Booked on booking.com for one night a good price for 2 adults and 3 kids and the ferry seperate without car from Gothenburg. Hotellrum ok with to rooms and 2 TV:s. No mini-bar/fridge. 2 days of bath fun for the kids; but the food inside the water-world was bad and no other foods allowed in the whole hotell.
We stayed at Family room #324 for one night. Two adults, a toddler and a preschool. The top bunk bed has a rail to stop a person from falling down so our preschooler could sleep there. The room was clean, so was the toilet. We were happy with the room. The indoor water park was perfect for our small children; they loved the place. And buffet breakfast was nice too. They didn't have salmon (something I always look forward to from Scandinavian breakfasts) but they had turkey ham.
I stayed for 3 weeks whilst working in the local area. The hotel is easy to find and has sufficient parking. Check in was easy and the staff are very polite and welcoming. Rooms are a good size and reasonably well equipped, well nearly! No kettle for making coffee or tea is a big let down. Heating was too high due to under floor heating and I spent the whole 3 weeks with my radiator off and the windows open! Ask for a higher floor. One bad point is the cleaning of rooms, I am not sure what the cleaning staff do, but I can tell you it is very little! Some days they came in, moved my pillows and didn't even empty the bin. Breakfast is very good but can be very overcrowded on weekends when lots of families visit the on site water park. Gym is ok but has plenty of space for more equipment to go in..hint hint! Wifi signal is ok but the first room I was in, it was terrible. As a business traveller, it's a must! I am due back in the area in 3 weeks, and I am unsure if I will stay there or perhaps try a different hotel. For families this is a good hotel and offers good value. For the business traveller, I am not too sure.
A beutiful hotel with nice staff and great pools. The breakfast was ok, but there was no fish for breakfast. We preffer a wider arrange of meat and fish at a hotel breakfast. The opening hours for the bar was not the same as stated on their website. There was a night club, but it was not open. The resturant menu in the room was not the same as the resturant used. All over a relaxing and nice stay, with a few drawbacks. I would recomabd this hotel for couples and families with kids, and gor they who enjoy a dip in the pool.
We went for a daytrip to Demark and decided to spend most of the day at the waterpark at Scandic the reef. It is a pirate/caribbean themed waterpark. We arrived in the morning, and I went in to get a parking voucher to put in the car. I paid for it when I paid for the tickets to tje waterpark. (If you are a guest at the hotel, the entry is free) 2 adults and 2 children(4&6) plus parking, added up to 390,-dkk (remember a coin is needed for the wardrobe. Deposit only) The waterpark has 1 main pool, and twice sn hour, a tropical storm occurs. Flashing blitz and sounds of thunder accompanies waves in the pool. Afterwards the light increases and birdsong gets you back to the tropical feeling. The pool also includes a pirate ship with watercannons. In addition, there is a pool were you c a n swim thru an opening and ends up outside. The circular pool has a powerful underwater wave that can let you either swim really fast, or try to beat the current. There is also a jacuzzi outside wich is really nice when it is cold outside. Inside there are several hot water jacuzzies, and some have dolphin sounds underneath the water. Upstairs you can find a deep pool for diving 3 meters deep. In addition there is a childrens area with a slide and cave. Parents can sit in a jacuzzi 3 meters away with a good view. There is also a big waterslide where it is required to use a raft. From ages 7 and up. There is also a steam/sauna with herbs in the steam. Very nice if you can get some time away from the kids. There is a bar opening at 12:00 where you can order lunch, drinks and snacks. Burger menus set you back 99,-dkk. Traditional danish red hotdogs were 20,-dkk ea. You are not allowed to bring food or drinks to the park. Not to impressed by the food, compared to the price. All in all a good park, we spent 5 hours, the kids would have liked to stay longer. On saturdays there are alot of entertainment in the park. So if you can go on saturdays, the children will probably enjoy it even more.
Amasing hotel with a top staff and wonderful kindness. The Reef waterworld is the best ever. The kids loved it, and so did the adults. Must try. Fredrikshavn is a lovely city with alot of special store for good shopping. And the service is the best.
This is a fantastic place for families. Picture of famely room a little missleading, as the room is smaller than it appares. But on the positive side the waterpark is much bigger and variated than pictures show :)
I spent one night here on a business trip in August and this hotel really needs to start doing something to their rooms, but let’s start with the positive things. The communal areas are nice, and their bartender for the night was really good and as good as you would expect to find one in one of the better clubs in Copenhagen. The staff at reception were really sweet and nice and very helpful I went to the waterpark after work – and I really liked the outside spa and especially the round pool with a current – My children would have loved this feature, so good so far. The breakfast was also nice, lots of things on offer, but a bit bland in taste, nothing that made it stand out. So far I would be able to swing a 3,5 maybe a 4 rating – if the rooms had been good. But the rooms…. I felt I had been transported back to a dorm room in the eighties. Two very narrow single beds and very depressing brown and old furniture around it. The bathroom was very basic and did not offer anything that could rise the bar. I know Scandic is not known for being on edge and modern, but they should try to look to chains like the french Novotel. They have succeeded in combining business and family travel into one great package and to an affordable price – so it can be done.
One of life's treats awaits your family when either staying briefly en route elsewhere or as a final short break destination ! Visiting has now become a family tradition that we would all sorely miss!
Excellent for my Grandkids, they really had a good time and that was the purpose of the trip. this also neans that I had a good time there. happy with all service and the functions on the hotel. will return again.
