We always stay here if we bring our dog to visit family in the area. Great pet facility! The hotel is also very convenient to getting around Norfolk/Virginia Beach to see friends and family. Rooms are clean. Furniture and an TV is adequate, but not great. Pillows are excellent, tho!

Very neat and clean. I wish their was a tub I'm not a shower person. Great place for a get away. I was their to work. My room was to far away from parking lot. I know not everyone can park close to entrance. I had a carry bag everyday toget to my room. I would stay again if I was on vacation, but not to work

Clean rooms. Very nice. Big bathrooms. Staff were very friendly and professional. Close to the interstate. Grounds were kept up with incredibly well. It felt like a significantly higher priced hotel. If I'm in VA Beach again, I'm staying here.

On the go to a variety of spots in the Norfolk & Virginia Beach area. In and out early and late; Founders was perfect for our trip. Didn't use the spa, but it looked nice.

Food is outstanding, excellent. We loved everything.

The pathetic experience began in the hotel restaurant, where kitchen had such tasteless substandard food preparation. I ordered an appetizer which had over fried and burnt pita chips with a tasteless shrimp dipping sauce. I've no clue that they can keep such terrible cooks to manage kitchen in this hotel. The pizza was horrible and for an extra topping, they tossed some raw onions on top of my pizza. The meatloaf was so bad that even my dog will refuse to eat it. Rooms had filthy carpets. I wish I had taken pictures. The drapes were dragging on the floor that could make guests trip. Pillows were uncomfortable to use.

Founders Inn needs updating! The rooms are weary and my particular room had an odor of 'must.' There was no coffee pot in the room and I tried to call the front desk several times and never received a pick...sure am happy I disk' have an emergency!

The hotel's restaurant was closed upon my arrival, although it should have been open. The staff informed me it had closed early because it was slow. Unfortunately, most other restaurants in the area were also closed. When I was back in my room, the hotel security stopped by to drop off a batch of chicken wings and fries. The staff had went to the kitchen to have something specially prepared for me. What a great, unexpected, and welcome surprise! However, the room I was given was clearly worn. The edges of the room were very dusty, the plumbing had several drips, and the shower curtain was torn and mildewy. I was given a complimentary breakfast for my trouble. The breakfast was very good. I do not think I will stay here again.

The hotel and grounds were decorated for the Christmas Holidays and was just absolutely beautiful. The room was quiet and very nice. All staff members were very professional and friendly.

The hotel was alright. The rooms felt really outdated and dirty. You could see stains on the carpet and dust everywhere. The bed caused my to break out in hives, probably due to the dust and feather pillows. When I notified the front desk, it took about 20 minutes to get a new pillow. I was there with a huge wedding party. I paid extra to get the breakfast. When I went to get breakfast while getting hair and makeup done, no one was working the host stand. I walked in and looked around then proceeded to get my breakfast, I was then followed up to the hair and makeup room and was accused of stealing food without being first asked if I paid for breakfast. It was overall a pretty awful visit.

I have five kids and we stayed in a double bed room with a roll out bed comfortably. The staff was super nice and the grounds were beautiful. They had weddings everyday we were there and was nice to watch. It was cold outside but my kids were able to swim in an indoor pool and they had nice restaurants in the hotel. My daughter left a stuffed animal and we called that night we got home and they shipped it first thing to us. Ive been in the military for 11 years and travel like crazy, this hotel had the most professional and nicest staff hands down.

We booked a 3 night stay at Founder's Inn 2 hours before we checked in. The rate was great and we were able to add a 4th night. The front desk personnel went above and beyond providing us with assistance in upgrading our room when we realized we needed an extra bed. Everyone we encountered at the Founder's Inn were pleasant and willing to help. The indoor and outdoor pools were great (definitely needed since the stay was during a trying time). The grounds were beautiful and very peaceful to stroll around. The food at both the Hunt Room and the Swan Grill was great. I would certainly recommend the Founder's Inn to anyone that needs to stay in the Viriginia Beach area,

The hotel was top notch. Indoor and outdoor pool with an inside jacuzzi. That felt great by the way! Very convivial . The only thing I have to say but the hotel had no control over were the wedding guests were using a very vulgar conversation due to being under the influence of alcohol around kids. The hotel charges an extra $25 for incidence security! Just for FYI but they are suppose to have reimbursed that after leaving the premises.

Pools were so much fun. My kids had a great time and we would definitely stay here again.

This was our 3rd stay at Founders Inn & Spa when taking a family trip to VA Beach. Love their freshly decorated rooms and their bathrooms are lovely!!! They have a great outdoor pool and we can still enjoy the beach without paying the high costs of an oceanfront hotel and the worry of ending up with an outdated & musty expensive room. The only thing that would be a big plus would be to extend their free coffee service past 8am on the weekdays and maybe provide free breakfast

Pool is the best! The peaceful walk in the gardens always make it extra relaxing. The staff is friendly and helpful. Room was immaculate and comfortable.

Everything was perfect. Loved the lighted magnifying mirror. I know it was a little thing, but just was so awesome to have the little extras.

My wife and I only stayed for one night but we thoroughly enjoyed it. As a happy surprise when we arrived we were told that they had upgraded our room. Our room was spacious and comfy. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools. We didn't have a lot of interaction with the staff but just passing employees in the hallway they would always greet us. If you like to shower (I sure hope you do)then you are in luck, the shower was really nice. There's even a phone in the bathroom but I'm not sure why. We wished we could have stayed more than one night and we hope to return one day.

First time staying after numerous hotels on the va beach strip. This is a great place to relax and offers a free shuttle to the ocean front if you want to join the crowds.

Had to work for 3 days in Norfolk...stayed at Founder's Inn and absolutely loved it! Room was well cleaned and water bottles provided every night. Staff efficient and friendly. Grounds beautiful. Atmosphere almost heavenly...will stay here for sure in future!!
