Good Close to the train station and half hour walk to the centre and promenade. Breakfast was ok, not much selection though, and food would run out quickly and not replenished quickly enough. Staff were very friendly and helpful (and all spoke English) Wifi was good and all round the hotel. Bad Floor need a hoovering, and I found a small spider inside my bed. There was no toilet paper when we arrived. Room was right next to lift, so very noisy as people chat while waiting for the lift. Window was to the back of the building, so not a great view. Overall, the hotel was ok and good if you're on a budget.
Hotel Compte de Nice is in a very good location.....near the Liberation tram stop, a short walk to the Intermarche supermarket, the station of the Chemins de Provence., a large post office and many restaurants with a wide range of cuisine. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. This is a 2 star hotel, but my rating should be four and a half.....since it has virtually everything you could wish for. Our studio was clean, on the first floor and had a small kitchen, good sized bedroom, and bathroom+ toilet. The main station is about a 10 minute walk (or you can take the tram if you have luggage). There are bus ticket offices at both air terminals and it pays to get a multi ticket for 10 journeys at 10 euros. The express bus 99 costs 6 euros pp from Terminal 2 to the railway station, and takes about 30 minutes mainly due to the work involved in extending the tramway. Our bedroom was quiet at night but there is a lot of building work around the hotel at the moment....but it did not affect us as we were out all day. Local buses at 1 euro per journey with correspondence up to 74 minutes are an excellent way to see the outlying areas. Our sincere thanks go to the staff at this hotel since they made our stay so enjoyable.
My partner and I stayed there for 2 nights at the end of September. The hotel was taken over by large group of foreign teenagers/students meaning quite a lot of noise (especially at breakfast time). Our room was quite basic on par with any 2-star hotel. No double bed. We had room 412 which had 3 single beds AND a terrace which was great for afternoon drink al fresco (even if it overlooked a building site). It also had a micro-wave and small fridge which we also put to good use. Glad we only stayed for 2 nights as it's rather basic. But the money saved on accommodation we spent it on nicer restaurants etc. The central location is ideal to explore the towns and villages (or Monaco) outside Nice as it's really close to the main railway station (and rail fares are very very reasonable - compared to the UK anyway).
This is a two star budget hotel. My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had room 317 with 3 beds and room 319 with 4 beds. It's very basic, cheap accommodation. There were five of us and we only paid £80 each for three nights. The nearest tram station is Liberation which is a couple of minute walk or less if you walk fast. There are few restaurants outside but it would be in Gare Thiers tram station that has a lot to choose from which is a station away from Liberation. Bed is okay. Each bed has a pillow. None of us requested for extra pillow so I don't know if there is charge. Our rooms were located towards the back of the building and its in third floor, it's not noisy at all. Or we are just probably too tired to notice after a long day of walking around town. You can ask for a hair dryer and 20€ deposit is required but you can get that back when you return it. The staff were very helpful, they even print our boarding passess free of charge. Our bathroom in 317 is okay, when you have a shower you have to hold it as there is no place to hang it. At least the water drains okay unlike in room 319, water doesn't drain as fast. They change the towels daily during our stay. If you are looking for a basic place to stay in Nice this hotel is okay. For those looking for more, perhaps you should spend more.
Hotel staff was lovely and helpful, however our room was too small and bathroom even smaller have so many bruises from trying get in and out of it. I never seen such a small hotel room in my life to be honest! Unfortunately there was and probably still is construction and we were woken up every morning from the noise! I personally think the hotel should of given us a room to the side away from construction considering the fact we staying 10 days! You can survive construction noise did you staying 1 or 2 nights but 10 days is a bit much especially if you want to relax. Not having any Aircon did not help either and I did not find out until the last day that one could actually rent an aircon for 20€ a day. That also would of been nice to know upon arrival. Breakfast is simple but fresh. Location is good but once it gets dark it may not be the safest area, as I watched couple of fights from my window where people throwing stones and bottles after each other. On Tuesday eve they have a soup kitchen in the evening by the tram station for the homeless, very heartwarming, but maybe the reason for attracting certain people. So this is my experience and the simple truth. We stayed there in August in a standard room
Our experience at Hotel Comte was a mixed bag. The good... The location is really great. It is a short 2min walk from the Liberation tram stop and about 15min from the main train station Gare Nice Ville. Check in was easy, we'd arrived early and were able.to drop off our bags and get information from reception about the town. They have a decent breakfast for €8 of cereals, croissants and fruit salad. The wifi connection is good throughout the hotel. Now the bad... We discovered bed bugs in the pillows which was disgusting to say the least. Reception was apologetic about the experience, saying this had never happened before, and moved us to a different room. Which wasn't much better as the shower had to be handheld. Also it was right by the lift which was quite noisy. A potentially great experience that was messed up by poor hygiene.
We stayed her for a mini break and although perfectly situated it was very tired. We had an apartment and unfortunately the table still had coffee marks all over it and the bathroom wasn't especially clean. I bought some anti bacterial wipes from the supermarket and had to thoroughly clean before we felt comfortable, didn't use the glasses and as they had no kettle to offer us we didn't t use cups either. The room was very hot although she did say it was air conditioned, eventually we did get the use of a fan which helped. Breakfast was ok and on our last day it did appear that the eating area was getting a much needed clean. Would recommend for location.
First of all, the night staff were very unhelpful when confronted about wifi issues, then proceeded to pass the blame onto us and say there's something wrong with our phones. Whilst we waited in the lobby to try and fix the issue ourselves, he began to mock us and sarcastically ask if we wanted tea or coffee whilst we did that, since 'it would be a while'. We just left it because at this point we were both getting annoyed, so we went to our hotel room, The room itself was pretty decent, there's a kitchenette and your room view can vary. However, when checking the bathroom, there was no toilet paper, so naturally we decided to call the lobby and ask about this. The same guy said 'you need to come down here and get it yourself'. The kitchenette was very convenient. Although you probably should bring your own washing up liquid and sponge since the cleaner didn't touch the dishes so we could only make use of the kitchenette once. The cleaner also didn't change our bedsheets so we were forced to sleep in the same bedding for a week. On the other hand, the location of the hotel is extremely convenient and right by a tram stop so getting to the beach and city centre was very easy. Just make sure you buy a ticket every time you board, you don't want a €80 fine. We do recommend getting the yellow and pink sweets at the desk, THEYRE SO YUMMY.
When we first entered, they gave us room 119. It was really hot and there was no airconditioning. The room was also very small. The next day we asked for a new room and the friendly German girls immediately gave us a new room (room 108 - very good room and a big room compared with the other rooms). The breakfast is good, the hotel is good located and it is price-quality friendly. Don't expect the luxury of a 4 - 5 star hotel, but if you are looking for a decent place to sleep and a good breakfast, this hotel is a good bargain. I recommend this hote if you are on a budget. The hotel is really good located.
This is a basic hotel, so my rating is not just a criticism of the hotel itself but of the experience. While checking in there was quite a queue and therefore the process was very slow. The next negative point was that the hotel was very dark, lights were clearly on a timer, which is very good for the environment, yet at the same time it would have been nice to see where I was walking. Finally, there was some very loud construction work taking place outside. Funnily enough I was almost killed by one of the diggers, the driver of which crashed it into the walk way behind the hotel. On the other hand, the positives, are that the room were basic but more than comfortable, the staff were helpful and the hotel's location provides very good access to most of Nice. A little expensive for what you get, but for a 1 night stop over, more than adequate.
