Welcome pack. . 30 acre grounds (shared with other properties on-site). Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking. Please note: There are steps within the grounds. There is a river in the grounds, 200 yards away.. Machermore Castle, The Bothy is an annexe of the historic, Grade B listed, Machermore Castle set within a private estate with woodland walks direct from the door. The Bothy offers a quiet peaceful location from which to explore the beautiful Galloway countryside. Its upside down living space, the views from the living room out over the private gardens toward the River Cree are beautiful. It is the perfect place for family and friends to gather and enjoy a tranquil holiday in the delightful Scottish countryside.
Machermore Castle, The Bothy is situated at the gateway to the Galloway Forest Park, Britain’s largest forest park with three hundred square miles of wild beauty awaits to be explored. The park boasts tranquil valleys, rugged rock faces, forest, moorland, Lochs and a huge diversity of wildlife including red and roe deer, wild goats and many birds of prey. Explore the rolling Galloway glens and hills to discover picturesque forest trails, three friendly visitor centres, wonderful wildlife and a long and colourful history of the area.
