My friend and I stayed at Hotel Crillon Centre Nice and had a most wonderful time. Very helpful personnel, with sweet Emmanuelle, that guided us to several restaurants and brasserie around town. The room was well cleaned and despite having chosen the room with a bunkbed, it was amazing. For us the location was great, next to a shopping street and only few minutes from the beach. I'm already planning to return with my boyfriend for the next trip.
Amazing concierge that made us smile every day! Yummy candy and coffee in the lobby as well as water bottles! Super clean, big beautiful room that had everything we needed. Great location! Really cool communal room!
Room was nice and clean. Bathroom was great. There was a lot of noice in the sunday morning after 7am when people woke up and they were speaking loudly on the hallway. Also cleaning ladies were talking loudly and that is why we couldn't sleep that well.
We loved our stay here at the Hotel Crillon, it could not have been in a better location. On the main high street located next door to Mango, every girls dream, with old town on one side and new town at the other topped off by the sea front just a few hundred yards at the bottom of the road. The welcome was sensational, very helpful and a nice bottle of cold water handed straight to me on arrival, quick and easy check in. The room was beautifully decorated, very french and boutique so don't expect to much space but its perfect, comfy beds and amazing shower! We found some incredible restaurants in both old and new town, mainly by avoiding any menu's written in English and asking the waiters for recommendations. We also did a great walking food and wine tour on the first day which is number one on trip adviser, id recommend this! Overall i can't fault the hotel and our stay it was all so perfect i will 100% be telling my friends to stay here and will hopefully return my soon!
The Hotel Crillon is run by a very nice staff, but the building is poorly maintained enough that I wouldn't stay there again. The room is mostly a standard small-ish European hotel room, but it's particularly poorly laid out. There's a cabinet for clothes, but the floor of its larger side isn't quite big enough for a standard carryon suitcase, so there's no place to store a suitcase. And the door on the other side can barely be opened because it opens into the bedside table. And there's no desk of note; it's too small to fit even a laptop, but there's a chair floating next to it, mostly just being in the way. The safe in the cabinet (on the side of the cabinet that could barely be opened) was not large enough to store a medium-size laptop, though it's possible it might fit a few laptops at the smallest end of laptop sizes. The first night I was there, one of the ceiling panels (near the doorway) fell out while I was sleeping, waking me up with a huge noise (metal panel on wood floor), and leaving the electric cable to the light in that panel dangling. Whatever maintenance allowed this to happen seems unacceptable. The drain in the shower also doesn't have a U-bend to trap some water, so the smell of the sewer comes up out of the shower drain. It's not that bad if the air conditioning is on or the windows are open, but it can be quite noticeable after coming back from a day out. And opening the windows is a bad idea because of all the mosquitoes. Otherwise the bathroom was fine (though small), and the shower controls were good. The breakfast had a decent selection of stuff (coffee machine, orange and apple juice, water, bread, jam, honey, cereal, milk, yoghurt, ham, cheese, fruit salad, croissants, pain au chocolat, a few pieces of fruit, and a few other things), although the quality of the ingredients wasn't great (such as the baguettes). The wifi was pretty slow. Using multiple devices was fine, but occasionally I'd get multiple repeated prompts to log in on one of them, though otherwise I think I only needed to log in once each time I used the device. The staff were quite welcoming and friendly. I didn't attempt to ask them to address any of these issues, given that I didn't want a bunch of repair people coming through the room when the safe wasn't big enough for my laptop, though I obviously told them about the fallen ceiling panel when I checked out.
Normally book Marriot or Rad Blu hotels on holiday but for 6 nights, in Nice, shall we say that would workout very expensive and even Ibis Styles near the Nice Ville train station was sold out! So I picked the Happy Culture Brand in the hope of some standards .... Well for a budget hotel the room for 2 was large ... much larger than we expected and the mattress not bad. Lacked communal finaries, no bar or plush lounge but the Flat screen TV large and modern with English news channels. Almost on top of Jean Medicine tram stop nice and central for the price. The breakfast less extensive than Ibis Styles and no got foods. Nonetheless bright and modern but didn't feel like a hotel ....perhaps a bit like a posh hostel ! Hotel emailed a survey before arrival ...to ascertain wants in terms of trips etc. But alas no info furnished ! So used the tourist info at main train station who are well informed. In summary through hotels.com it wasn't much more than 85 euro a night including brealfast....on a discounted offer a week before stay. G Adventures and escorted tours company were using some of the hotel rooms at time of visit which accords with its good location just of Messena Square. For location and price worth it as a value hotel.
A lovely 4 night stay at this hotel of happiness. The staff were most definitely the highlight for me, always greeting you with a smile, ever so helpful and happy to have a chat as you pass through the hotel lobby or breakfast room. Free coffee in the lobby was also a treat. The room itself was a decent size for one person, although for a couple it may have felt a little crowded for a stay of more than one or two nights. Super comfortable bed and lovely colour scheme throughout the room. In room safe was a bonus also. The downside for me was that the room itself was not particularly sound proof and so could hear everything in the corridoor outside the room (ie: other people coming and going and conversations, etc). Also, My room had a leak in the bathroom basin which, despite me speaking to the staff about getting fixed, was not addressed throughout my stay of 4 nights. I ended up just putting a towel on the floor to absorb the leaking water, Similarly, the bedside lamps were coming out from the wall, but again, despite highlighting the problem to the hotel on the night of check in, nothing was fixed fort he duration of my stay. I loved the way the bathroom had been decorated, however, the shower, despite good water pressure and temperature, was incredibly small space wise. I am size 12 and 5'11'' tall and struggled with showering...having to squat down to pick up shampoo, soap, etc as I could most definitely not bed over to reach my products. Also, unfortunately, my room had Mosquitoes buzzing around (including 2 dead ones high up on the wall), which meant that I woke up each morning with a fresh bite. Fantastic location and great staff make the hotel's good rating. A little expensive for what it is however. Would be 50/50 on staying again if I'm perfectly honest
Fresh clean hotel with a friendly team on hand if required. Location is great. Rooms a bit small but ok. The only complaint from me is the room walls seem a little thin as you'll hear your neighbours so you have to hope they're considerate or it wont be fun... Breakfast is self serve, continental. Theye cleaner will wake you with her noise around 9am! Overall a good experience as I'd use again because of price and location. There's no hot drinks making facility in the rooms nor any way of keeping bought things cool...
Great location, around the corner from tram, shops, eating, beach and train. Bus stop across from hotel. Catch bus7 to train if you want to go to Village Eze,wineries, parfumeries, Monoco by train 10m
This is very well located hotel tucked away just off the main street. I stayed on the third floor in a twin room facing the road. I agree with the comments about being able to hear people in the rooms next to you, however luckily the other guests seemed to be respectful & quiet! The room could do with redecorating, e.g. the area around the air conditioning vent was just bare plaster. The furnishings in the room are basic but functional, and it serves its purpose. The service of the staff was impeccable & nice touches with the free candy, coffee & water in reception. You can also visit the other sister hotels in the city for free ice cream & other things. I would visit again.
