Comfort Inn At Newport Beach

2.5 out of 5.0

Overall good stay. Clean. Perfect for one or two nights. Easy to get to downtown Newport and other specific locations. Would recommend to friend.

The beds need to go. They're like twin beds, two adults cant comfortably sleep in a "double" bed. The free breakfast is very convenient, but the paper coffee cups leak within 5 minutes-so drink your coffee fast. The bathroom was huge and clean with big sink, but the toiletries are useless. Unless you're bold, bring your own shampoo. Walk to First beach and Cliff Walk and 2 minute drive to Second beach and 5 minutes to Gooseberry beach.

Pretty standard hotel in great location right near the beach. Check in was easy, room was clean and spacious. Friendly staff at front desk.

Good location for going to first beach (although watch out for red tide). Rooms are dated and not very sound proof. AC units are old and loud. This hotel is frequented by families so you will hear kids running and yelling through the walls all night.

Close to the beach. Very humid though. A bit dated but not bad in price.

Arrived in evening, and hotel was convenient to Newport and attractions there.

The hotel was clean, I did not try the breakfast but seemed good. Bed was comfortable view was nice. It was close to two restaurants and parking was safe.

The room was clean and comfortable. I love the location due to the fact that I can run on the beach.

Overall a good stay-clean room-good breakfast, however view of ocean is obscured by street, wires and a building (really aren't ocean views in many of the rooms as we had paid the extra for) and the staff appeared disinterested in providing quality customer service.

The location of this hotel was exactly what we needed for the night. However, we walked in to a strange smell and realized that it was from a large amount of mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Unfortunately the hotel was completely booked and we didn't see the mold until the next morning. I would likely not stay here again.

Convenient, great location, professional & Friendly staff.

Great location. Great free daily breakfast. The indoor pool was very convienient for chillier days. It could be a little cleaner, but no biggie if you stay a couple of days. Overall would recomend.

Room is a little small for $300.00 on a Friday night, great location. Thin walls very noisy hallways. Beds & pillows were clean & comfortable. Because of the location we would go again.

Comfortable, big, quiet, clean, ocean view room! Coffee available all the time, breakfast was good and well maintained. The pool was lovely, the staff was very nice.

Not for the stuffy or hotel snobs..for a quick winter weekend getaway its perfect for the price...close to downtown, across from the beach and clean

Staff vey pleasant, room clean and comfortable. Perfect location for Salve Regina University

Nice place! Very clean. Looking and smelling. The windows opened (a little but not enough for a small child to fall out of). This was a nice surprise to that allowed us to let the ocean breeze in. Complimentary breakfast was nice and fresh and they didn't complaine or stop me for being a little late. They let us have a later check out (noon) for no additional charge. The pool was beautiful and I just put a toe in because I heard from a previous review that it wasn't heated. Temp was perfect. Staff was very nice and friendly. Highly recommend!

Pros: Right on Atlantic Beach and close to downtown Newport Cons: It's very pricey for a Comfort Inn, despite the good location. Had to scrounge for toilet paper. Shuttle is $8.00 per person and you can use it all day, however a cab to/from downtown is probably cheaper if you have more than 2 people. If you need a cab, call early. Despite being only 1.5 or so miles from downtown, cab companies seem to think it's the middle of nowhere.

Hotel location is excellent and everything was reasonable for the price -- EXCEPT the pool was cold. It would have been a great overall experience... if only the pool were heated.

The staff was friendly, the room was clean, the bed comfortable and the breakfast hot. The ocean is a two minute walk. Several restaurants within easy walking distance. Ask the front desk about getting a discount at several nearby eateries by showing your room key card.
