Super 8 Brooklyn / Park Slope Hotel

We have stayed here several times so it was what we expected. We could walk to our daughter's house on 2nd street which made it very convenient. The wood floors amplify every noise but they do look lovely! Room was clean and comfortable and staff was friendly and supportive. Not a "grand hotel" but a great value for us.

Good location near some good food. The BBQ restaurant around the corner is fantastic. Lots of good restaurants from which to choose. Seemed safe and near transportation. The hotel could use new toilet seats, but otherwise was fine.

Just a one night stay was relatively peaceful - no events good, bad or otherwise to mention. Basement room is slightly depressing (my personal opinion of most basements) but the value was great. The location is excellent if you are the type to spend your time out and about in New York, especially given the closeness to downtown Manhattan.

Fantastic location, so close to everything. Great neighborhood feeling.

the Hotel was very clean, but our room was very small, it fit a bed (king size) if you plan on only sleeping in room, it's fine. front desk very friendly, housekeeping very friendly. my only complaint would be walls are very thin, can hear TV, music, etc from other rooms. over all rating 7 out of 10 ****.

This is our second stay at this location and we were not disappointed. The rooms are not huge but did look very clean and newly renovated. Staff was very friendly. The cost compared to staying in Manhattan is amazing. The subway is one block away (the hotel sits on the corner of the city block and the subway is on the diagonal corner of the same city block) and you can get anywhere into Manhattan in about 20 minutes. But when you do walk to the subway you will need to cross the street to get the direction for Manhattan. When returning you come up the stairs on the block with the hotel and you won't cross any street. We easily went to Rockefeller Center and a Broadway show. They have paid parking available which is great for us too. The breakfast assortment looked great but we usually prefer a cooked breakfast. There is a great diner right by the subway steps. There is also one on the first corner near the hotel but the food isn't as good.

We normally stay in VRBO rentals in the Carroll Garden's and Gowanus areas when we visit New York however this time our "regular" spots were booked. We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to the places we like to frequent when visiting Brooklyn. Our expectations were low base on what we thought we knew about Super 8's - however we were nicely surprised. The location is convenient to most of what Brooklyn has to offer - the hotel is SUPER CLEAN and the staff is SUPER FRIENDLY. We stayed 3 nights and had a great experience. This hotel is now on the list as one of our "regular" spots to stay when we visit.

I was in town for a concert at the Barclay center and chose this hotel for it's proximity - and what good fortune ! Easily walkable to the arena but it's also only one block from a nearby subway station that'll take you right into Manhattan. It's very easily accessible to JFK airport by train. The room was clean and the staff was very helpful and courteous. There's a continental breakfast every morning (if you don't want to venture out for a bagel). The room wasn't large but it had a king sized bed, a full armoire for clothes, a desk, and a wall-mounted flat screen. Never felt too cramped for me - even when I had a couple of people over. Bathroom was re-stocked with soaps and clean towels daily. Very well kept place. The neighborhood is fun and inviting, with lots of great restaurants and shops for when you do go out. Had a great time - would definitely stay again.

Very nice. The hotel staff was so friendly and what a great location, just a block from the subway. I was also surprised how quiet the place was considering it's in the city. The breakfast was minimal and the fruit and yogurt ran out quickly. Lots of places to eat just a block or 2 away. Park Slope area is a great place to explore. Definitely would recommend to anyway wanting to visit the city.

Convenient to the Brooklyn cruise terminal. Good neighborhood as long as you go north form hotel.

New facility in good shape. Rooms clean and functional. Staff good but often hard to find - they seemed short handed.

This was my second stay at this hotel. Rooms are small but very clean. Got a king room overlooking 3rd Ave. With the AC on it was very quiet and exceptionally clean. My only complaint was that the tv remote didn't work. Other than that it's an inexpensive hotel by NY standards and in a great location. The subway is only a block away and there are lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance.

From May to September, Coney Island features "Burlesque at the Beach" on Thursday and Friday nights. We try to catch a couple of shows each month, and need to stay over in Brooklyn when we do because our buses don't run late enough for us to get home to NJ. We tried a few different hotels, but this Super 8 is clearly superior to the others in a few ways. First, the location is excellent. One block from the subway, in an active area which is safe 24/7. There are a few places open at all hours as well, so guests are no more than a lock away from food or drink at any time of the day or night. And if it's not too early or too late, there is a terrific BBQ restaurant around the corner on Union Street. Second, the property seems newly-renovated and very clean. No offending odors in any of the rooms in which we've stayed, and quite comfortable overall. We have yet to try breakfast, so I can't comment on that. Third, the price is very good, even for a small Brooklyn hotel, and the rooms aren't as tiny as in most NYC-area hotels. The staff was helpful (one recurring problem is with the remote control units for the TV), and when I needed an extra pillow for our king bed the housekeeper on the floor simply gave me one.

The hotel was fine and in a good location for catching the subway. We did not spend a lot of time at the hotel but it served well for a home base. Room was clean, continental breakfast was the usual stuff, staff were friendly.

This is just what I wanted: a no-frills place to sleep (no need for glitzy amenities) but CLEAN (which it was) Rooms come with iron and ironing board, flat screen TV (but only a limited number of channels), a little Fridge and hair dryer. The free breakfast features cold cereals, do-it-yourself waffles, fresh fruit, apple and orange juice and, of course, coffee. Friendly and helpful staff.

My wife and I are big fans of burlesque, and attend Coney Island's "Burlesque at the Beach" at least a few times between May and September. However, when we do, we have to stay over in the city because our last bus home doesn't run late enough. We've stayed at a few different hotels in Brooklyn over the past few years, and this Super 8 is the best bargain so far. The floors look newly finished, the room was very clean, the staff was helpful with our one minor problem (non-working TV remote), the room refrigerator is quite large, the bathroom was spacious and the room was a comfortable size. The hotel is only a block from the subway station, near which are a great Dinosaur BBQ and a few 24/7 stores. The area is well-lit and safe. I think we've found our new overnight destination when staying in Brooklyn.

Located in Gowanus/ Park Slope near the R train, this is a solid hotel at a great price for NY hotels. I stay here primarily for business and I'm comfortable there. Clean, good sized rooms are diminished only by the thinness of the walls. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was pedestrian. I'll continue to use this Hotel. It works just fine.

a Super 8 seems a deal, at (about) $175.00. However, let me qualify what might at first seem like an outrageous amount anywhere else in the US. - CONVENIENT. Oh yeah! ONE block from the R train, and a straight shot into the City. A quick bike or taxi ride to just about anywhere in Brooklyn too. - Reasonable. The room (while not 'big') was more than adequate for two people, sharing a room, w/2 beds and space for luggage and gear. - Quiet & Safe. In NYC these are both key things. And even though it's on a busy (see convenient) street, it was REALLY quiet. All the rooms face a large undeveloped lot. We easily slept into 8, when the sun shining in woke us up - we left the curtains open. Lobby was bright, safe and staffed 24/7. Parking lot was secure, and all areas were monitored via CCTV. - Clean. At this price range you might be worried. DON'T be. Rooms (and bathrooms!) were spotless. Friendly/Helpful staff - if we needed something, we asked. And the replies were prompt and courteous. I travel about 130 days a year for work, and stay in 3 to 5 star hotels every week. This was a GREAT deal for the money, in NYC. - Nearby - there's a bar across the street, a great (!) taqueria down the block, and charming cafes, boutiques and other businesses all within easy walking distance. PLUS, it's right off the BQE when you drive in. I'll be back. For sure.

this hotel is in the middle of nowhere and the staff are rude

Hotel was very nice, the rooms were clean, the staff was very good. Parking was tight. No early check in.
