You can see the Statue of Liberty from the hotel! Train station in from of it, great food and a grocery store next to it.. Stayed for the NYC marathon, and it is a great location, the race comes down just in front of the hotel. You have to visit the Cemetery (Green Wood), will remind you of cemeteries in Europe, they are turning it into a park/garden! We just wanted to kill some time in the morning and we were surprised on how beautiful it is; national historic landmark.

I had a late check in on Saturday and the staff was terrific. The room was kind of small but adequate and very clean. The next morning the staff was helpful with finding a pub to watch football also. The Blackhorse Pub.

We come to NY once a year and we always stay at this hotel. Very friendly and clean.

We've stayed here several times, mainly because the location is convenient for our daughter's home. This is not luxury, but it's clean and comfortable. Rooms are very small , but perfectly fine for a place to lay your head. The breakfast area has been moved and improved since our last visit.

Staff was awesome free breakfast steps to r train weekly metro pass for 32 bucks your key to city outstanding value

My wife and I enjoyed our 5-day stay at the hotel. Our room with king size bed was quiet, very clean, and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was basic and good ... seating was difficult to find on 2 mornings, so we took our breakfast back to the room and ate there ... no big problem. Location was in a safe, quiet area of Brooklyn, and a "R line" subway station is less than 1 block away. (For those of you who like to stay out to the wee hours, just be aware that the R train stops service to the station near the hotel at midnight.) Friendly staff. Overall, had a great stay, and will come back to hotel the next time we visit NYC.

This hotel is in a very unattractive, seedy area of 4th Avenue, but there is a subway stop a block away. The hallways were dreary, carpet was old, rooms were dark, nowhere to sit in the room. The bathroom was nice and everything was clean enough. Breakfast was packed tight and some people had to stand to eat. We actually checked out a day early because we were so uncomfortable there. Normally, I fall right in line with others' reviews of hotels, but not this one. We will NOT return.

Easy to get to parking additional fee not covered but is on property. Breakfast not all that but other options close by.

Everything was good saved me money on breakfast save hot breakfast every morning nice and neat I like it over all

My husband and I stayed at this hotel in July for our wedding anniversary. The location is great and we also got a skyline view of Manhattan from our room. The subway stop to Manhattan is across the street but if you are also up for walking, you can walk the 5 or so miles to the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan. That is what we did on one of our days, we walked all the way to the bridge, explored lower Manhattan, and then walked back at the end of the day. It was exhausting but while in NYC expect to walk a lot anyway. Overall this hotel was a great value and we also were able to park our car for roughly $22.50 a night. No issues whatsoever with the room or staff.

Hotel room met my expectations as well as the service.

Took son to college but spent 3 days in New York City with family to enjoy the many tourist spots. Location of hotel is great, breakfast was wonderful and ample parking spots. Staff were always helpful.

The staff was friendly and attentive. The rooms were small (typical for a NYC hotel) and street noise was an issue at night.

FROM THE MINUTE WE CHECKED IN THE SERVICE WAS GREAT, THE ROOM WAS CLEAN, THE BEDS COMFY, AND THE BRKFST WAS A NICE BONUS. A VER GOODEXPERIENCE.

You get a lot more for $100/night in Brooklyn than you can in Manhattan. Well, actually the most you can get for $100/night in Manhattan is a hostel, not a hotel. This was not only a solid three-star hotel, but it has a five-star location, since it's only 20 steps from the R-train which takes you to Manhattan.

Was very clean and convenient really close to the R train.

I found what I expected based on the reviews of others that had previously stayed at the hotel. The staff was indeed very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, in good shape and small but big enough. The subway access was only steps away from the front door. We found out the hard way that the R train does not run to and from Manhattan at this time because it was flooded during hurricane Sandy. There is nothing in Manhattan to let you know that this is the case. You can take the N train from Manhattan to the Barclay's Center stop and then get the R train to the hotel so it is only a minor inconvenience and should not keep anyone from staying at this good hotel.

During check- in my wife and I was told we would have to pay 20 dollars a day for parking privileges which should be a courtesy to ensure the safety of the guests. The room was very small and became uncomfortable to move about. A queen- size bed crammed into a 10x8 room with no refrigerator or microwave. Our luggage had to stay in the trunk of our car for the entire stay due to the lack of space. My wife and I was extremely disappointed turning a special 2 night stay into a exhausted 1 night stay...

The room was clean.Convenient location with subway access right out front. Staff was polite and friendly.

This is hotel is right on the subway, 25th Ave. Park Slope area. The staff was very warm and helpful, not just to us but other families I saw checking in early. The rooms were clean and well maintained. It was a relatively quite hotel. The breakfast area is quite small, but they seem to keep it well stocked and try very hard to help folks coming in to eat. Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, waffle iron, pastries, bread cereal yogurt make up the basic menu. I thought it was a good place to stay, and a good value.. We will go back on our next visit.
