Howard Johnson Hotel By The Falls

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Hotel is located by Clifton Street where all the action is. Everything is within walking distance and the bus stops right outside the door. Worth the miney!

Within walking distance to Clifton Hill and The Falls, but with the WeGo bus pass available for purchase at the hotel you can ride to any attraction from Marineland to the Floral Clock. From the Foral Clock you can purchase a ticket for another bus to take you to Niagara On The Lake. WeGo is great for us 60 somethings and others who get a bit tired walking and don't want the hassle of parking.

Everything here is clean, nice, friendly staff, room is very nice. The only thing is the tub is an old red heart shape jetted tub. It was just a little cheesy for me, but I think it could also be just me. It really is a great place to stay and highly recommend it!

Nice location, staff was very friendly, and kind. Not to far from anything. Shopping, eating, games and rides all within walking distance. Not that long of a walk to the falls. Recommend this location.

Stay was excellent. Every one was super friendly. The Restaurants were too pricey

This was the third time we stayed in Niagara Falls and this hotel had some mixed reviews but seemed mostly positive. Im glad we booked here. Our room was very nice and clean. The location was awesome, only a short walk to everything.

Staff very helpful, the hotel was clean but some things are well worn maybe consider updating. Despite the cold my daughter and I had enjoyable time. However during week days Clifton hill shuts down fairly early.

Our first night was not so pleasant since the room we were staying in had a musty smell , I think it was from the carpet or the bathroom had a mold. So we notified the front desk the next morning about the smell and she wanted to charge us $25 for a cleaning fee which I found to be outrageous since we complained to them about the odor from when we checked in the room. So then finally the lady at the front desk came to her senses and offered us another room which was much cleaner and smelled much better than the first room. But overall the location of the hotel is great , everything is in walking distance the hotel doesn't serve breakfast but there's literally tons of places to eat right next door. Parking is available but there's a $10 fee.....

We love the room very much!!! Very roomy!!! Very comfortable!!! Very quiet!!! Love it!!! The only negative was shower by pool/sauna (didn't work)& the pool didn't have enough water I would recommend this hotel !!! Everything in Canada is expensive!!!!

good hotel, good location, great long weekend vacation.

Hotel staff was very friendly . Our rooms were upgraded to king bedroom heart shaped jacuzzi tubs! Our first room was a non smoking but had a very bad smoking smell to it .they gave us another room no problem.

Had a good night out in the middle of a lot of places. Great time at a good location. This a totally none smoking hotel, even though they give you an option when you sign up on line. There is not a breakfast room in the mornings. However, Denny's is right next door, open 24 hours. Parking lot is great and patrolled. Nice Hotel.

The hotel is solid in terms of quality and value. I recommend it for families traveling on a budget.

Staff was very friendly and efficient. Our room was clean and well maintained. It was an easy walk to main attractions and the bus stop was right on the corner. The second floor was for guests with pets.

things were just great, nothing but good with this stay.

Didn't expect to put up $100.00 for securing the room. They wanted to put it on my credit card to make sure no damage to room. I said i'll give cash so I can get it back in the morning.Wasn't going to wait for them to put it on my card after I got back whose to say what damages we did? Also said there was Restaurant & Lounge NO GO.There was nothing except a Dennys next door very overpriced, but that's Canada for YA.

This is the 2nd time in 6 mth's we have stayed here and we will continue to stay here every time we come back to the falls. The hotel is only 5 mins away from Clifton Hill so you save on parking and everything is in walking distance. Staff are very friendly and our room is very neat and tidy. Not sure why it only gets 2-3 stars on most sites but this is a place everyone should stay at.

This HoJo is a short walk from all the Niagara Falls attractions...but that doesn't matter since the bus stops outside the hotel!! It was clean, the sheets smelled great, and it is in the heart of all the Niagara fun. Parking was an extra $9 a night, but WiFi was free. You pay so much less just to be a block away from the main drag, it is so worth it.

We stayed here for two nights and overall it was a comfortable experience. Parking was easy, though there is a charge, and the hotel was walking distance to all the major attractions. The only real complaint was the wifi. It is very slow and spotty. I had some work to do while away, and the wifi made it painfully difficult. Otherwise, though, a good hotel with helpful staff.

The room was a little high for a older room. very close to all attractions walking distance.
