Great Location, Great Service, Great Breakfast! Highly recommend.. Location is right in the center of the city, everything is walkable.. breakfast is very good and the staff is very helpful. Make sure to choose double bed, if you are traveling as a couple, I was traveling solo so went with the bunk bed.. but it may not be obvious as both suggest for 2 ppl..

I recently stayed at a Happy Culture hotel. I didn't realize it was a chain restaurant until the third day I was there. The only reason I found out was because a supervisor happened to be in the common area and told us. The Happy Culture hotels each have a theme. Ours was jelly beans, which means guests get free jelly beans whenever they wish. Other hotels in the area had themes of wine and chocolate. I would have much preferred to stay at one of those, but that is because I prefer wine and chocolate to jelly beans. It would be a good idea to be told about this feature upon arrival. My room was very small; I had trouble walking around the bed. The sheets were not changed every day, which is fine, except that there was an obvious spill on the top of the sheet that I cleaned myself after the first night. Also, the sheets had yellow stains on them, which was a little disconcerting. The staff was their redeeming feature. Very friendly, very eager to please and answer questions. The elevator was broken during my stay, but thankfully I was on the second floor. I felt sorry for the guests that were on the higher floors, especially having to carry their luggage up several flights of stairs.

We've just returned from four nights at Hotel Crillion. First the positives: -the staff - all that we met were very pleasant and helpful. Emmanuel on reception is an absolute delight with a cheeky laugh like The Simpson's Krusty the clown. We thoroughly enjoyed having a long chat with him. -the location - 10 minutes walk to the train station, the beach and the old town. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars nearby. -the free sweets, water and coffee - a nice touch which other hotels could take note of. -the room was generally clean and the maid service efficient Now the negatives, which are painful because they are so avoidable, they just need to do some basic checks on the room between guests: -Stained mattress - looked like coffee and clearly visible through the bed sheet. Not very appealing. - Framed picture on the floor ?why not hang it back up between guests - Weird stain on the ceiling ?why not clean it up between guests - Safe unusable because last guess hadn't left it open ?why not check this between guests - the shower cubicle is tiny. Now i'm not exactly skinny (17stone), another 6 lbs and would not have been able to get in it at all. Don't drop the soap because you'll have to get out f the shower to pick it up! -Breakfast was a little meagre. We don't expect much but the offering was really tight. A boiled egg wouldn't go amiss. Another issue with breakfast was that if it got slightly busy the one waitress could not keep up at all. The meagre food options ran out very quickly whilst the young lady rushed around clearing and setting tables. So overall, this was a disappointing hotel experience. Had the room been checked and the avoidable points addressed before we checked into the room then I'd happily give 3 stars. Sort out the breakfast and shower space and I'd have been a very content. A lesson for the hotel - the above suggests you're cutting corners - it's really not a good idea!

Lovely gem of a place for a great price. Everything in Nice is expensive, but this hotel is affordable and charming. The staff is great. Particularly Emmanuel, who immediately makes you feel like a returning old friend. Breakfast is great, coffee available all the time which is great for early risers like myself. Rooms are a little tight size size, so if there are two of you it might serve you well to request a bigger room (room sizes vary).

I loved the location. Very quiet and clean hotel, located just next to the main shopping street, in the evening very calm, which is good who wants to have rest. Very close to the old own and night life.

I've been here before, as a solo traveller, but this time was here with my husband for our wedding anniversary. The room was large enough, and the bed very comfortable, but short of storage space for clothing. The the bathroom was a reasonable size and had a deep bathtub with shower, WC and sink. The tub could have done with some kind of non-slip mat or strips and a safety grab rail to get in and out. Although in the city centre, the double glazing keeps street noise to a minimum in the bedrooms. The small elevator kept breaking down and jamming between floors - but at least it would always return to the ground floor safely. The staff are very friendly and speak English

The location and the price of the hotel were superb, as it is situated right next to the main shopping street and within a walking distance of the beach. The staff at the hotel was also very kind and professional, and as mentioned by the other reviewers, the little extras they provide are a nice touch. Especially the free water was very appreciated. Good wifi too! However, nothing in this hotel seems to work or is very inconvenient. Some issues are small, like the coffee machine in the lobby that sometimes works, sometimes doesn't or the hooks that won't hold a towel. These would have been fine, but our room was in the second highest floor and the elevator could only take one at a time - except it didn't, and it got stuck twice when we tried to use it. We also heard our neighbours getting stuck there a few times. There were no apologies or anything, and allowing anyone to use that elevator is absurd! Most people find getting stuck in a closed, dark elevator scary! Also, our room was small, but that was expected as that was what we booked, but the bathroom was really ridiculously small. Seriously, bigger people or someone pregnant literally would't fit through the shower door... And for the inconveniences, there's no hooks or shelves to put your toiletries. And lastly, our room had some kind of water damage, and the wall had an ugly wet, brown mark in it. The hotel is clearly newly renovated (and still in renovation), the decor is beautiful and one can see the effort made, but it just doesn't work. We stayed for three nights, and I believe that was the absolute maximum I could've stayed in that room.

Very clean room, very friendly staff (esp Max from Utah!!). Great location for sea front, train station & restaurants & shops. Free tea/coffee much appreciated, free water very welcome given the sunny days & the free sweets are a nice touch. Would definitely recommend this hotel - excellent.

The hotel is simple, but has a great atmosphere, first I thought it was because of the nice way it is decorated, but in fact it was because of the people who work there. They are very friendly and fun. And they really care: When we left, I forgot a folder in the room. They sent it to me immediately and did not even charge me for the costs.

Enjoyed my stay here for 3 nights. Staff exceptionally friendly and room sufficed my needs. Ideally centrally located between station and old town . Only negative was bathroom a bit cramped for a big person like myself.
