Sheraton JFK Airport Hotel

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

This hotel charges their guest $30 to park, and visitors. Also the doors into the bathroom have a one inch gap so you can't close the doors. There is no mini fridge, or microwave to heat anything . Rooms are small felt clustaphobic

From the beginning of the booking of the room I was dissatisfied with Orbiz and the way the matter was conducted then the room bed sheets were not clean the tv froze up the pressing iron didn't work properly there was no complimentary breakfast as advertised parking was atrocious

Hotel was close to airport but I got a room on the 5th floor I guess that's on the side where the aircrafts land at JFK, in addition I think the room was close to the service stair case so whenever the door is pushed open or close the noise is unbearable in the room.

The location is great if you need to stay overnight before your next flight. Free shuttle to/from the airport, decent rooms, and good service. There is nothing around the place and you need to take a taxi to get in the city. There is an onsite restaurateur/bar with prices as you might expect.

Convenient, but it is too expensive. The room is small furnishings old. Restaurant looks like a cafeteria and the food is outrageously expensive. I got a sale rate for 5 nights at $125 but the 6th night because I asked for extension was $179 . Usually rate $189. Ridiculous for this hotel. Then they refused to give me senior discount rate because I booked through Orbitz.

It took too long for the shuttle to pick up the passengers, it's New York in Jan dude. The room is fairly clean, the furnishing, as well as the lobby, is really traditional though...too traditional for a Sheraton I think. I will probably choose a different hotel if possible in future.

Got stranded trying to get out of NYC during election protests and ended up missing my flight home after 3 hours of traffic. Was dreading having to stay near the airport but thankfully I landed on Sheraton. Their front desk staff couldn't have been more welcoming or friendly, which immediately put me at ease after a very stressful day. Lobby was modern, cozy, and well appointed. Room was large, very clean, and had a very modern bathroom that completely surpassed the dumpy one of the "4 Star" hotels in NYC from where I ultimately had to flee and rebook another room elsewhere! Same thing goes for the staff at front desk and throughout. Not sure if it's because I am an SPG gold member but was pleasantly surprised to find a comfy robe in my room. Shuttle was right on time and had us at the airport quickly. Thank you guys for being a bright light during an otherwise stressful travel experience.

The room air/heat was from an old, noisy unit under the window. Booking website said breakfast included but turned out was only for select more expensive rooms. Main pro is location near airport and friendly, helpful staff.

The room is big enough and clean! The location is near jfk airport! It is very convience. There is shuttlebus to airport. The staff is nice, but the roomservice is not good. After several time calls, the blanket is not arrival still!

Not bad but nothing special. Airport shuttle, clean rooms (no mini bar or refrigerator), having the restaurant in the hotel is nice but the food could be better. The beds are very comfortable, pillows were great! Staff was very friendly.

would never stay there hallways were dirty shuttle driver rude room carpet dirty had to move from first room across hall from a monthly renter with door open never stay there

This Hotel is located next to a garbage dump and the stench in the whole area is unbearable. Room service is pathetic. We ordered 2 Continental breakfasts, they came with frozen English muffins and NO coffee.

Not a great area but secure behind a fence. Lobby and processing could use some help, but a nice restaurant and wonderful rooms. Price high, but worth it to be at airport in just a few minutes.

Never made it there. My beef is that my flight got canceled because of the big snow storm in NY. [...]said the hotel's general manger refused to refund or credit my three nights of reservations.Ultimately, I called [...]again, who called the hotel again. They finally agreed to let me cancel. But the fact that they refused to let me cancel in the middle of a big snow storm I thought was outrageous. Think twice about booking a room here if you have questions about the weather.

Adajacent rooms were perfect for our large family. Location was perfect for overnighting before our early morning flight to London.

I went to New York to have a surprise visit with a friend from the past. This hotel was an great location. Very easy to get to from the airport. There is a major mall near the hotel. Just drive straight down the street a few miles from the hotel -- no turns until you get there. The staff was professional, but friendly and extremely helpful. I will stay there again and would recommend it to anyone. The parking fee is reasonable for New York. The restaurant staff is very polite, the food is over-priced and not that good.

Spent the weekend with my spouse and was allowed the privacy and relaxed atmosphere we needed.

We were there momentarily to catch an outgoing flight, but we were able to get in and out quickly. I despise hotel circles near airports but this wasnt so bad. Would definietly recommend it, although food seemed expensive (we didnt have time to partake)

Nice rooms, well decorated."State of the art" fitness center consists of two nice treadmills, two older ellipticals, two mid-range recumbents. Two sets of plastic dumbells, a scale and water rounds out this overstated amenity.Hotel sits on a final approach vector for JFK, so depending on the prevailing wind you may have planes flying over the hotel all day and night. Not too noisey with windows closed, but if you want fresh air AND to be able to watch TV you´re in for an unwelcome surprise. Now, for the best part: As of today, some 36 hours after checking out, I have been charged roughly three times for the same one-night stay. Orbitz charged me as a prepaid reservation, but Sheraton claims they never received payment from Orbitz, so they charged me again. I went to the front desk where a seemingly nice (but ultimately clueless) man named [...] told me he had "taken care of it". Pure BS. Now, I have another charge on my credit card for my troubles. A total of $740 has been charged to my credit card for one night (at a $229 rate, by the way).Nice place, not worth the hassle. Find another hotel, and probably another hotel chain. Too bad.

It was like being a guest at Ralph Lauren's home it was so perfect and his style!
