We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Stayed as a couple, just before Christmas for a week. Excellent location, very clean, bigger than usual NYC size rooms, and lovely staff. I accidently left behind something and the staff found it a few days after I left and went to a huge amount of effort to post it to me at no charge. They went above and beyond what you would expect. Our 4th time to NYC but I would stay at this hotel again without a doubt.
This hotel was just ok nothing really outstanding. I did love how clean it was and the clean comfortable bed but that was it. Unfortunately the hotel room is super tiny not meant for more than a person or two, the walls are super thin, making it almost impossible to sleep, the rooms are so close to each other every time someone opened their door or knocked, I would wake up thinking it was my door. The staff was another sore point, from the moment you walk in there they are so unwelcoming like they don’t want you to be there and you are an annoyance. The manager (Greg) seemed to be an exception to this.
We stayed here for one week as a couple. Small, clean room. Quick cleaning service daily. Friendly reception and helpful. Most of our days was spent out anyway. Clean, comfortable, warm showers and daily toiletries provided. Excellent location for access to subway and shops including Bloomingdales, banana republic etc. Good that it is far away enough from Times Square madness. Good value, would come back again .
Stayed at the Carvi for 4 night beginning of December. Rooms are clean and well furnished. As with all New York hotels they are compact but are a great base for exploring. Reception very helpful. Location is around 15 minutes from Central Park and 25 minute from Times Square would definitely stay here again on a return trip to New York.
Stayed here a few weeks ago for 5 days. Pulictures online make the hotel look alot bigger than it really is. It is a extremely small hotel, if you blonk you will miss it. Rooms are clean, average size. Its in a decent location in the middle of two diffeent subways. Also a starbucks is on the corner! Big plus! Initially upon check in staff was not really pleasont but after a few days they became more pleasant and really helped with directions, maps, subway info, etc. The neighborhood was extremely quiet. Only negative is that on this side of town alot of places close early so makes late night dinners hard.
The hotel is excellently located being close to Lexington Avenue on 55th Street. It is within easy walking distance of Central Park, Rockefeller Centre and Central Station. The nearby subway station is easily accessible from JFK and offers good links to Downtown Manhattan. The room was kept clean and tidy and had coffee making facility and TV, needed to get own tea bags. General facilities limited to Front Desk and small Roof Terrace, no bar.
Most of New York's landmarks such as Time Square, Broadway, Central Park, Fifth Ave are within 10-15 minutes walking distance. There are at least two subway stations within 5 min walking distance. If you are a film buff, locations for Breakfast at Tiffany's are all within walking distance. Serendipity cafe as well. The rooms are neat and clean. Staff is very helpful to your needs. No free breakfast, but there is Dunkin Donuts nearby and a pizza place. Also there are those food stalls at street corners.
I booked the Carvi Hotel 2 days prior to my departure - My cousin & I snagged a deal on booking.com, worked out to be <$600 for 4 nights. We arrived at LGA and ubered to the hotel located at 55th and Lexington. It took about 255 mins ad through uber it was about $20-30. Upon arrival, Staff was friendly and we were given our room keys - room 204 (interior, no windows) The room smelled SUPER CLEAN! It is very cozy and that bed... that bed!!!! I LOVED IT! It was so comfy and the room itself was perfect for our stay. IT was kinda tough to get up in the mornings as there is no daylight coming into the room - we suggest setting alarms. The hotel is right across a few nice restaurants and on Lexington and 55th there is a starbucks. Also on Lexington and 55th is a healthy food store that also makes cooked food/ breakfast and lunch options too. There is a liqour store beside the healthy food store and the Carvi hotel provided us with ice and a wine opener. There is shopping close by going either up or down Lexington. The subways are situated close by aswell! We had a great time at the Carvi hotel and would be back! it was my first time staying in the city and from now on, the Carvi Hotel will definitely be an option if I score the same deal. Thanks!
An excellent small hotel with clean and well appointed rooms. No restaurant or food service but there are restaurants all around. The only negative is the typical NY city noise outside the building at all hours. So much more reasonable than the majority of the NY hotels.
This hotel is convieniently located, clean and comfortable. Rooms are small but efficiently designed. Our queen bed was fine even for my finicky back, and the clean bathroom had plenty of towels and toiletries. The management is very responsive, helping with luggage storage for example, and sending up an extra box of tissues within minutes of our request. In spite of its location in a busy part of the city, we were never disturbed by noise. Our only beef was the exceedingly slow wifi.
