Used for a business trip, I was charged again for the room upon arrival although the room was already paid for. I had to call to arrange a refund which took a few days to appear back in my bank account. Food in the hotel was not very good and was very expensive for a hotel. I had a pint of Cola from draught which was £4+ (can't remember the exact figure) which is absolutely OUTRAGEOUS. Wifi must be paid for unless you register at check-in. Staff very friendly. Room was spacious, shower head was faulty but done the job.
This is probably the best holiday inn that I have stayed in! Large spacious modern rooms that are very clean and have everything you need as a business traveller. The reception staff are excellent and really friendly! I will be staying here again, probably every time I am in Norwich!
I was pleasantly surprised by how good this hotel was. The check-in was very smooth with a very helpful young man receptionist. Our room was lovely, spacious and smart with a comfy 6 foot bed, even a pillow menu. We asked for more milk which was delivered within minutes. It was my first visit to a Holiday Inn but certainly won't be the last.
Comfortable, clean, friendly staff, easy to find and park. Handy for walking into the centre of town with supermarket and train station nearby. Has a bar, rooms are large, some with views of the pitch.
For a 3 star hotel this is very good. Our room was clean and well appointed, with very generous bed size. Staff were generally very polite. We stayed for 4 nights with a large group on a Rail Discoveries holiday. Breakfast was ok, but our evening meals were poor We chose from a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 3 desserts. They were uninspiring. Only the roast potatoes and roast turkey were good one evening. The proper menu looked a lot better. The hotel is 10 mins walk from the rail station and 20 mins into Norwich city centre.
Stayed for one night as attending sports event at UEA. Family room with 2 x double beds was good (not a sofa bed!). Buffet Breakfast the next morning (served 7am-11am) plentiful & hot. Staff all helpful & pleasant. Pleasant roomy bar area. Hotel located next to retail park (& huge Nike outlet store) & if you walk through it, on the other side is Odeon cinema & several restaurants. Plenty of people & good vibe on a Sunday evening. Parking at hotel £5.95 per night. This was very good value for a one night stay. Will return when back in Norwich.
A good place for a brief business visit but perhaps less ideal for a longer holiday stay. As two people over 70 we found the ground floor areas on the cold side frequently; especially the dining room. Some of the restaurant items were really excellent, especially the curries, but there was limited choice to cover a 7 night stay. The suite we had was simply and plainly furnished - we expect suites to be "grander". The coffee machine had no operating instructions that we could see. Indeed we also could not find the instructions for the air conditioning/heating controls but succeeded by trial&error. Ok for the price and convenient for visiting Norwich center.
Stayed here 2 nights for business staff were excellent throughout. Very good room with a clean bathroom the shower was a little bit temperamental on the temperature but was okay. Had in room service first night and it was very good and hot which doesn't normally happen plus didn't have to wait long for it. Great location walked into the city for a meal at Middletons grill restaurant.
From the moment you enter this hotel you can see and appreciate the bright, modern interiors. The entrance area is spacious with comfy seating and a bar and restaurant area. The reception you receive is warm and friendly and all staff greet you politely. The room was spacious, colourful and modern. The shower room was immaculate. We were offered the chance to upgrade at a small extra cost but declined. We ate in the restaurant and had a really good meal. Loved the pumpkin ravioli. Again, the staff were charming. There is a small gym. We didn't know till we arrived but you can get a free day pass to the Riverside Leisure complex with gym and pool. Internet is free if you are an IHG club member.
I have to say I was very well looked after here in the hotel all the staff were very friendly and could not do enough for you. The hotel looked onto Norwich FC ground and I also got to see a local game of football
