I have never gave a negative review to anywhere I stayed before like this one. I have never stayed at The Paul Hotel before and thought to give it a try. Booked almost 3 weeks ahead via Orbitz and paid extra for 24 hour cancelation protection. Got an email from Paul Hotel after the cancelation period "The Paul Hotel is closed to the Public and we will need to relocate you immediately to TRYP". Then got charged extra by TRYP. I talked to Orbitz and they have assured this is against their policies. I do NOT recommand The Paul Hotel and will not book it for myself again.

I usually don't have time to review hotels but will take the time for this one as I have seen so many negative comments about it. Just to be clear I'm not affiliated with this hotel whatsoever. I'm just a frequent traveler and can say have learned from experience. This hotel is located in Midtown Manhattan, close to almost everything New York has to offer to its tourists. I stayed in a 2 bed room, my bed was comfortable which is a must when I travel. I had plenty of soft pillows, dark blinds, and that's all it matters. Now, rooms are small, it's New York! can't expect more unless you stay on a 5 star hotel and even though I doubt they have bigger rooms. Bathroom was small but enough for two people who only showered and went out to explore. Overall was clean, staff very friendly, they even allowed us to leave our luggage way before our check in time. If I had issues with my room? don't we all? but they were very quick to fix it. I would not change anything about it because I had everything I needed and more!

Cabinets were broken and a huge burn mark on top of the counter. No bar or restaurant. All ice machines were not in use.

Liked the midtown location. The room was clean and the bedding was ok- the 2 double beds were tight. The heating and cooling was good. Unfortunately the sliding bathroom door was very hard to move and the handle was falling off. The shower/hot water didn't work well at all- it was warm, then scolding hot, then cold with every shower. The location was the best part- but not worth the cost, esp. when they jack up the prices around the holidays.

Room 706 door lock didn't work. So I relied on the chain lock. I know that the door lock by itself but being NY city I think the lock should work. The mirror light didn't work either.

We have to remind them for extra toilet’s paper, they didn’t clean well the room, they 1 or 2 days didn’t make the beds

It was comfortable but had roaches ☹️ Parking lot I was referred was closed🙄

This hotel was okay, nothing special but nothing terrible. Beds were fine. Tiny room and bathroom. Our ac was not working, nor was our tv remote, and within minutes of calling, they came and fixed everything. Everything was a bit cheap. Our ice bucket leaked, our ironing board needed to be replaced and we had to battle with the window shades. But, it was okay.

When we checked in our door was already propped open and there was trash in the bathroom can.

Clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced!

The hotel was very clean and nice place

Fir the price, it is a good hotel. The location is the main reason customers should stay in the hotel. The staff were nice. The rooms were much better than other hotels of the same price. I had some neighbors that were loud and I could heard them a lot. The hotel could work on the sound proofing of the rooms (room to room and room to outside). The shower could have been cleaner. They should use caulking that does not allow mold to grow. Other than that, i was pleased. The price and the location make this hotel a perfect place to stay for a few nights and be near just about everything. I went on a run and i was about 30 minutes from WTC.

Comfortable bed. Room lacked charm and carpet.

Location was great a block from train. They wanted and early check in fee of $50 when I tried for noon, but they were ok with checking our bags until 3 so we could explore city. Also, our bunk beds each had a tv makng 3 for small room - overkill as one would be sufficient. Surprised by the $14 "resort fee" - but at least it was per room and not occupant - this is far from resort - its a bare bones hotel in small rooms, but clean and affordable even with extra fees - would stay again for the price ($150 total)
