My hotel experience I had to say was excellent, no complaints until the last hour. As I enter the shower and began to lather myself, the water pressure began to lessen. I exited the shower to contact the main desk to report the problem. To my surprise the employee at the front desk informed me that the water meter or something of the sorts was being replaced and the water would return in 30 minutes. So for 30 minutes I sat with soap lathered all throughout my body until the water returned only to wait, an additional five minutes due to Flint, Michigan water that flowed out of the pipes before I could continue my shower. But the staff was courteous to extend my checkout time.
The staff was amazing!! Everyone, from the front desk clerk to the manager.
Was comfortable. Old construction. Close to everything.
Amazing location, walking distance to major attractions, staff went above and beyond to make this weekend stay memorable! They upgraded our room, and provided us with a bottle of wine and some appetizers to celebrate our anniversary. Thanks so much to Sylvia, she made this happen!
Nice, clean and well located hotel near most attractions in NY, 15 min walk to Times Square, near Empire State Building and Central Park. The staff is friendly and welcoming. I love the bedroom and how clean the rooms are. Will stay here again.
Good Location. Clean. Good staff. Nice size rooms.
Our family really enjoyed our four night stay at the Marriott East Side. The room was clean and bigger than I expected; the hotel staff were great and always very helpful with directions, sight-seeing and travel accommodations.
The hotel is in a really good location, you can reach everything from there.
3 starts max. Everything in the room is old and needs to be replaced: furniture, carpet, wallpaper, bathroom - EVERYTHING. Just disgusting.
The staff were execellant and helpful. Would go back
If you want to be welcomed by warm personable staff then this is the place. We were in NYC for 5 days and loved Marriot East Side. Rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. There are plenty of dining options both in and around the hotel to satisfy any need. I suggest the organic grocery that is adjacent to the Marriott. It was wonderful. Only negative was a overactive radiator some nights but hey it a radiator. Without a doubt Manhattan's best value. If you are looking for more than they offer you came to the wrong place. It's friggin New York! Why would you spend all your time in the hotel?!? LOL!! I will be back and that's a promise!
Staff was nice. The room was extremely small. They charge $16.99 a day for WiFi, and I had to pay to use the business center. No breakfast, and no room service that I saw. The hotel was nice and clean , but lacks amenities that I can get for free at other properties. I would not stay here again
The hotel is reasonably nice and clean The staff is amazing very helpful and friendly. There's a restaurant and lounge in clear view as you walk inside the large lobby. We were greater with warm cookies and hot chocolate as we walked into the hotel , after a long day of traveling it was so refreshing. The next day they placed out warm pastries and chocolate filled croissants The rooms are small but clean ,we were on the 11th floor the view was the side of the Marriot building our room faced other guest rooms so we kept our window closed most of the time. The bathroom was tiny and clean there was the usual shower over the Tub. There was a desk in the room , one chair with a small table .We had two dressers ,the large dresser held a compact fridge inside and the top held a tiny coffee maker and a box that held supplies for the coffee maker creamer , sugar etc. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was very quiet ,we slept very well.
Great hotel and very convenient location! Within walking distance to Central Park,Times Square, St Patrick's Cathedral, Radio City Music Hall and many more tourist attractions and great restaurants
Really enjoyed staying at this hotel! Pros: Nice older building but totally up-to-date inside Great location in Midtown East Very Pleasant and Efficient Staff Comfortable Beds Parking Onsite ($75 for 24 hours with valet, very convenient) Gift Shop on ground floor Easy Check-in Good Room with Comfortable Beds Cons: Nome that I can think of. Stayed here overnight when in town for a wedding weekend. Loved the hotel and would stay here again. My favourite thing (in addition to the comfortable beds) was how helpful the staff were. The bellhops were friendly and super efficient. I called in the morning for help with luggage and it seemed that the bellhop was knocking on my door before I'd even hung up the phone. They stored my luggage until I could pick it up later that morning, at which time they retrieved it quickly and packed it in my car for me. Speaking of cars, the valet drivers were super-fast and very friendly. The front-desk staff were also helpful and friendly, and the gift-shop worker helped me select a tie that would match the suit I was wearing to the wedding (I packed a black tie forgetting that I was wearing a grey suit with brown shoes...for shame). They even had people "manning the lobby" welcoming people to the hotel. It was really, really nice.
5 blocks away from Times Square, 7 blocks from Central Park, nice places to eat near the hotel, Subway is 2 blocks away.
Overall experience was great. Only complaint is the mattress. Not the most comfortable but room was still clean and nice.
It was a very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Location was great.
Awesome 1st time trip to New York for our family of 5. All staff encountered were extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and super nice. From reservation desk, concierge to Bell Men great friendly help. Not to mention we were very impressed with the history of the hotel, the beautiful lobby and the rooms were very good size and had luxury finishes with lots of character for the value. To our delight our room's window had a perfect view of the Chrysler Building. Just gorgeous at night. We had a most wonderful family trip. And, the Marriott just enhanced our whole trip with our comfortable rooms and convenient location too. I would definitely come back to the Marriott East when we come back to New York. And would absolutely recommend it to all.
Highly Recommend- Great Location- walked to all major attractions. The hotel provided complimentary hot chocolate and donuts in the morning and fresh apples upon check in and check out. Only area for improvement is the valet line to get your car- 30 min wait then we were told they had the wrong ticket number- had to wait another 20 min.
