Hilton New York Grand Central

This was an ok hotel. Made repeated calls to the front desk because we never could get an Internet connection. Never did have a successful connection. Lukewarm water in shower, maybe hot for a few minutes. No remote for TV, no fan in the bathroom. Think we were just paying for the location.

Good location, rooms are clean, friendly and efficient stuff. Solved WiFi problem and agreed to a late checkout.

The hotel was not at all what I expected from a Hilton Hotel. It was clearly a retrofitted apartment bldg with an unattractive lobby, low ceilings and devoid of charm. Despite having arrived after 5pm, we were told our room wasn't ready and there was no other room available, and would we mind waiting. After we explained we needed to get ready for an event beginning in less than an hour, we were assigned a different room, which was oK but not great. Despite the poor amenities, the staff were generally helpful and the doorman was very nice and helped us get a cab during rush hour. The best thing about the hotel was the location--around the corner from the UN.

Staff was rather unfriendly and when inquired about various amenities, they seemed very disgruntled and annoyed at our requests. One staff told us to "look it up in the book." The lightings in the room are controlled by electronic buttons. Ours decided to spontaneously turned on sporadically throughout the evening, and the staff took over 2 hrs to get anyone to come and assist us. I wouldn't stay here ever again

Location is #1 for me in a hotel so this is perfect. 5 min walk from grand central station you could potentially do this with luggage outside of peak rush hour pedestrian traffic surprisingly when you get closer to the hotel is is not very busy or loud. There is no room service but there are so many nice places to eat in the area in every price range nearby. The hotel has small rooms - ok - you have to understand that going to a nyc hotel, but the bathroom is very nice, very comfortable bed. We really liked this hotel and this neighborhood.

We spent four nights at The Hilton Manhattan East and enjoyed being close to many attractions.

Excellent anniversary hideaway. Quite and very clean.

The lobby and room have a musty and moldy smell. The hotel really needs to clean their ventilation system. To make the experience worse, this hotel does not have Fox News Channel on TV. I had to watch the news on my laptop. I am a very easy-going traveler, but this experience was truly unpleasant. I have stayed at trashy motels during my road trips in college that were much better than this Hilton. Not recommended.

We stayed here for a festival for two days, the room was pretty spacious and very clean, and the location is great as it's not far from grand central station. The staff was very friendly as as well, I would deffinently recommend.

I liked everything about this Hilton except for the lack of a proper restaurant/room service.

The hotel and staff were beautiful and friendly! The balcony to our room was perfect. However, for the money we spent on this room and DID NOT get a complimentary breakfast! My bathtub did not hold water, nor did my Jacuzzi tub work! The location was great but for my engagement, I expected more for my money. I'm not sure I will be staying here again. Hope this survey enlightens and motivates whomever reads it!

Great price for a decent hotel room on Manhattan. It is within walking distance from metro station and has bus stop right outside the hotel.

it was a wonderful location. It was very close to Times Sq. and United Nations. There was no restaurant at the hotel but lots close by. The room was very spacious and really clean. Loved the bathroom. The staff was very accomendating and helpful. There was always someone there to help you catch a cab.

great location for the governor ball music festival.

I've seen my share of Hilton and Marriott hotels and this one provides a good value for your money. Located a quick walk from Grand Central, the Hilton Manhattan East is very centrally located and easily accessible. There are numerous restaurants and bars nearby, however you are a little off the path enough to be outside of the hustle and bustle of mid-town. The price was reasonable, and although the hotel is "historical" (read - a little on the older end), you have a decent sized and comfortable room. The staff was fantastic from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. They held our bags after check-out so that we could enjoy the city, hailed cabs for us, and were very friendly. Overall, a good place to stay for your money.

I just love this hotel. First time for everything... the it's my man birthday and I wanted to treat him to something nice away from our home and stumble right into this great deal hotel ...staff was very kind and pleasant... the only con I had was my room wasn't ready by check-in it was ready an hour later but it was ok because they were so nice and sincere that they gave us a late check out. My room was the one king balcony room it was very spacious bed was ridiculously comfortable big screen tv mirrors and windows every and my balcony view was wonderful.....my partner just loved everythingg... location was awesome 4 blocks down from Grand Central 42nd st. LOVE ITTT!!!!

Convenient, clean, and comfortable.I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is travelling to NYC.

The hotel was clean and the front desk staff were amazing !! The concierge person was friendly and very helpful!! The location was great and I would diffenitly go back there again!

Hotel is great. The breakfast was hosted in the basement due to renovation, but was a great place to stay. Save $20 and an hour by staying on the East side when flying into .

Close to Grand Central Station. A few minute ride on subway to Times Square. Room was reasonable for New York and very quiet, comfortable and clean. Was not happy with the breakfast buffet at a price of 50+ for two. Average selection for a buffet. Not worth it unless you are a large eater and don't mind cold eggs. Learned our lesson and ate elsewhere the rest of the trip. Other than that, was great and would go back.
