand all over the bottom of it. The one time that they were in our room, the only thing they did was leave new towels and take the garbage. The floors had sand all over them. We had to ask the front desk for more coffee and toilet paper. We had taken the do not disturb sign down everyday that we stayed and we were gone most of the day. There is no excuse for house keeping. We will never stay at another la quinta.

Good location. 2 blocks off the oceanfront. Room was ok. Pretty standard mid range hotel room. Small outdoor pool. Fitness room only has 3 machines. Breakfast hours are 6-9am Mon-Fri and 7-10am on the weekend. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Everything perfect--only a stopover on way to rest of trip

My first time traveling to Virginia Beach was very interesting , Saturday night it was a black out without any explanation.I wanted to go somewhere that had nice views.....Sorry that chose the Laquita Inn .

We had a great experience at La Quinta when we went to VA Beach for a wedding in December. It is "Bring Fido" approved, & I'm pretty sure everyone there had brought their dog. No extra surcharge for that either! Nor dog size limits. Not sure about number of dogs but we did see people with a couple in their room. As far as the room, we had a great stay in a clean facility with the necessary amenities (microfridge!). Very clean front desk area & from who we met a friendly staff. We would definitely stay again & recommend to others. I also liked the cancellation policy as we saw the rates had dropped from our original booking & cancelled/rebooked within the 24hr deadline & saved $$$ (almost a whole night). We used that savings at the pizza place (Chicho's) & irish pub (Murphy's) down the road.

The lobby and other common areas were not very clean. The rooms were ok, but need to be updated. Free parking is a great asset. Breakfast is included but does not have hot food, and it is very limited.

I checked in for four nights, but I checked out as soon as I could find other accommodations. The property is run down, the staff seemed tired and unhappy, the breakfast was spartan at best, and it was overall highly unpleasant. I will never risk staying at a La Quinta again.

While traveling with both an infant and a older dog with a bad hip, we arrived very late to check in and were told that we were booked in a 2nd floor room. The thought of carrying all that an infant and a dog need through the hotel and then into an elevator (which of course, the dog is afraid of!) was too much! Cheryl, who was working the night desk, took the time to rearrange the current bookings to get us an easier to get to room on the first floor that would also make it much easier for our dog with a bad hip and a fear of elevators! The dog friendliness of this hotel is not exaggerated and their people friendliness is equal to it! :)

Great value for the price. Hotel is close to the beach and well kept.

This hotel was excellent, especially for the price!!! We went when it was too cold to visit the beach, but the indoor pool helped make it feel like a it was still a vacation! I could not find any other hotels this close to the beach with an indoor pool for anywhere close to the price we payed to stay here! It's also only one block from the beach so it's within walking distance! Staff was super friendly and the rooms were very clean and well kept! I will definitely go back to this hotel if I am in this area again!!!

easy walk to the beach ....
