Hotel was great. The staff and service was excellent and very helpful! I would definately suggest to stay here. The location was great. Close to the airport. Again staff went above and beyond. Helped me with car trouble.
very neat place, staff was helpful and friendly, I will be back. Everyone greats you with a smile, and helpful advice. Im about to go to the hot tub and see how I is... I was here while a few youth basketball teams where also staying, the rooms kept noise out and I was able to sleep at night and get up for work in the morning. The breakfast was very good changing every morning and was very good quality I enjoyed my stay
Loved the spacious rooms and the cleanliness. They have an outdoor pool that the kids enjoyed. They put out free fruit and fresh cookies throughout the day. The hotel is a little on the smaller side with only one elevator on each side and its a little dated, but it looks like it's being updated. Overall a nice stay when passing thru on vacation. I would stay again.
We spent one night here while traveling through the area to visit colonial Williamsburg. Being Hampton Inn regulars, we were looking forward to our stay but it was unfortunately not a positive experience. When we checked into our room on the 4th floor, there was a strong odor (best described as body odor/must). We also discovered that the bathroom trashcan was still full of trash from the previous guest (never emptied) which naturally left concerns about the cleanliness about the rest of the room. We requested a room change due to the odor. We were immediately granted a room change and our new room did not have an odor, thankfully. We were traveling with our children. We requested a pack n play for our room 3 separate times. After 2.5 hours, one was finally delivered (around 9PM, about 1.5 hours after our baby had already fallen asleep). The property itself was pretty dated and seems in need of renovations. The in-room wifi was terrible, dropping in and out, essentially useless. The only positive would be the location. There were so many restaurant options within the area, it was almost overwhelming! It was also an easy drive into Williamsburg and seemed convenient to many other things, as well.
A great location near I-64 and the Mall. We stayed overnight on our way to OBX. The room was clean and very comfortable. They had an outdoor pool and grill that we did not use. The complimentary breakfast bar was very good with waffles, eggs , bacon , and cereals. Only 30 minutes from colonial Williamsburg. Two hours from the outer banks. We chose this hotel because we are fans of Hampton Inns. It had rooms available at a better price than rooms closer to Williamsburg..
My first review but warrants it. Hotel is the usual quality predictable Hampton. What was extra special were all the services people. Cleaning staff, grounds keepers, maintence etc were so polite and positive! It can not be easy to have teams of 6th grade girl basketball players there for almost a week. They stayed on top of everything, very polite enforcing rules and just nice to pass in halls.
My family and I stayed here for one night while we were in the area. We were in a room on the first floor facing the pool area. When we walked into the room it was very warm and had a very strong odor. We thought maybe the odor was from the room temperature. However even when the room cooled down the odor remained. We noticed the carpets were filthy in our room and in hallways. There was a group of teenagers in pool pretty late and they were loud. The breakfast area was not stocked and kept having to ask worker to get items that were missing. In all the Hampton inns we stayed at over the years this was definitely the worst and didn't live up to its standards.
We just spent the past week in Virginia (July 7-14) for our granddaughters AAU National Basketball Tournament. We stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Newport News for the week with the team and it was a great choice. The entire hotel staff was nice friendly and helpful. We booked a king suite which was nice and roomy. The kitchen had a refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, bar and chairs. We only used the microwave and refrigerator but liked having that available. I loved having the sink, vanity and mirror separate from the bathroom. I really like being able to spread out all of my "girl stuff" to do hair and makeup. The bed was okay comfy, nothing like home but okay. The AC worked great which I really appreciated since we experienced above normal temperatures that hit 100 degrees. Our daughters room had problems with the AC but the staff was on it. The pool area was really nice and the the outdoor furniture comfortable. The hotel offers a free breakfast which is nice is a bonus. They also offer free food at dinner time (5:30) everyday Monday-Thursday for customer appreciation. This is definitely something I had never experienced before. One evening there was pulled pork BBQ sandwiches with veggies and dip, another night it was pizza and wings. Double bonus! I always believe in giving a thumbs up and attagirl whenever it's deserved so this is a shout out to Melanie at the front desk. Upon checkout she shared with me some hotel facts and history about the hotel owners and surrounding land area. She was so nice and a pleasure to chat with! We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
very nice hotel in a very nice location. food, shopping, entertainment all in one area. staff was hard working and caring, took pride in their job,,,, this is a good area for family fun, shopping and sigh seeing, a lot of history to take in if you are looking to learn about u s history
Excellent service at this location! Everyone very courteous and helpful. They have a free hot breakfast that is great! They also have free food from 5-7 p.m. and free hot cookies from 7-9 p.m. I never once heard a "no" in my 4 night stay there. The pool was up to standard and the room was cleaned properly. It was about a 30 minute drive to Busch Gardens and Williamsburg. It was only about a 60 minute drive to Virginia Beach.
