Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast good and always plenty,. For the price you pay you will not get a lot better. I attend meeting s once a month in Great Yarmouth and if not staying on our boat we always stay here. Dinner is not bad ither.
One night away in this perfectly clean, comfortable and very pleasant hotel and for the price we paid, who can complain! The room was warm and lovely and the bathroom very clean. The bed was comfy too. Right next to the pier so a perfect location to explore Great Yarmouth. Staff were lovely too, we thoroughly recommend.
I stayed here for one night with a mate as we had a night out in the town. Although parking was not garenteed, we got a space right outside of the hotel which was a bonus. We checked in very quickly within around 2 minutes, all information was given to us. We were on the ground floor, basically the other side of the reception office therefore very close to the main enterance and bar. The room was clean, it was basic however a little above average for a three star. Theres a kettle in the room, a hairdryer, a modern Samsung TV, USB charging dock and even had hot chocolate, tea bags sugar and milk in the room which was great. The room also had a wardrobe with hangers, plastic cups in the bathroom. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Heating was on at a comfortable temperature in the room, the only (minor) gripes of the room is that there was a small draft from the old windows, and the bathroom was a little dated however it was clean so that's the mian thing. The bar was good, if a little expensive for some drinks. We didn't use any of the services such as laundry or the restaurant so can't make a comment on those. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The lady in the bar was brilliant, had a really good chat with her and such a character! Overall we were pleastly surpised considering how much we paid. Good room, friendly staff and a good location and parking. The hotel was also very quiet.
On a whim my partner and I decided on a night at the seaside for his birthday. We read a few reviews of different hotels prior to booking and decided that this would be the best one to book (not to mention it was one of the few that doesn’t have shared bathrooms - bonus!) This hotel has mixed reviews so we weren’t totally sure what we were going to get, but we went with an open mind and really had nothing to worry about. At £29 for the night we had a comfy bed with clean sheets and room that, though was tired was also clean. I would get rid of the runner and cushions on the bed as they look tired and date the place. The linen underneath was clean and crisp. Downsides - having to give key back when you leave, I thought this was a thing of the past! Can’t comment on food or bar as we didn’t partake. Walls a bit thin. Woke at 6 hearing room next door shouting at each other- not the fault of the hotels However, cheap hotel in a good location. Some rooms may be worse than others but ours was absolutely fine.
What a great hotel good food clean rooms friendly staff who worked so hard to give us a fabulous old years night recommend this hotel to all. Great location reasonable price first time there booked to go back already
Stayed her for work. Think the rooms are hit and miss but I had a lovely room in the smaller part of the hotel, at the top of 2 flights of stairs. It was quiet and cosy. It's quaint and a bit chintzy - needs an update but it was clean and great value, with a good shower and bath and the staff were nice. We stayed up late propping up the bar and the bar man was so lovely and helpful - accommodating 30 of us! Location is great too and I slept really well.
Upon arrival, it looked promising. Bright reception, posh canopy. Sadly it kind of went down hill from there. The lady on reception was, curt, I think, wallowing through booking paperwork to check details as it was booked as line traveller but there was two of us. Prepayment of tomorrow's breakfast was required. Even if you weren't partaking. The room was small, adequate, but compact. TV, kettle all the usual bits. Clean bathroom. A small double bed, which quite frankly was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever experienced. Worn out wasn't the word. Paper thin, lumpy, sagging in the middle causing incredible roll together. It was not a good night's sleep. The shower over the bath was the first stop to try and get refreshed, but that was broken. Freezing cold only. So a splash and dash bath, at least there was a bath. Breakfast was....different. First question from the waiter, do you want anything from the kitchen? For £9.00 yes. No menu, no list, egg and bacon, or full English. No idea what was included, nothing. Stale croissants, that fell to powder, watery juice. Breakfast appeared from the kitchen, it was edible, but not £9.00 edible. Generally a disappointing stay, in a tired hotel, with lacklustre staff, and food.
On arrival we were greeted by a young girl on reception who was very friendly, she allowed us to check in early which was great! Went straight to the room (203) which was absolutely freezing cold and was nothing like the rooms shown on the hotel website,it was dated and basically stuck in the 80's.The heating was not on but did come on later, guess is it comes on a certain times which is not good when its freezing cold outside.....bathroom was massive SO never warmed up. Fan heater was supplied which helped. Furniture in the room was tatty! TV good though. Went off to visit family and was looking forward to a really nice shower when arriving back to find the mixer tape system was useless,I practically had to run around to get wet.Did report this straight away to the guy on reception who came up and said they do have a water pressure problem, next night was the same,no decent shower. Thought the breakfast was fair £9.00 per person, basically everything you could eat as it was a buffet style which included cereal, croissants & cooked.....just not hot enough. Parking was hit and miss, basically if there's a space outside its yours,if not I wouldn't have known where to park. It looks as if improvements have been made in the hotel, the bar looked nice but it was empty......think they have their priorities wrong,Money needs to be spent on the accommodation to get people to come back and stay again, guessing the bar has been done up because it is part of the wedding function set up to make money, hopefully it will be invested in to the rooms. Would NOT stay here again!
£24.99 for two steak meals and a bottle of red , worth a shot , so we went , a party of four ,booked a table for 8.00 and told the receptionist we were going to try the steak deal , we were seated and only had to wait 45 minutes for the wine to turn up ( actually it wasn't bad ) the waitress told us they had run out of sirloin steaks ( funny because we had booked and told them what we were after???) we told her this and she said "well we have run out of tomatoes as well" we asked to see someone in charge , out came the chef , and what a nice guy , he apologised offered us fillet steak , ok we agreed , steak was ok , hand cut chips were very nice , mushrooms were good , onion rings just a tad over done , but for £25 a pair you really cant complain , although I did , yes if you are at a loose end , give it a go
We used booking dot com to book a night at the Embassy and I phoned them the next day to confirm and all was good. A week before arrival Dave rang and said they had a booking error and they'd moved us to the Gable End hotel, over a mile from where we wanted to be. I requested they find somewhere closer and Dave rang the next day to say he'd got us a room at the Comfort, we took it because it was round the corner from the Embassy. OK so the staff are OK but the hotel is well dated 30+ years old fixtures and fittings! Our 8 year old grandson said as we entered the room. "we're only staying one night here aren't we"! All other recent comments are spot on really.
