New York Marriott East Side

Easy to get everywhere. Walked to Rockefeller center UN and Time Square.

My experience was very comfortable. The staff was nice, beautiful christmas decoration, cleaning rooms and excellent location.

I'm going to list all the items about my experience. Check-in had only one person checking everyone in while 20 guest were waiting. Room had mold in bathroom and paint was chipping on the ceiling in bathroom. Had to ask for housekeeping to clean the room at 5:00pm as no house keeping was done on our room on the first night. First morning a manager stops us to give a sales pitch about Marriott gallery somewhere up town. Not interested. Twenty five dollar fee for resort fee was a waste of money. Front lobby doors both glass and rotating were not working properly. Bell-hops were rude when trying to get out of the building. Nowhere to sit in the lobby to wait for people. Elevators were so small and slow people were waiting to get to their floors from the lobby. Rooms had twin beds for 4 people NOT COMFORTABLE! Room did not have noise proof windows and you could hear everything going on outside. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone given the price we paid.

Good except for last minute hidden costs. When asked, I got a lame excuse. Basically they give you the boot at the very end with undisclosed extra costs.

My only complaint is that we were not told there would be an additional cost of $25.00 plus tax per night. When we questioned it, they said it was for the free wifi which is $19.95 day or to be applied towards breakfast which we had no idea. Sounded fishy as if this is the response they have been trained to give. However, we had breakfast and ended up paying full amount as we at no time were told we could apply this or use this. Basically, this was a fee shoved under our door the day of check out. I understand many hotels do this now. But the fact we were not told, if find a bit deceptive. Not what I am used to in a Marriott.

Had a great experience. Room was very spacious. Only disappointment was the $25.00 a day experience fee attached at the hotel. Didn't feel like I got anything for it.

We had a great time in NYC. Saw the sites and beautiful weather. Love using Orbitz to plan our trips.

Our room was ready earlier than expected and proved to be very quiet. It was furnished nicely and the bathroom was big enough and updated well. The two double beds were very comfortable. Public transportation was very handy (the subway was within one to two blocks, depending upon which direction you wished to go). The hotel cafe was decent and there were good wines available in the bar. The exercise room on the 35th floor was also a hit.

Very friendly staff. Very helpful. Everything I needed they already had or quickly brought up to my room.

I arrived late and the guy in the front desk was in a hurry and he didn't explain nothing. I had to pay $150.00 for check-in and then when I Check out they didn't give me my money back.

Friendly staff and great location. The rooms were nice and cozy. The fitness center was great.

The room was ok, but the infrastructure, especially in the elevators is showing its age. What bothered me most are the nickel and diming on "extras" that are standard at comparable hotels at the same price.

Only problem we had was that we were told at check-in that there would be no charge for internet and yet it showed up on our bill to the tune of $17/day. We objected, they apologized, and dropped the charge. Was supposed to be charged given our booking through Orbitz rather than directly as a Marriott Rewards customer. But, a good place to stay and convenient to Grand Central Station.

Very nice hotel. Exceeded my expectations. Fantastic location.

My hotel experience I had to say was excellent, no complaints until the last hour. As I enter the shower and began to lather myself, the water pressure began to lessen. I exited the shower to contact the main desk to report the problem. To my surprise the employee at the front desk informed me that the water meter or something of the sorts was being replaced and the water would return in 30 minutes. So for 30 minutes I sat with soap lathered all throughout my body until the water returned only to wait, an additional five minutes due to Flint, Michigan water that flowed out of the pipes before I could continue my shower. But the staff was courteous to extend my checkout time.

The staff was amazing!! Everyone, from the front desk clerk to the manager.

Was comfortable. Old construction. Close to everything.

Amazing location, walking distance to major attractions, staff went above and beyond to make this weekend stay memorable! They upgraded our room, and provided us with a bottle of wine and some appetizers to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks so much to Sylvia, she made this happen!

Nice, clean and well located hotel near most attractions in NY, 15 min walk to Times Square, near Empire State Building and Central Park. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I love the bedroom and how clean the rooms are. Will stay here again.

Good Location. Clean. Good staff. Nice size rooms.
