We really enjoyed our time here. Staff was very welcoming even just walking around the site they were engaging and friendly. Pool area was the BEST. Water was super clean and warm, By far the best part of hotel. Beds were hard and pillows need updated but overall great place to stay.

There was a Masonic convention and there were several on out floor and the noise was horrible from 12-4am it was out of control the swearing and doors slamming I was appalled at the language.... I got absolutely no sleep I told front desk all they said was sorry.... like it was nothing fidmy even try to address it

We were so impressed, kids had a blast, we'll be back next year.

I had a little hiccup during my stay. It was resolved quickly and fairly by the hotel manager. The hotel is in a great location, it has great indore activities. It gives you plenty to do if you are visiting during off-season. The movie Theatre there a great addition of you are staying with kids. I would recommend anyone staying with young kids to strongly consider staying here. The over all experience was great.

The good at the square whale restaurant on the premises of the hotel was terrible.

This was our second time in Virginia Beach. We were there at the beginning of June 2015. The pools alone were worth it. We have 2 boys (9 and 12). They loved all the pools and it was great being able to move around. There wasn't a problem finding seats. This hotel is at the end of the boardwalk which makes it kinda nice because it's not overcrowded in this area. The beach is very nice and well kept and we never had a problem getting a nice spot on the beach. Looking further to the south (by Hilton) it was so crowded, there were people everywhere. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel. However, you are close enough that you could walk to restaurants and shops. We bought a bus pas for 3 days thinking we would get a lot of use out of it, but we didn't. Looking back...I wish we would have just paid for 1 bus trip to the other end of town and back. Once we went there, we had no desire to go back. We aren't into the bar scene. We enjoyed just hanging by the pool and beach with occasional walks to the restaurant down the road. The pizzeria restaurant was GREAT. I give the staff a 3. Not because we had any type of bad experience, but because they were just ok. Nothing bad, but nothing great. Room was great. We had 2 queen size beds in one room with a joining kitchen/family room area. Balconies in both the bedroom and also the family room. Great place to stay with kids.

Room was nice but only had a sofa and a office chair. A recliner or a nice arm chair would have made it much better. Parking is also an issue.

I had a great time staff was great good food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I were in Virginia Beach for a conference and wanted to avoid the crowds and noise of most of the beach area. The Holiday Inn North far exceeded our expectations and was a very relaxing break. The ocean view was terrific and the suite was a perfect set-up for casual meals and wine at the end of the day.

Great, but the staff was lacking in response to our needs...

From the start to the end this place is AMAZING!! There is so much to do. There is an awesome pool (3) if you stay during the summer, family movie theater, play room & pet tortoises. The rooms were super clean the lady who took care of the tortoises even makes hats for every season for them to wear. Best staff ever!!!!

THe stay was good, nice pools. The front desk lady refused me a new parking pass, she probably didn't believe I really lost the first one. I had to argue I payed for a suite not the standard room they wanted to give me thanks to...

This was the best vacation that I've ever been on. We had a wonderful hotel stay, the room was very clean and spacious. The staff was very helpful with any questions or directions we needed. Our room was #211 oceanfront and it was the best view into the ocean that the family had ever experienced. The pools were very clean and the lazy rivers were perfect for the kids. The food at the restaurants in the hotel is amazing. I would recommend this hotel to ANYONE!!!! Thanks, Anthony

Everything was great. I don't have a family, but if you do, there is ton's of stuff to do. Waterslide, lazy river, indoor pool, outdoor pool, theater, etc. Room was huge. Location was great, right on the oceanfront/boardwalk. I would have given it 5 stars, but I save that for over and beyond.

My 15 y/o daughter & her BFF & I finished our 3 day trip in Va Bch @ the Holiday Inn on the beach & we felt like rock stars! I was sooo happy to see my daughter & her BFF's expressions & screams as they came into our 3rd floor room w/ a balcony view of the beach. Truth be told, we stayed the 1st 2 nights at a Motel 6 on Military Hwy because their Dad (me) was trying to save $$. Since they didn't complain about our stay there, I rewarded them w/ our high class final night @ the beachfront Holiday Inn on 39th st Va Bch!!! They were overwhelmed with our room! the balcony! even how the towel in the bathroom was formed into a bird!! I was so proud of myself for rewarding them & everything about our final night was amazing. The staff, the indoor & outdoor pools, the really cool look & pastel color of the hotel, the queen beds, how clean & fresh and new everything seemed & I was able to see my daughter & BFF on the beach from our balcony!! Priceless indeed:)))

I have stayed at bad beach hotels before, so I made sure I did my research before I booked this hotel. Overall, I was very satisfied with my trip. The hotel is clean and the rooms don't have that sticky beach feel that some do. The pools were also very nice. We had a 9 year old with us, and he loved the many pools and activities. The main pool by the ocean got good sun for me to work on my tan during the day. The pool bar and restaurant offered tasty food and a nice selection. The back pool was fun with the water slide for the kids and lazy river. The indoor pool would have been great for rainy days or to escape the heat. The beach was just steps away- so great variety. The only negatives were that it would have been nice to have a little more hustle and bustle of the strip closer by, but it was just a short walk away (or we chose to drive down to the other end and walk around). Also, some days they didn't come around to clean the rooms until pretty late in the day which is when we were ready to be out of the sun and getting ready for dinner and such.

Unfortunately, I have to give this hotel a less than favorable review due to the staff. Great location and lots of activities available for the kids as well. But my room was not cleaned even after 2 requests and despite the fact we were out of the room from 10am to 1pm and then from 1:30pm to 5:30pm. Pool was dirty, water park area was dirty. No lifeguards. I arrived at 3:50 to check in for a 4pm check-in and room was not ready until close to 5pm. Not too fun with a 2 year old and paying $530 a night. Will not return, would not recommend. Could be so much better with better management, great location and nice facilities.

This hotel was perfect for those traveling with kids. While they had many ammenities that we could have used, we couldn't get our kids out of the 3 pools they had. Overall, a GREAT place to stay if you have children.

This hotel was perfect. It had perfect location, staff was amazing also the local food was awesome and overall a great place to have a vacation.

I loved the location in north VA beach! its a more quiet area on the strip. You are able to walk to most places or drive and park in the south end of the strip for only $5. The pools were a bit chilly in early june and there were kids in the hot tub. Drink prices at the pool were a bit pricey, about $10 per drink. Breakfast buffet was also a little pricey.($$expected on any beach vacation) The jet noise in VA beach is something you learn to live with but definitely don't get used to. I think this hotel is perfect for a family with children. If I were to return I would probably stay at this hotel again. Overall a great vacation spot!
