The first wake up call given was not received. The hotel room door did not shut properly Breakfast was pretty lack luster. Value was good but staff was lacking.

All was extremely well, one exception, the "spa" was broken and not in service, something we had wanted to be able to use. All else was very nice, the breakfast was tasty, enough to please about anyone. The staff girl for breakfast was very friendly, professional and very helpful, keeping everything filled and available for the hotel visitors. Overall it was a great visit, and the next time in newport News we will be staying again.

This was a lovely little hotel and served our purposes well for the one night we stayed. Friendly Front Desk Staff (warned me before my stay that the jacuzzi was down for repair) Clean Room Free Parking Good Breakfast Fridge & Microwave in Room Nice Beds Overall, very satisfied and would return.

We had a very good experience in this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the free breakfast was GREAT, and the kitchen staff were so friendly and didn't rush you out or try to count how many times you went for seconds. Great when you have kids with you. Unlike a lot of big chains, this place was tranquil and you could rest without a lot of noise and bustle waking you up, prevent you from getting work done (which the nice spacious desk and free Wi-Fi make more convenient), or keeping you from relaxing.

I have stayed at Country Inn and Suites hotels many times and this is the first time I must say I was very disappointed which will impact my decision to ever stay at a Country Inn and Suites again. When I first arrived, everything was in order and the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful. But it went downhill from there. There was no shampoo in the room, and likewise there was no shampoo in the room of the people I was with. The pillows, if that is what you call them, were very uncomfortable. Even though I piled all 3 on top of each other, it was like using 1. And lastly, I could not get the fan to work on the air conditioner, so even though I had the temperature set at 65, it was very uncomfortable in the room. I have some breathing issues and need to have my room pretty cold in order to sleep. I did not call down to the front desk as I was hoping that sooner or later the fan would kick in, plus it was pretty late when I got back to the room. In the morning, the personnel were not very friendly. No one talked to us during breakfast and the front desk people never said anything. They actually were not acknowledging anyone who was walking by the desk. When I left I did tell them about my experience and all they said was "Sorry". Really! Anyway, just thought I would share.

in yorktown for baseball tourn. great breakfast in the morning. right off hwy 64. we stay there every time there is a tournament in yorktown.

The staff were all very friendly. I loved the beds, and the pillows and comforter were great. The fresh cookies were a huge hit with the kids, and we enjoyed having fresh waffles each morning. The pool was clean and there were always fresh towels. It was a great stay and a reasonable price.

Service awesome... Extremely clean and comfy rooms... Pool and jacuzzi was a plus

Where do I begin? I love staying at County Inn & Suites (mainly because of the convenient breakfasts) but this one was the worst. When I checked in I asked for extra washcloths (not the hotel's fault obviously) but there were none at the desk so I had to wait until the front desk staff retrieved them from a cart upstairs. Went back to room, only 1 remote (for 2 TV's). Front desk went to retrieve an extra remote which took some time because they had a drawer of random remotes (luckily I brought the other remote to serve as a match). But ah wait, the remote found had no batteries. Finally they found 2 batteries from some junk drawer. I ended up using batteries I brought for my kids' toys. Then I go to retrieve the bedding for the pull out sofa and the comforter had dark stains on it. I then asked for new pillowcases and a comforter and was told by the staff that she wished I had told her that the last time she went upstairs to the cart. But honestly, I think the front desk staff (2 people) were friendly and did as good a job as they could. Also, there was no clock in the room, the pool was TINY, the chairs had stains on them and there were mysterious brown splashes on the wall near the shower, and I had to wipe off the desk and "living room" tables because they were sticky. On a positive note, breakfast wasn’t bad but some folks experienced messy waffles. When asked to help, the staff declared that she could only spray the machine (with non-sticking spray) once in the morning, which she had already done. By the way, I am not some kooky neat-freak complainer and I have NEVER reviewed a hotel online before. I usually take bad reviews I read online with "a grain of salt" but felt it necessary this time. It wasn’t a flea-bag hotel, but thank goodness I only stayed 2 nights and I certainly won’t stay there again. I'll still stay loyal to the Country Inn & Suites chain tho. They are usually pretty decent.

Located on an unlovely stretch of commercial highway. Room was not very large for a "suite," but adequate for family of three. Mini-refrigerator was not cold. Our room was right next to breakfast room, where they turn on t.v. at 6:00 a.m. Free breakfast pickings are slim, but about what you'd expect. Bathroom was spacious and clean. T.V. in our room was programmed to turn on tuned to Fox News Channel, which is no doubt an attraction for some, others not so much.

we had a great time. wonderfull breakfast. great exercise room the pool was just great

We were visiting the Yorktown vicinity for a family reunion. The lobby was so impressive, as were the people who worked the desk. I would definitely stay again to enjoy the rooms and the hot breakfast. The area was super safe as far as we could see. Hot BBQ dining was right down the street.....yummy!

This is a relatively new hotel, but shows a lot of wear and tear for its age. I had to trade beds because one of the mattresses was really bad - tilted to one side. On the positive side, staff were very nice and the workout room and pool were good!

Attended a wedding. The Heating/Air unit was in my room and was very, very, noisy.

We stayed for a night when visiting area museums with our children. Staff were friendly and helpful when asked to help in locating a nearby family-friendly restaurant option. The room was on par with our expectations for cleanliness and space.

It was a great hotel convenient to food and the business I had there. The room itself was very comfy and homey. The beds were very soft like a cloud. The breakfast was great and the customer service was wonderful. The only drawback was that the room smelled funny because they had just shampooed the carpet and didn't air the room out.

Windows did not open , it was a smoking room witch I did request but it smelled damp! The shower head had no power that made showers less then perfect! The food was fine and the pool was fine also! The mattress was a bit hard also! overall it was okay but had I planned on staying longer I would have asked for a different room.

room was ok - left early so didn't have breakfast - had an early flight

while our stay at the country inn & suites we went shopping, but would have like if we had a better location to stay. we thought this wasnt the best vacation but we did have some type of enjoyment.

We were there to see our daughter for a family day connected with her intern job she had this summer in Hampton. The hotel staff were friendly and polite. The room was clean and our stay of 2 nights was enjoyable. Regular AND decaff coffee always available upon return to hotel along with apples. cookies put out in lobby for guests also. I would reccomend this hotel. Close to interstae but guiet. Easy to get around area. we did not use the pool but it looked nice as we just glanced at it.
