Didn't know what to expect driving up to the property. It's an old mansion built in 1840 in the Garden District. The property is gated and access is restricted. Once you enter, you feel as if you're walking back in time. The house has many of the original features... the plank floors, chimneys, trim, etc. But, it has been updated with modern conveniences, like bathrooms in each room, secure doors and entryways, etc. This place has TONS of character, so much more enjoyable to me than a sterile looking hotel room. Beds were very comfortable, and each room has a TV. One note, the pool is European Attitude, so clothing was optional. I found that most people who used it were in the hot tub. But, it is well shielded and if that is not your comfort zone, just don't go out on the back porch. But, you'll be missing a beautiful area with tons of tall bamboo trees, and the every present Rio (green Macaw) who's domain is the back fence. Best part? To me, it was the friendly people who run it and meeting the other travelers! Sitting around the breakfast table was very enjoyable. Frank and Jesse gave great suggestions on where to go, and where to eat in the neighborhood. Property is about 4 or so blocks from the World War II museum, a must-visit attraction. They keep expanding it, so it seems new every time you go. The Whiskey bar across the street is a nice place to hang out and enjoy a small bite. They boast over 300 kinds of Whiskey and Whisky... Lots of local restaurants within a few blocks walking distance. The Bon Ton was a great option for Breakfast or Lunch. We'll be back! Thanks everyone at the Green House. My birthday get-together was marvelous! All-in-all, very nice stay. Will definitely be back.

If you want a laid back and friendly place stay at the Green House Inn. Frank is a helpful and upbeat innkeeper/host. Makes our stay every year easy as we are working at a convention all day. Then we get back and soak in the hot tub and unwind often enjoying the company of other guests. Look forward to staying there again this year for our annual trip to New Orleans.

We have come here several times and it is always magical. Jesse and Frank take such good care of you and the location is perfect in the Lower Garden District. The 1840's Inn is lovely and the pool to die for. We love the freedom of the European Style pool and have met some wonderful people from across the globe. Some we have seen multiple times when we have been back. We love this place and you will too.

Recently spent 3 days and 2 nights at the Green House Inn. Best stay ever at a B&B Frank was extremely welcoming upon our arrival. He took the time to provide an overview of the area and provide many good recommendations for restaurants. This is a very relaxing Inn. It was very quiet, our room, Bird of Paradise was very comfortable. The pool area certainly sets the tone for total relaxation. Yes the pool area is clothing optional. Optional being the keyy word here. We met and visited with two other couples while we enjoyed the pool. We walked to the WWII museum and then on down to the French Quarter. After dark we Ubered back for about $10. The area around the Inn is rebounding and we never felt concerned about safety. We look forward to our next visit

We stayed in Bird of Paradise this time. Loved that room! We spent a lot of time in the pool. Tropical and relaxing. Jesse and Frank were excellent hosts once again. We met Christine and Charles this time too. Everyone is super friendly, and they have tons of great suggestions for restaurants. We can't wait to go back next year!

Keep in mind while reading this, we stayed here as tropical storm Barry was moving out and yet there was no sign of a problem past- this shows how well managed the place is. The Green House Inn experience (our first time at a BnB) was even better than we expected. There are so many features at this place that set it apart from any other place, but the biggest thing is HOSPITALITY. As soon as we arrived in the private parking lot we were greeted by Frank, the nicest person we have ever met. After helping us carry our luggage he began introducing us to the Inn. Jesse then entered with a very sweet dog and was also very nice. These guys are the Innkeepers. They are very professional but also very personable. Frank was so attentive and helpful. They make you feel that you are their special guests and I believe it is genuine. They love what they do and it shows. We booked the Royal Poinciana room, it is the largest space (except the apartment) it is a suite so the entrance from the stairway opens first into a living room type space that is well staged. Then you walk into the bedroom. The entire space is well lit with lots of sexy mirrors and a good view of the pool, and you can see the parking lot from a window in the bathroom. The shower had two heads and a skylight. The Inn is very historical with all REAL hardwood floors and this is seen throughout. The place has many antique pieces and is so classy. THE POOL! Yes this is the center piece of the place. So romantic, the layout and landscaping is a demonstration of professional design, with sexy and secluded being the intended theme. There was spa music playing softly, the pool was clean and the hot tub was perfect. We spent much of our 3 night stay here, maybe not enough. You don't want to leave the pool. The Inn's dining room/kitchenette/bathroom our immediately accessible to the pool area. It is very tranquil and tropical. The clothing optional aspect was the highlight of our stay. Though we chose to be nude the whole time there were folks that wore suits and some that enjoyed being nude like us, it's optional and you won't be judged either way. Everyone we met that was also staying was super friendly. There are many places in just minutes walking distance to eat, drink, or get a massage. The French Quarter is less than 10 minutes drive which we frequented many times with uber drives that are always a minute away. We cannot wait to make this a regular thing. If you are a couple looking to be romantic or just someone looking to relax, this is the place to be.

Stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast for one week in June 2019. We were greeted by the awesome and very welcoming, Frank and Jesse, and let’s NOT forget the resident dog, Kipling. He’s a beautiful Golden Retriever that was sure to greet everyone every day. I missed my furry babies at home so this was a pleasant surprise. I already felt at home. We were able to book the large apartment room that is very secluded but you still feel very included. The room has everything you could possibly need... SUPER comfortable bed (fell asleep as soon as I hit the pillow), a small patio where you can just Be, large double-headed shower, a laundry room, a spacious living room and kitchen. Next up, the pool. You will NEVER want to leave the pool area. Tranquil is the only word that I believe covers the entire aura. The towering, tropical plants, the saltwater pool that is clothing optional, and the resident Macaw, Rio. Rio kept us company every day. You feel like you’re on a private island in this pool. The other guests were also amazing. Everyone was so chill. A lot different than where I am from. It’s almost like as soon as you step into New Orleans, you know to just Be and chill. I never felt rushed but I accomplished MANY things. At this bed and breakfast, you have a breakfast waiting for you every morning or you can swing by the cute coffee shop next door or the dozens of other small shops all along Magazine. We met another resident dog, Audrey, and she just wants all of your love! The area (and city) is very dog friendly and that made my entire stay. I refuse to stay anywhere else when visiting Nola. Please consider staying here even if you don’t believe it is for you... IT IS! ❤️

Absolutely beautiful, welcoming, peaceful place. The pool is heaven, the bed is comfy and the hosts are kind. Within walking distance to some great restaurants and easy to hop on the trolly. We booked another place for our second half of a week long stay in NOLA ( just to get a feel for staying in a different part of the city) and regretted leaving Green House Inn instantly. The valve blew on my motorcycle tire the morning we were leaving, and they graciously allowed me to keep my bike there until we could get it fixed.

I am a long-time repeat guest at the GHI. Last week we stayed in the apartment for the first time and really loved it! The apartment is located immediately next to the entrance to the GHI; therefore, you have easy access to the charm and amenities of the GHI - amazing pool/hot tub, tropical outdoor sitting area, breakfast- to name a few. Plus, apartment has its own charms. You enter through an adorable gate into a covered private patio. In the living room/ kitchen area - tall ceilings and skylights lend a bright airy feel. Nice sitting area - comfy couch and antiques. The kitchen is well appointed with granite countertops and bar stools and separate room holding a washer and dryer. The bedrooms has a beautiful four poster bed and a glass door leading to a private fenced deck area. We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck reading, relaxing, and looking at the stars. The bathroom has a nice large walk-in shower - and even a towel warmer! Other pluses, on-site gated parking, a numerous dining and drinking options in walking distance, and a central location from which to strike out and experience New Orleans. Highly recommend!!!!

I was super nervous coming to NOLA solo but I’m so glad that I chose the right place to stay. Frank was so amazing, helpful, and friendly. He really helped me feel at home and recommended places that I should visit. The other guests were so lovely and kind to me as well. The Green House Inn is in such a lovely location. It’s near the trolley, which is great for getting around. It is also near restaurants and fast food places. After spending the day in the French Quarter or after attending a music festival I loved coming back to the Green House Inn and enjoying the peace and quiet. I will definitely return after such an amazing stay.
