Not only is the hotel lobby not secure, anyone can walk into the lobby and go straight to the elevators and not be questioned by the front desk staff. Not once did the front desk staff look up every time I walked in or greet me. My deadbolt doorlock in my room was broken and did not lock from the inside when turned. Because I was already unpacked, I did not want to call the front desk and have to be disturbed to move rooms or have maintenance in my room at night. Thankfully the flip lock and opening the closet door to butt it against the room door was sufficient. When I first walked into the room it smelled of smoke and cleaner or air freshener trying to cover it up. It was a very strong smell. The ironing board was broken too. The legs would not lock so it could not stand up. Useless. The fan in the bathroom is connected to the light so if you are in the bathroom getting ready the fan has to be on and it is super loud and annoying. You cannot hear a phone ring or a tv.

This is a very nice hotel. It was safe and fairly quiet street sound wise for the location. We had some noisy neighbors one night but otherwise fine. They serve a good breakfast that was included and not common in Manhattan. Clean.

Visited NYC with the family for the first time. Great deal in comparison to the other hotels. Just big enough for our family if 4. Clean & quiet. Staff was friendly & accommodating. We walked almost everywhere except to Battery Park & the airport but it was relatively easy to get a taxi. Breakfast was a great bonus & perfect to get us started in the morning. Literally everything you need is within a block. Would definitely stay there again.

Walking distance to all of the downtown sites, convenient parking and good breakfast. We arrived early but our room was ready and there were no issues here.

Regular experience. Will not be back The room was just ok, hair everywhere, stuff friendly.

I read the reviews & saw the wifi was bad so I should have known. It was VERY spotty and probably cost us a lot of data when it went off line & we didn't know. We kept our phones on airplane mode most the time. But the staff did offer to move us to a room closer to the front of the hotel where they say it's better. Who knows. We didn't bother. The location is great. Lyfts could find us easily. There's a Starbucks at the end of the block going both directions which is lovely. To buy postcards look for the 10 for a buck option although there's one place at the end of Times Square that has 15 for a buck! The staff at the hotel are all very friendly at the front desk, with housekeeping, & at the breakfast area. Since dining in NYC is so pricey the breakfast perk is really awesome. The staff keep the food plentiful. Our room was clean and big enough. Nothing fancy. Bed was fine. Towels were scratchy but the water was HOT (dangerously so if you're not careful) but felt wonderful after a day in the city grime. Smart Water is only $2 in the lobby. We were given a cot for free for one night when our kid needed to stay over which was really nice. (Regularly a $30 fee.) THANK YOU for that! The lobby has nice couches for waiting. It's very pretty. You don't feel like you are in a cheap hotel even though it was very economical. We were gone most of the time. This is a hotel to come back to to eat and sleep, not hang out. It's good for student groups and families. I would stay here again.

General manager is excellent. Great location to a lot of things and events.

We had a clean room in a safe location. The breakfast made a good start to our day. We were able to get to many places in New York. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We had stayed here before and will return again.

Has gone downhill since my last stay. I would add more, but that sums it up if the quality has gone down.

The location is great. It's not far from subway lines. Times Square is not a long walk away, and there's tons of shopping and restaurants nearby. The room was spacious for a NYC hotel room. We even had a closet to store our coats in. The last day, one of the subway lines was down, which we needed; so the receptionist at the front desk walked us through other alternatives to get where we needed to go. He was very helpful.

Room was basic but spacious for NYC. I loved the location!

We stayed at this hotel several years ago with a daughter and her family and were impressed by the location and neighborhood. This time, taking our other daughter and her family, we found both of the rooms we rented not completely clean (stuff in sides of overstuffed chair, stuff on rugs, exhaust fan in one bathroom not working, hair on ceiling of bathroom, etc.) Plus, one day, one of our rooms did not receive attention by the cleaning staff. Overall, the staff was wonderful and accommodating - their directions and recommendations for meals were terrific. So, in spite of the few items mentioned above, I would return to this hotel if I have occasion to visit NYC again. However, I did find that the cost we paid and value received did not match. I would NOT make my reservations through ORBITZ again - the cost would have been much less if I had thought to contact the hotel directly.

Gross Room, had black sticky substance all over the flooor No Cell Service af all in the Room ( ATT or T-Mobile , Poor wifi if any, Constant dropping of signal. No Doorman to help with bags. Lobby was gross and staff was cold and would prefer to not be there

This was a great location for a 4 day visit to site see. The hotel was clean, quiet and accommodating to us as visitors to the city.

Stayed for 4 days. Good location. Professional staff. Room small and a little aged. Free breakfast motel quality with really bad coffee.

Nice room, big bed. Great breakfast. Convenient location.

I like this hotel and always stay there when I am in NYC for work. The rooms are always clean and the showers have good water pressure. However, this particular stay was not as comfortable as normal. I was on the 2nd floor. Outside of my window was a few feet of concrete and then a concrete wall. In that space (outside) was a roll of toilet paper and some other litter. Not particularly pleasant. More importantly though, in that room I had no cell service and was unable to get a signal for the complimentary wifi.

great i would stay again and again staff is great and everything was nice sleep well too

friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Breakfast in the morning was basic buffet but very good.

The room was clean, furnishing looked new, no roaches had security , and the breakfast was well stocked
