Hallway and room floors were laminate which made it so you could hear everything in the halls. Also with a restaurant right under my window I couldn't get to sleep from the noise and loud talking/yelling as people left the restaurant for the night. The best part was when I was leaving at 5am and walked to the front door a LARGE rat ran right in front of me outside... Yikes - get me out of here!

Nice hotel, comfortable room , very clean, friendly staff. We came in from Ct for a 4th of July celebration and stayed overnight, The room we had was spacious , comfortable and very clean. Nice shower . I will book here again. Our thank you to the friendly staff

I had a group stay here for my son's wedding. The price was good. At first I liked the wood floors until I realized that you hear everything!!! Walking in the hallway, talking. It was so noisy. I was not happy with the fact that none of the safes worked. They said none of them do and we could use the front desk. The breakfast was very good. The staff was ok. There were 3 waitresses and I filled up my own coffee. Not very attentive. I probably would stay again due to the price and shuttle to downtown but would definitely ask for an end room.

We stayed at the Ramada after a wedding. The itself is fine, clean and it had a comfortable bed. It was difficult to get the temperature in the room comfortable though, it's a heater that blows right next to the bed so we ended up waking up really hot in the middle of the night to shut it off. Again, overall the room was fine though. We were most displeased with the lack of customer service. We were woken up at 1am to loud partying, yelling, etc from down the hall. We gave it about 20 minutes to see if it was just people coming in that would settle, but nope. So we called down to the front desk and received a busy symbol. The loudness continued and we kept calling for an hour. At one point, we thought to call the restaurant to see if they could contact the front desk. The girl that answered was clearly annoyed (sounded like she was finishing her shift soon), she said she was counting up money and would tell them right after. That definitely didn't happen, because it continued for another 40 minutes or so after that. I heard the couple across the hall having the same frustration and I think they actually might have ended up calling the cops from the sound of it. Obviously, we didn't fall asleep until sometime after 2:30pm. We are parents of a toddler who were hoping to catch up on sleep with a rare night away, so this was especially disappointing.

The room was clean, the bedding comfortable, the bathroom is a bit dated but functional...large room with small beds. My only complaint is the noise. The entire hotel has pergo flooring. While I'm not a fan of non-carpeted surfaces in a bedroom, I get they are doing this for ease of cleaning and keeping it clean. But the pergo in the hallways where there is nothing to absorb the sound, is horrible. I was woken a few times during the night when couples were coming in late and talking as they went to their rooms or the click clack of heels on the hallway flooring. My suggestion is carpet the hallway or at least put carpet runners to help eliminate some of the sound (and echoing).

Just a very basic hotel. Overpriced, nicer accomondations in area at better price. There was not even a pool. Parking lot dark at night. Hotel was very clean however.

Great deal close to Newport. Staff is friendly and helpful. Didn't try breakfast, gym or anything but room, but was very happy with what I saw.

The place is well located and clean. My only problem was trying to control my room temperature which was hot when i got there. The heating/cooling system was not easy to get right.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody staying in the Middletown/Newport area. It is conveniently located. Plenty of parking. The only complaint I had was the television did not work properly. They just put in a new cable system and you needed two remotes to operate. Service was prompt upon calling the front desk. But I could not turn it on the second day. Did not call again because I did not want to. I am sure someone would have come immediately.

We can pay a little more and stay in a better hotel when coming to RI for the Jazz Festival.

The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and we were grateful for the shuttle (with flexible hours) to bring us to downtown Newport and back.

Room needed painting. No elevator to 2nd or 3rd floor. Exit signs hanging by its wires staff was very friendly location was good. Price was good in comparison to surrounding area. Very noisy. You can hear everything inside the hotel in the hallways and outside. Traffic people talking. I had to sleep with tv on.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, nice restaurant. Big front entry was very inviting.

very comfortable place to stay. friendly staff. comfortable beds and warm rooms.

Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Good location, maybe 10 minutes from downtown Newport. Clean, quiet. Good continental breakfast. Would certainly stay here again.

Spent 3 nights there over a Labor day weekend. The location is not the best but it's not far from Newport area, about 10 min drive and the price is lower than in Newport. Rooms were clean and large enough, bathrooms have everything needed, cleaning was good, however, the hotel is pretty old and the lobby smelt old. I would definitely enjoy having a fridge in the room. We had to buy yogurts at the nearest supermarket and keep them in the room until breakfasts which was pretty average. The only thing that really disturbed us was the noise level coming from other rooms, especially from above us. Floors are made of some cheap stuff and I had a feeling people above were stepping on my head. I'm sure we made the same impression on people who stayed one story down.

The public areas of the Hotel need to be kept in a far cleaner state. Food and papers were left for hours and over night. There is no or minimal soundproofing between rooms or from outside resulting in a very noisy experience.

Good value close to Newport could have had a better cont. breakfast restaurant seemed pricey lounge was nice.

My husband and I visited Middletown for a friend's wedding. Living on a budget, we tried to find a hotel in the area that looked nice and was within our budget. When I saw the photos of the Ramada, I decided to give it a try. The fact that it was a weekend of a regatta, we knew we would be paying a higher price. That being said, I don't know if what we received was worth the price. When we first walked into the hotel, there was an extremely strong smell... not of the good variety. I assumed it was from the Portofino, the restaurant located within the hotel. After check-in, I was informed that our room was on the third floor, which we could reach after a series of stairs. The staff was very friendly when they told me there was no elevator. I tried to have a positive outlook on this in that it's good exercise, since I planned on trying yummy food this weekend. However, when you hit the second floor, it's extremely warm in the hallway and this warmth continues up to the third floor. Our room was clean and fairly well sized. Our 'king' size bed was actually two twin beds together, leaving a seam that was rather uncomfortable. The shower was a good size with the curtain rod that rounds out and gives more room. The soap and shampoo/conditioner provided smells lovely! The smell was completely gone in the morning when we went downstairs for breakfast. There is a breakfast provided with different flavored danishes, muffins, waffles, English muffins, hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, juices, coffee/teas, fresh fruit, and some kind of microwaveable breakfast thing #somewhat like a hot pocket#. We had fruit, danishes, and oatmeal/cereal. Not bad and actually quite a bit to choose from for a continental breakfast. We were only in the area for a weekend wedding, so we weren't in our room for long. That being said, if you can reserve it for a lower price #below $100# a night, it might be worth the price. It has the very basic amenities and does the job if you are planning a visit for mostly sight-seeing. If you're picky about your bed and don't like to walk stairs, you might want to try somewhere else. I would recommend this hotel ONLY if you aren't picky and ONLY if you pay LESS than $100. We unfortunately didn't pay under $100 and wish we had.

The hotel was a good price for the area. It met our needs and was convenient to getting back and forth from Newport.
