Had an excellent time with my son here, and it was clearly alot of other happy families there :-) I was there with my oldest son, 11, and he was very happy :-) Next year I am bringing both my sons, then my youngest son will be 3 years old. This place has something for all ages :-)
The indoor waterpark was a lot of fun for the kids, but the hotel itself was not impressive. There's no air conditioning, so we had to open the windows at night. This was no problem as far as the temperature went, but there was so much noise outside our window every morning that we were woken up much earlier than we wanted. There was no safe in the room, which I expect in a nice hotel. The bathroom was not very well cleaned. But the thing I had the biggest problem with was that we got 3 towels for 3 people in our room, and when I asked the woman at the front desk for more towels she told me we were allowed one towel per person in our room and that I would have to pay 20 kroner for additional towels. Not sure if they noticed, but there is a WATERPARK in their building! Really, there should just be extra towels in the pool area, but since there are not, extra ones from the front desk is a pretty reasonable request. And really, any nice hotel will just give you more towels if you ask for them.
A great Hotel for familyes but a missed bigger rooms for bigger familyes. The kids meny to expensive but great food. Greate service, fun for the kids in the pools. Will come back agine and hope for rooms alternative for the big family whith manny kids ( 6 or more kids )
Expensive and no exeptional at all seems everything is to get you to pay to much for everything Dont spend your money here, go elsewere in you want some value. Rooms without air conditioning and no freeze
Nice experience for the kids! They loved it! Could be softer beds and the rooms was little timeworn, but overall it was 2 nights with family and it the location was perfect, close to main street and not too long walk from the ferry, coming back for sure! :)
The hotel is a typical Scandic. The checkin and checkout experience was very negative. We arrived at the time our booking gave as checkin but were told that the room was not available and to came back in 2 hours. When pointing out that the booking said differently the receptionist engaged in a rude argument. At checkout The receptionist just stated the outstanding amount and charged our credit card without an explanation of which services the amount was covering. The bill was incomprehensible. To avoid another argument with the reception we decided that as the bill largely added up we would just pay and leave. The hotel has an great pool landscape with water slide, and a number of different smaller pools as well as a wave pool. That was excellent fun. Because of the great pools the hotel is very busy with families with kids and understandably noisy. The room was OK. Not as nice as "on the pictures" though. We had a family room with two quite narrow but else OK single beds and two wall mounted foldout beds. These are fine for kids up to a height of 160 cm. The breakfast buffet was very good.
The children loved the pool, but is actually quite limited for more than an afternoon. If you are coming for the pool then the children (under 10) won't be disappointed. The hotel is very average with tired and dated rooms (beds were quite uncomfortable, a dated decor I can easily deal with). The check-in procedure (for us) was delayed by nearly 4 hours to get access to our room from when check-in opened which was not optimal. Ideal location for catching the ferry the next day though so if you can get s good deal then go for it.
We loved to travel to Fredrikshavn every year for having fun in the city and have a nice bath in the noon, always choosed The Reef for a night or two because we like the faculities around the city. During the years we have been pleased with our earlier bookings on this hotell, but we arent happy with this anymore! The bathroom has more and less broken tiles who should be changed out, this could "eat" water from the floor if u arent careful while a showering. There was mold in the showers and the the carpet on the bed was very dirty, the pillows was quite soft and smelled strange. The roomfloor was bad because years and years with spilled water from the bathroom from wet feets. The chairs was drawings with a pencil, maybe clean/change this? The lobbyroom was crowdy with many unhappy peoples, there was cold outside and it was chaos in the lobby. No one watched the storage for luggage, peoples can steal from suitcases if they really want. This should be watched from your staff! Our room was 508 with a poor view because you seeing straight into quite dirty roofs, this should be cleaned out. The green mold was everywhere on the roof, why dont u fix these simple things? The price on this hotel is horrible for what you really get, the The Reef bathland was very nice but the rooms sucks. Im sorry, im so done with The Reef now!
Nice place for family to be. Everything are around the place if you need something you have it all there. I will for sure be back there. By the way I love this place 👍 One thing missing in the room that is a fridge. Very good place for children ones you been there you will for sure coming back. Just good memories after you been there and it is so fun for everyone 😃 I'm very statisfied you will be too....
The Reef Resort is a wonderful place to relax. In fact, you can spend a full day relaxing there. There's a bar and a restaurant, and all the pools, saunas, jacuzzis and hot tubs you need to really calm down. If you're with kids, let them loose, order a drink, get in the hot tub and relax!
