Carvi Hotel New York3.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is excellently located being close to Lexington Avenue on 55th Street. It is within easy walking distance of Central Park, Rockefeller Centre and Central Station. The nearby subway station is easily accessible from JFK and offers good links to Downtown Manhattan. The room was kept clean and tidy and had coffee making facility and TV, needed to get own tea bags. General facilities limited to Front Desk and small Roof Terrace, no bar.
Most of New York's landmarks such as Time Square, Broadway, Central Park, Fifth Ave are within 10-15 minutes walking distance. There are at least two subway stations within 5 min walking distance. If you are a film buff, locations for Breakfast at Tiffany's are all within walking distance. Serendipity cafe as well. The rooms are neat and clean. Staff is very helpful to your needs. No free breakfast, but there is Dunkin Donuts nearby and a pizza place. Also there are those food stalls at street corners.
I booked the Carvi Hotel 2 days prior to my departure - My cousin & I snagged a deal on booking.com, worked out to be <$600 for 4 nights. We arrived at LGA and ubered to the hotel located at 55th and Lexington. It took about 255 mins ad through uber it was about $20-30. Upon arrival, Staff was friendly and we were given our room keys - room 204 (interior, no windows) The room smelled SUPER CLEAN! It is very cozy and that bed... that bed!!!! I LOVED IT! It was so comfy and the room itself was perfect for our stay. IT was kinda tough to get up in the mornings as there is no daylight coming into the room - we suggest setting alarms. The hotel is right across a few nice restaurants and on Lexington and 55th there is a starbucks. Also on Lexington and 55th is a healthy food store that also makes cooked food/ breakfast and lunch options too. There is a liqour store beside the healthy food store and the Carvi hotel provided us with ice and a wine opener. There is shopping close by going either up or down Lexington. The subways are situated close by aswell! We had a great time at the Carvi hotel and would be back! it was my first time staying in the city and from now on, the Carvi Hotel will definitely be an option if I score the same deal. Thanks!
An excellent small hotel with clean and well appointed rooms. No restaurant or food service but there are restaurants all around. The only negative is the typical NY city noise outside the building at all hours. So much more reasonable than the majority of the NY hotels.
This hotel is convieniently located, clean and comfortable. Rooms are small but efficiently designed. Our queen bed was fine even for my finicky back, and the clean bathroom had plenty of towels and toiletries. The management is very responsive, helping with luggage storage for example, and sending up an extra box of tissues within minutes of our request. In spite of its location in a busy part of the city, we were never disturbed by noise. Our only beef was the exceedingly slow wifi.
Stayed for 2 nights, mid week as we were attending a conference at the Javits centre., We had a king room with no window and this was perfect for us. No window was not a deal as we were out most of the time. The staff were great, helpful and very friendly. We were able to leave our luggage as we arrived too early (11am) to check-in. A great location as its easy to get to the metro, or walk to the tourist spots. Many good places to eat- we went to Ipanema restaurant as recommended by the hotel- best meal we've had out in a long long time. Will definitely be back.
I stayed here on business and found it adequate. I particularly liked the in room coffee maker and 2 decent sized windows. Bed is a bit hard and the room is typically small for NYC . A bit on the expensive side.
Stayed for 3 nights, mid week, just my son and myself. Booked room with no window as it was best value and only room with twin beds. Room was small but had all we needed. Having no windows was no big issue as we were out most of the time. The staff were the difference as they were so friendly and helpful to all the guests, it really made the difference. They provided travel information, managed left luggage and made suggestions for eating out. You could miss this hotel as it is tucked away but, would recommend it to anyone who need a base to tour NYC. Will come back.
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful; check in was a breeze. Room was very small, but clean, with all the necessary amenities. Bed was comfortable, and room was quiet. There were no windows in the room where I stayed. Subway is close by; not far from Time Square, Mediterranean Restaurant right next door.Considering the location, this hotel is a very good value.
Stayed for 2 nights( 18-20 July 2017) . Receptionist by the name of Lucy was so friendly when she checked us in. Hotel was very comfortable and neat .Not far from 5 avenue and Time square . Would definitely stay there again .
