Splendid central hotel a few minutes from the city centre. It has also a swimming pool, perfect for families. The breakfast was rich and various. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We also had the chance to chat with the director, very attentive and professional. We will be back!
We booked this hotel on line and noted that it was under renovation a few days before our arrival. So on arrival we asked for a renovated room, which we duly got. The room was clean and tidy and the beds were huge and comfortable. The bathroom was fresh and had a shower only, but that was fine. There's was free wi-fi and a small fridge, safe and tv. The air con could have been a bit cooler but otherwise, overall it was good. The breakfast was purely continental, so if your after bacon and eggs, you've no chance. Boiled eggs yes. But there was plenty and it was all very fresh and tasty. The staff were just the best! So helpful and nothing was a hinderence. Top marks to them. It's listed as a 4 star but we think 3 is where it should be. Other than than that, it's location is just spot on. Just a small walk into the restaurant area or into the well known shops. The old town was a ten minute walk which was mostly flat apart from some gentle steps down into the old town with its winding thin walkways lined with character, bars and restaurants. The train station is about three quarters of a mile but again it's all flat. We used it to visit Monaco and Cannes. Use the ticket office to buy your tickets as the automated machines offer English but revert to French when your midstream and it becomes confusing. There are some majoring works on the main promenade but it wasn't disruptive and will ease fears for us all. One thing to note is that there was quite a lot of pick pockets around and my wife felt someone trying her zipped bag but the disappeared into the crowd when challenged. Whilst on the train to Cannes it came on the tannoy system that people were having items stolen. Otherwise a trip to Monaco and Cannes are a must. Although we think Cannes is overrated and once you've walked the very small front there's little there to charm you. The weather was spot on for early June and I did suffer with some nasty insect bites which required a visit to the chemist. The food in general is lovely and work on 25 euros each for food plus beer etc. For a treat go to the Hard Rock Cafe. OMG, the New York Strip Steak and beef fajitas were fab!! For two steaks, one fajitas two soft drinks and a large beer was 105 euros (£92) So overall the hotel was good and it had a swimming pool etc and dressing gowns and slippers in the room. We mark the hotel 7/10.
We booked here for 5 nights from 22-27th May and were given a room on the 2nd floor (room 224). Although the room wasn't one of the newly refurbished ones that other trip advisor reviewers have mentioned, we were more than happy with the it as it was spacious, clean, and quiet with no street or corridor noise. Towels were changed daily, maid service was prompt and the complimentary toiletries were lovely. Bed was comfortable and the TV, fridge, safe and tea/coffee making facilities were added bonuses. Breakfast was excellent and there was always plenty to eat/drink. All the food was fresh and tasty. What made this hotel stand out for us were the wonderful reception staff who were always helpful and extremely welcoming. On the day that we checked out, the hotel staff arranged transfers to the airport for us which were on time and also very friendly. Due to the British Airways issues over the bank holiday weekend we ended up having to spend an extra night in Nice and the hotel staff managed to find us a room and honour our original rate - which given that it was a French holiday weekend, and the Monaco Grand Prix we were absolutely delighted with and by the service and compassion that the hotel staff gave us as we were literally stranded. We would have no reservations about staying here again, we had a fantastic time in the Cotê D'Azur and when we come back we will look no further than the Nice Riviera. Fantastic. 5 stars from us. Thank you.
Stayed here last weekend in May.The location is great for closeness to town and getting to the beach. My room was on the first floor. For what it was it was way overpriced and definitely not 4 stars by UK standards. The gym and pool were of a poor standard. The gym had very little equipment. THE GOOD POINTS - Excellent location, friendly helpful staff, Spacious rooms, clean comfortable beds. THE BAD POINTS - Decor, soft furnishings and furniture are old, dated and worn. Breakfast overpriced for an average continental selection.
A welcoming friendly helpfull staff. We were upgraded to a executive suite. With sunlounger on the 6th floor balcony. With lovely views. The room was clean The breakfast was tasty. A good central location to tour the Nice. We would love to visit again..
We stayed here the week running up to the Grand Prix, the hotel is in a great location, 10 mins walk at most to all the best things to see, eat and drink in Nice. We were upgraded to an executive room on arrival. Which was a lovely bonus. Large room with a terrace overlooking Nice. We found the staff friendly and happy to help, the manager of the hotel, on our departure even took the time to give us a later checkout time, even though they were expecting Grand Prix guests later that day. That made a huge difference to us. We used the pool and hot tub, it was good for a relax after a hard day sightseeing! You aren't going to get an large indoor pool and fully equipped gym in the centre of Nice! Breakfast was good, lots to chose from and was fresh, and topped up all the time. Have to say both my husband and I were dubious about the coffee from the machine, but it was the nicest expresso I've had in a while! Ditto hubbys cappachino. We throughly enjoy our time in Nice and staying at this hotel made it most enjoyable. Thank you
Very central location and clean hotel with professional staff. However, it is not good value for money especially as the rooms are very dated and shabby. The gym and pool were essential to our booking and both sadly not up to standard. The gym had very little equipment and was in a room by the pool. The pool was shabby and small and the sauna hardly held 2 people at a time. It is necessary to go through the reception area to the pool which is far from ideal. Didn't try the breakfast. Better off booking a hotel on the Avenue des Anglais even if it cost a little more.
Interesting hotel as it is undergoing renovations. The 5th floor is complete and all new - ask for it! The 4th floor is half complete but the paint smells are strong. #rd floor down has not been renovated yet. As for the new rooms, the bathrooms are spacious and very sleek. The beds are comfy and the room was spacious. The most updated item was a plug just for USB cords - so no adaptors needed. The location is great for closeness to town and getting to the beach. The staff was very friendly. The included breakfast was average.
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast options. It would have been nice if the coffee in the lobby was open all day, not just at lunch. No complaints on anything else. Nice clean rooms.
Excellent location for exploring Nice. Hotel being refurbished during our visit but there was no inconvenience for guests. Staff very welcoming and helpful. I would certainly stay in this hotel again.
