We looked at so many hotels & Noah's On the Beach was the best for everything. The location was amazing & we loved our view. It was so clean & the restaurant views/service were great. Can't wait to go back
Stayed for 2 nights, beautiful views, room compact but lovely. Staff friendly and other than slow lift doors, the accomodation was great. The restaurant also had amazing views of the ocean but the seafood platter for 2 we ordered was unusual to say the least...a couple of oysters/mussels, 1 scampi each, 2 prawns, small piece of fish and a couple of scallops was not great value for $99. The weird inclusion wasthe small 'duck fat' roast potatoes rather than chips...they were soggy and boring. I'm not a great fan of any fried food but to have no calamari or salt and pepper squid or chips was disappointing. Not great food.
I stayed in this hotel for one night for business. I had driven past it before and was keen to stay primarily because of its fantastic location across from the beach. Parking can be difficult and being in a 4WD was a real challenge in the small car park but not impossible. My room was on the third floor and disappointingly faced towards the harbour rather than the beach but not a massive issue for a one night business trip. The room itself was a little cramped for the furniture it had in it (one x queen, one x single bed) but the bed was nice and comfy. I thought the choice of furniture a little odd for a beachside hotel. A lot of dark colours rather like an Old English hotel. I would suggest to management an upgrade and perhaps have a beach theme to brighten the rooms up a bit? Other than that the room was ok and I was happy with it. I had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant with the dinner being a large table with 5 colleagues. The service was good, the staff attentive and I thought the food was worth the slightly expensive cost of it. Breakfast was a little ho hum if you weren't having a full cooked breakfast but again adequate and there are two really nice cafes in walking distance if you prefer to eat out. In the morning I went for a beautiful walk all the way to Mereweather Beach which was awesome and the scenery and sunrise spectacular. This really is the highlight of this hotel and I would highly recommend this walk if you are feeling energetic (it took me 90 minutes round trip at a brisk pace) Overall I really liked this place especially the location and will return with my wife in the near future but I will be sure to book an ocean room this time!
Happy to say I was really pleased when I arrived at Noah's on the Beach for our weekend just passed. The location is walking distance to many venues, shops, restaurants etc... The parking was easy, check in super fast and the staff certainly know how to make you feel welcome. Very efficient and friendly staff. The room was clean, had everything you need, and the bed was comfy with soft quality linen. Room is on the smallish side but the views from the balcony made up for it, such a beautiful vista across the ocean and beach, watching the residents enjoy walks and runs and meeting up. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet that we enjoyed with the best views in the house. Again, check out was quick and easy and we felt we would absolutely come back to stay. Nothing negative to say really.
I have usually stayed up the Honeysuckle end of Newcastle and thought to do something different this time - not disappointed. Be aware that there are major road renos happening right now because of the car race, so don't come in from the long beach road (I ended up in construction site - not to worry, my gps talking lady bad! Just go in via the water front). Hotel I believe is one of the originals and in prime position. Parking under the hotel; 24 hour service, lovely bar area and dining area. As to the room, all that one could wish for. My room was spotless, mini-bar (happy days) and all mod-cons. And a balcony! From front desk, to house-keeping staff were just lovely which I think always makes a place. Huge, comfortable bed. Excellent amenities all round, including free wifi, so nothing else to wish for. The staff are an absolute credit to this hotel. Thank you for having me.
The view from our room on the fifth floor was really beautiful... we could see only blue water. Having a balcony was also nice, so that we could hear the waves. Couldn't really hang out there too much because we chose a really windy day to stay in Newcastle. The room was also adequate. The bathroom had your typical overly harsh lighting and the floor needed to be redone, but other than that it was fine. The room came with a decent minibar and storage, as well as a tv with good channels. We only stayed one night but had a pleasant experience. There are lots of great restaurants nearby and we could walk to everything. We enjoyed walking to the nearby lighthouse, having tapas at Bocados, and brunch at East End Hub as well. Can't beat the location if you want to stay by the beach. And we took the train in from Sydney. It was an easy bus ride and then a five minute walk from Hamilton station.
I've been working for 2 international hotel chains in Sydney for 6 years and can honestly, Noah's gives many 4 and 5 star hotels a run for their money! Great service, beautiful views and clean rooms with nice decor. Will be back!
Have been to Noah's before and are happy to return. Unfortunately did not get n ocean view this time but room clean and well-maintained as always. Cocktails at the bar where very well made and a good selection served by friendly staff. Had dinner in the restaurant, prices were moderately high but considered worth it - food was absolutely superb and we enjoyed the evening tremendously. Buffet breakfast was nice overlooking the ocean, staff kept fresh food coming and was quite a selection. Defintely will book here again for our next visit.
Worth a stay if you are in Newcastle. Close to the beach. Good restaurant with undercover parking. Friendly staff . Rooms were comfortable and have some great views. Location to shops was within walking distance and also restraunts.
This is my second visit to Noah's and I look forward to returning. Newcastle Beach is just beautiful. The ocean view rooms, we were at mid height, were worth every cent. We enjoyed some amazing whale watching from our room and the dining room, and the sea and coastal views and sounds are stunning and so very restful. There are several great food places nearby that are easy strolling distance. We went to Rusticas, Bocado's and Scottie's (had takeaway in ou room, balcony doors open- balcony is v narrow). A longer but very enjoyable stroll meant that the wharf area can easily be enjoyed too. We only ate breakfast and it was one of the very best buffet breakfast I have ever eaten. The following week we stayed in Sydney at a 4+ star hotel and it was no where near as well prepared and presented. The level of cleanliness and presentation of the rooms and the property overall was exceptional. During very cold weather it was always comfortable. The only source of disappointment was that the brand/quality of the coffee was not to my taste and while it is ubiquitous, the use of tiny portions of long life milk in good hotels does not make me happy! I regularly use great 2 star places that give you fresh 300 ml milk for use in your room. Newcastle is a great place to relax. Thanks Noah's for being a great palce to stay.
