We stayed for 2 nights in mid October and given that we had read some pretty average reviews were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The hotel is very modern and in our opinion 'quirky' but if you like bright and vibrant decor then this is for you. Our room was great, had a balcony overlooking the small courtyard - very pleasant sitting out listening to the piped music from below!! The room was spotlessly clean, hi-tec shutter blinds kept out the morning sun which helped for a long and restful sleep! The hotel is ideally situated for the beach, promenade, railway station and a 15 to 20 minute walk takes you right into the old town where there is a vast array of fine bars and restaurants to pick from. Finally we would like to say a huge thank you to Sandrine who greeted us on arrival with a lovely smile and was also available to chat to us and give us personal advice on restaurants etc throughout our short stay. Nothing was too much trouble! Great Place!
Stayed in hotel 10 days ago first room there were serious plumbing problems no water ! However we were promptly moved to another Both rooms tired first was bizarre very small no where to put anything Second better but still strange lighting system not particularly functional and no discrete lighting for reading in bed! Ok the hotel is fairly central the sun terrace was very pleasant swimming pool a big tub Didn't do breakfast more fun to go to local cafe Don't think I'd recommend in its present state
We stayed for 3 nights in September and for 2 females on a long weekend it was great. The staff were very helpful (recommending restaurants, booking taxis, offering assistance and advice) and the location was brilliant. Close to the beach, not too far from the main promenade and an easy walk to the old town for the nightlife. Our room was very comfortable and clean and had a fun design. We are excited to see what changes are made as it is need of a bit of updating but has the potential to be amazing. The roof terrace was nice but there were no bar staff up there so we went elsewhere for drinks. Overall a really good find. Decent price for a weekend in a city and ideal for a girls weekend away.
The hotel is a bit worn out - the rooms, which must have looked very good when they were first fitted out, are in need of a refresh. Leaking showers, peeling paint, noisy air conditioner, etc. These fairly minor gripes could be ignored if it wasn't for the staff. Each member of staff we dealt with came across as disinterested to the point of being rude. They gave the impression that you being there was an inconvenience to them. They also came across as incompetent and without much idea of what was going on. Given the number of comments on TripAdvisor to the same effect, its odd that the hotel management don't invest in some training for their staff. Also, note that access to the private beach is not included in the price of the hotel - only a token discount is given to the standard rate. Whilst, to be fair, nothing on the hotel's website explicitly says that access to the beach is included, you'd be forgiven if you got that impression before you booked. I've no idea why this hotel has a four star rating from French rating agency. It was far worse than other four start hotels we stayed in on the trip.
We paid £170 per night for 5 nights. Advert on hotels.com said: * Private Beach * free water * sound proof rooms Private beach is 17 euros pr person per day!!! WTF I paid a premium thinking this was included. No free water - only a free very small drink on arrival. We could hear everything in our room, not sound proof. Complained and management offered a free glass of wine?? Pool on the top floor is just a plunge pool, and no bar when we got there. Also our room was not serviced the 1st night. rooms are 'funky', but really have a hospital sterilised feel to them.. in need of a refurb, the shower was mouldy and limescale on it. And no extractor fan in the toilet!! I would never stay here again, management could have done something to help us feel better and they failed, especially since the advert is incorrect. we complained to Hotels.com and they gave us £60 back. This is not a lot but it was something. Beach bar is lovely and the staff there are nice, but we feel ripped off by this hotel and will not be visiting any of their chains ever again.
We really liked the hotel and would recommend it, but only once it has been refurbished. We had one of the more expensive rooms (the yellow one) so not able to comment on the other rooms. Positives Unique and interesting design Large room with good sized terrace Swimming pool on the roof is a welcome novelty Receptionist/host was v lovely Spity Beach club was great (you get discounted access) Negatives Needs refreshing- looks tired in places (I think this is planned) A bit of a walk to the old town/port area (wear comfy shoes and avoid doing this in hot weather!) Not much of a 'bar' atmosphere on the roof
Stayed there 2 nights with my friends. Good location. Nice funky decor. Very small rooms. Our room, pipes from the sink is not working at all. As it's only two nights, we just used towels for the dripping. There is no handsoap for the rooms. Customer service, I don't know how they get 4 stars!!! Overall I would not recommend it.
We stayed here during our summer holiday for 10 days. Had found the hotel ourselves and thought the location and the value of it was great. And it was. Great quiet location in city center. Walking distance to everything in Nice - all from the beach to the old town. We had an executive room - quite big. The decor is something else so you might want to check that out before booking. For the value and the location we liked it. Also good service provided from the reception. But when comparing this 4-star hotel to other 4 star hotels we felt the last things missing. Lack of storage in the room when being 2 adults for alomst 2 weeks on holiday, when refilling the coffe capsules it was wierd only giving us 3 when they knew we were 2 people there small things but still a 4 star hotel....). The pool on the roof is more a dipping pool. Would probably not stay there an entire day. Finally we had a look under the bead which was elevated from the floor....and that was not cleaned at all during our stay and we even wonder if it was cleaned before we checked in.
Our stay here was great! The concierge was helpful, the room was super colorful and fun and the location is close to the beach! The pool is fun and a nice cooling option. Our only complaint is that there was no shade or curtain option for the huge glass door to the courtyard balcony; there was a thick metal, machine operated, window shutter, which made the room very dark. The only reason that this was a complaint was that it made it difficult to sleep comfortably, knowing others could easily see in to the window. And we didn't want to shut the metal shade, because we were enjoy natural light in the morning. However, that being said, we'd stay here again!
Good location, interesting decor throughout hotel. Hotel reception staff exceptional. We arrived a little flustered and late after our pre-booked taxi failed to arrive at the airport. The gentleman receptionist was very helpful and genuine and offered to ring the taxi company re our return trip which he did. All sorted!!! Not so. Unfortunately taxi for airport failed to arrive. If the reception girls had not telephoned the taxi firm numerous times it would not have collected us. We are so appreciative for their help. The staff are very friendly, helpful and all speak perfect English. Thank you for your help.
