Hilton Newark Penn Station

This is a great hotel for visiting NYC. Hotel is connected by overpass to NJ Penn Station which was so convenient - and only a 20 minute ride to either NY Penn Station or One World Trade Center!! Also, the hotel has free shuttle to Newark airport. Hotel was very nice. Only thing they need to do is update rooms a little more. You can tell they've done some updating so the rooms seemed half finished. But they were clean which is most important. Staff was excellent!! Plus the cost savings were more that half of what it would have been to stay in NYC. Would stay here again!

It's convenient and much more affordable than staying in the city. Convenience was a bit less this time, due to train delays, as they upgrade tracks. I had a room above the street, and I'm a country boy. But the only noise that really got through was train whistles - and the loud latches on room doors that echoed down the hall. Security is great, but even if you close the door carefully, the latch clicks shut very loudly.

Very loud a/c unit that kept me up at night. Pillows that gave no head support & the contental breakfast was NOT complementary. Basically it was a good place to store our bags while we toured the area. Not much else to offer.

Overall the hotel was great with a nice room in my case had a view. Very nice staff. Located next to Penn Station and connected by an indoor bridge. The only aspect I would evaluate badly is the hotel shuttle. The system is disorganazied could be more efficient.

We got a great deal here so stayed in Jersey instead of paying 3 times more to stay in Manhattan. It required more time to get back and forth, but wasn't horrible. Being located at Penn Station made it doable. The room was clean and comfortable for our family of three. I would have liked a larger bathroom, but it was fine, especially for the rate we received.

My husband stayed at this hotel for 4days and 3 nights. The hotel's location is convenient for trips to NY and the Prudential Center (we watched a concert). The hotel staff was very nice and helpful in giving us directions on how to go to NY. The room is nice and clean. The bed and beddings were so comfortable to sleep in. In fact, I wanted to buy the bed set :). I would stay at this hotel again.

Perfectly nice and attached by skybridge to Newark-Penn very convenient to Amtrak and with Enterprise Rentals downstairs you can do business in the area using this as a hub and avoiding the airport.

Had a great stay - good location, clean, very nice staff - recommended...

I like how this hotel is conveniently located right across from the train station. I visited a nightclub in New York on Friday night and traveled by train. I rested in the room the following day then enjoyed a nearby Christmas concert that evening. The room was comfortable and suitable for a weekend getaway.

The Hilton is a very nice if unspectacular hotel located very conveniently for business in Newark, right next to the train station and connected by skybridge to the Gateway Center. As a Hilton Gold member, I got what must have been an upgrade--a huge bedroom with a separate sitting area with sofa and chairs, very nicely appointed and spacious. The rest of the hotel was fine. It had a surprisingly small breakfast area, and the offering there was disappointing, but overall the place was just fine.

The room was clean and pillows very comfy! The restaurant for breakfast was delicious, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The only thing that needs to be dealt with was the parking lot. Very confusing and hard to get to the rooms from there carrying all your luggage. No valet or anything by the front entry.

I stayed 4 nights for my NYC and Washington DC travel. The hotel is connected to subway and train station directly. It is too safe place, so I can come back to hotel around midnight with safety. If you have a plan go to NYC and Washington DC with public transportation, this hotel is a nice choice. But I have a car, I should pay more than 80 dollars for parking during 4 night. Parking fee is required any hotel around NYC. ;-)

I will definitely be staying at the Newark Penn Station Hilton again. The staff was unbelievably friendly and courteous. Every time I entered the lobby or got off the elevator, I was greeted with a smile and a kind word. The location is great, just took the NJ Path train to NYC and was in Times Square within 1/2 hour. The only somewhat negative thing i can say, which is nothing against the hotel, is that there aren't enough close by restaurants open on the weekends. Gateway Center, which is adjoined, is vacant on the weekends so I ended up going to the McDonalds in Oenn Station for breakfast. No big deal, but just a heads up for people. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It's a great place!

Perfect location to get into NYC- however lacks some amenities that would be nice- pool, in room fridge, coffee. I would like to see parking included in stay cost- it is discounted however when staying in the hotel free parking would be better. Staff was very nice!

After waiting an overly long time ( we called the hotel 3 times!) for the Hilton's shuttle to pick us up from Newark airport we didn't have high expectations for the hotel itself. But, fortunately, once we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. From the front desk staff to the bartender to the cleaning crew everyone was pleasant and helpful. The beds, linens and towels are exceptionally soft and comfy. Our only complaint bout the room is the lack of ventilation and a refrigerator. The room got very stuffy at night. Otherwise we highly recommend this hotel for the immediate location to the train station and it's overall comfort and nice staff.

i was put in a handicap room and the towels where in side the shower first night they got wet

The front desk staff was courteous and kind. The room was immaculate. My only negative was paying for parking. With the expense of the room you would figure parking would be included. Overall a great experience.

Maybe I am being unfair,Is a 4star supposed to be different in the West coast. Clearly I stayed at a 4star hotel in California and the quality is way better. Room was small, called operator and was greeted by "yes?". Clearly some rooms for improvement here. Probably not a come back, but the convenience to the Path is the only saving point.

Me and two of my buddies stayed here for 3 nights. Our primary goal was to watch the Dolphin jets game. Access to the stadium and to Newark Airport was superb. I doubt you could find better. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Heading into New York was also convenient, but not always pleasant. A lot of wait time at the train station and on the train. This could probably be attributed to the time of year...Thanksgiving weekend. Bottom line, if I come back to watch my Dolphins kick the Jets butt again I WILL stay at Newark Penn Station. If I come back to just visit New York, I'll probably stay in Manhattan....for alot more $$$ though.

We had a great time. The hotel's location was perfect right across the street from the train station. The room was nicely decorated and the beds were very comfortable. The staff could not have been more helpful.
