The Jewel facing Rockefeller Center

4.0 out of 5.0

Spent very little time in the room, but it had everything we needed, and a wonderful view of Rockefeller Center. Accessible to everything on our agenda, and Iris and the staff were so pleasant and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

Loved the Jewel, excellent location, will try to book there for every visit.

Great hotel with fantastic location. Water fountain in every floor with sealed bottles made it really easy to get water instead of paying a hefty price for it. Location is right next to rockerfeller and close to great cafe's and restaurants. Definitely recommend staying here.

Perfectly located for our Trip and planned activities.

I'll never stay anywhere else. The hotel was within walking distance to everywhere I wanted to go. The staff was incredibly friendly. Iris made sure we had everything we needed during and after our stay.

The hotel is located in a convenient, central location, if you are interested in seeing the sights around Rockefeller Center and 5th Avenue. The hotel staff seemed to be distracted, or too busy to assist when help was requested. The lobby area is very small and the elevators can be an issue accessing during heavy check-in periods. However, if you are visiting NYC, you are not really room too much, so having a convenient hotel location is a major plus.

Room small. Bed uncomfortable. No fridge. Poor room temp control. Great location.

Great location for all the Christmas stuff. Staff was very helpful.

Tiny lobby often overcrowded with dozens of patrons, one overworked front desk clerk. Only two elevators, neither of which worked after 6 pm 12/6/16. Elderly, & family patrons struggling up 12 floors of small stairways. Nice decor, nice staff. My sympathy for all.

Not sure if I would ever stay here again..way too much traffic and CROWDS of people nearby!! Have traveled to NYC for 30 years for business...Reception is okay. Generally just one person..if you have safe requirements. Try a different hotel.. no lock up safes in room... you have to go with desk clerk to basement where there are small drawers to put valuables . Lock. And wait for clerk again when u need things..and she has to go with you again! Dumbest thing I have ever experienced!

Located near Rockefeller Center..walking distance to Time Square....

Close to Rockefeller Center & St Patrick's Cathedral. Great location

This is the second time I stayed at this little hotel. It's a great hideaway and even during the busy Thanksgiving season, it was a reasonably peaceful stay. I always prefer rooms at the back of the hotel. My 7-day stay was part of a 25-day trip and the complimentary washer/dryer on the 5th floor was perfect for me as I'd worn 10 days worth of clothes by the end of my stay there. The Club Quarters restaurant 3 doors down is affiliated with the Jewel and gives you a 20% discount and lets you charge meals to the room. The food is really good. There;s a post office in Rockefeller Center, a Duane Reade at the end of the block, and a FedEx right around the corner. Tree lighting dayis a hassle for catching a cab but other than that, there are always cabs going past the Jewel.

We arrived at our hotel around 5pm and when we walked in there were 3 computers and then a hotel staff member at the front desk. He looked at us with our suitcases and did not even greet us. I then had to ask if we had to check in on the computers or if he could check us in. Still no greeting and all he said was, "what's your last name?". He then gave us our room keys and told us our room number. He explained nothing to us, fitness center, water machine or coffee machine location, or that there are extra pillows/sheets/ironing boards on each floor. He also did not tell us that we had to insert the key to work the elevator. The room was a decent size and was clean. Overall for the price we paid and how close it was to Rockefellar, I would stay here again, I just wish we had a better first impression.

The hotel is unique. The rooms are small but well equipped and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. (The hotel only has synthetic pillows so if you like down, plan ahead.). The room was quiet and the blackout curtains worked well. There is what they call a "living room" on the second floor. It has a free cappuccino/latte machine which I loved. The hotel had bottles and filtered water on every floor, which is handy. There is no extra charge for this either. The staff is very nice, friendly and thoughtful. Everyone has a smile. There are several restaurants nearby and some offer nice discounts.

My friend and I loved our stay and it was so close to Central Park and espcially Rockefeller Plaza. Very nice and accommodating staff.

Great location. Room is very functional and free chilled purified water at each floor is great.

We found everything from the staff to the location, to the condition of the hotel to be perfect. We will definitely recommend this hotel to all we know and we will be back. Thanks so much for a great week in NYC.

Great staff good area close to radio music hall ! Staff waiting and willing to serve the guest !

Took a chance on a non-big chain hotel because of theater location and was happily surprised and pleased with location and overall experience with the Jewel. Hotel was well furnished, comfortable and felt very safe, well positioned for theater going, Matt Lauer viewing and dining.
