Great location near Midtown. Close to local grocery store, local taverns and shopping. Only a few blocks away from the Empire State building.

Overall the experience was very pleasant. Internet worked great, breakfast was good. Staff was very nice. Hotel was very clean and laid out well. I came for vacation so had no timetables or agenda. So any suggestions I have would just add to a nice experience. 1. The elevator took forever to come. I ended up walking up the stairs because each time I was convinced it was never coming. 2. The room at about midnight each night got very cold. I don't know if they turned down the heat but it was very cold and the covers were not adequate to deal with the cold. 3. The last day I was there there was no cold water. The only notification was a posted Xerox note on the elevator and one in the hall. There was no apology or anything and so I went without a shower because I couldn't brave the cold to endure an icy one.

The staff is attentive and its in a good location. The 1 bedroom is small, but if you are not staying for ankong period of time and want something nice and affordable this is the place.

My stay was very pleasant in what seemed to me an old style hotel in miniature. A small front desk was opposite a small lobby, furnished in old world European style. I went up a small elevator to a narrow corridor and down to a tiny room that, nonetheless, had everything I needed, set out in clean, efficient style. The next morning I found that the continental breakfast was, in fact, quite a full one in a small space and closely overseen by a friendly chef. All in all, I would recommend the Clarion to whoever prizes service over size.

Had to change rooms 3 times but staff was very accomodating and friendly, first room smelled like smoke, second room had too much traffic noise. Enjoyed their breakfast with waffles and other items free of charge...also had a free cookies/snack and coffee in the evening. Also kept my nutella in the pantry for my morning meals.

the room is too little to live in. the breakafast is too simple .

The location of the hotel is perfect, it is in the heart of Manhattan. The staff is very helpful. The rooms could be a bit larger, otherwise the hotel is very comfortable.

Great location , were small room but worth the price

Although this was the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in (my single double bed room was basically a closet), I am very glad I was able to stay here at the price I did. Yes the room was small but it's NYC, you are supposed to be away from the room all day to sight see and what not. The hotel is situated about a block from the nearest subway station which can connect you to about every popular NYC attraction you can think of. Hotel room was clean, water pressure in the shower was excellent, staff was nice. Anytime I make a trip back to NYC I will look into staying at The Clarion Hotel first.

Perfect location in midtown with easy access to the subway. Valet car service was awesome! Great stay!

The hotel room is too small. I felt I am sleeping inside a small box. Wouldn't recommend for long term stay

The room was clean, staff nice and location amazing! The free breakfast was tasty and a pleasant surprise. Would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay. Hotel staff was great. Free breakfast was a bonus but pretty busy. Great service. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. The bar next door had some great wing and beer specials during happy hour. Also if you were looking for a simple dinner, the Bread and Butter shop has a lot of food choices. Excellent salads ...lots of choices of hot meals and they are open 24 -7.

very small, clean, sheets smelled of bleach which i was thankful for; ok if you can get past the peeling wallpaper; sink loose off the wall; tiny bathroom; very narrow hallways; only saving grace was that the twin bed was very comfortable.

Did not enjoy the hotel. Decor old, rooms very small and in need of refurbishment and my floor smell of stale cigarette smoke even though the hotel had a no smoking policy

The room are really small, the people on the desk were trying to sell me some bus tickets that were a bad deal, I got a better deal by asking out

I assume this is a converted flophouse. Narrow halls. Stairs to main floor were steep and still under construction. Door of room was loose. Keys didn't work at first. Tiny room. Tinier bath. No chair in room. TV channel changer was worn and didn't work half the time. Small number of channels. Lighting was poor in room. Too-soft single twin bed that wasn't even close to flat, so the sleeping was uncomfortable. Needed to close door to bath to be able to get around sink and into shower. No closet. The only good thing I can say is that the shower was decent -- good flow, good hot water that came fast. But I would never go back to this hotel. There are much better values in NYC.

Location is great. Staff was ok. Everything was clean. The room was extremely small, which you would expect in New York. The view was terrible...facing a brick wall, and it can get noisy when people walk out on the hall way. Breakfast is not too bad. Overall an decent, fairly ok experience for the price.

Great location, clean and the staff was very friendly.

This hotel is just fine -- clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast selection. As described the rooms are very small. This is not the place to stay if you need to do any work, Even checking email on a computer requires that you hold the computer on your lap on the bed. But it is a good bed for a reasonable NY price.
