A very pleasant atmosphere with its eclectic vibe. Enjoyed the talented street artists and scenery.

It's perfectly located between the Garden District and the French Quarter on the trolley line which is a great feature of transportation. The hotel staff is warm, inviting and friendly. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. We got very lucky choosing this hotel. We will most definitely stay here again And Mr. Ed's seafood next door is awesome!!!!

Free breakfast, nice pool/hot-tub, newer renovated rooms.

This hotel was in a nice, quiet, vintage location. It was very clean and the courtyard was gorgeous. The hotel staff was friendly but not very knowledgeable about some things. The breakfast did not include tea, which is a must for those who prefer that instead of coffee. The beds were comfortable and the room layout was nice. The vent fan in the bathroom was too noisy and the rain shower head didn't work very well. The rooms had recently upgraded heating/cooling thermostats but ours did not work properly. It threw out very cold air every other time that it cycled on. Not good when the temps outside were cold at night. I called the desk and they sent a new maintenance employee up to check it out but he was unable to fix it. Needless to say, I came home with a very hoarse throat. However, to the hotel's credit, the desk clerk did waive our valet fees because of the inconvenience, but only because I asked for some kind of credit refund. Overall it was a nice place though.

My room was beautiful. The staff was very courteous and professional. This hotel was worth the money.

It was a convenient, but lack in quality for the price. L

Girls weekend. We had a great time. Staff was helpful and friendly. We would stay here again. Very clean and excellent location.

Josh the person that checked us in was great, friendly and helpful the other front desk staff were not as helpful and friendly. The first room was not big enough and run down we requested a different room and josh got us into a better room. We did not get cleaning service every day but the day we did we did not get kleenx or wash cloths. We could not find the remote but they brought us one. The air conditioner stopped but we were able to reset and get it working again.

It's hard to imagine the amount of wear and tear NOLA hotels experience. That said, our room appeared to have been refurbished fairly recently. The daily cleaning was more than adequate, however deeper cleaning was lacking i.e. dirty handprints on the painted woodwork and heavy dust buildup in corners and crevices. Maintenance was also needed, such as fixing broken towel bars and loose toilet seats. This stuff was totally within the realm of acceptability the only real cleanliness issue which was hard to bear was the smell of the room….think college football locker room. No amount of airing out seemed to help. Pretty much everything else about the room was good…firm but comfy beds, quiet a/c system and plenty of room. If you are planning on driving around the area or using the streetcar or taxis, the location is fine. But if you want to walk into the quarter a lot, it's a little far and sketchy. One more really nice plus… a great gym is affiliated with the hotel and we actually used it!!! YAY

Great location of this property. The streetcar stops in front of it every 20 minutes or less. Nice to get to ride it everyday to get around. Good central location. You can walk to Cemetery #1 , and look at all the great houses in the process. Minutes by streetcar to Canal.

Overall stay was good. Staff was friendly, helpful. Our room was not cleaned or visited by the staff on one day so we had to request fresh towels and request that it get a cleaning visit by room service.

Good, safe location. A little overpriced but a nice, clean property.

The hotel was in a great location only a 10 minute trolly ride to the French Quarters. The trolly stop was right across the street from hotel. The staff was excellent and very accommodating. The room was great and everything worked. The only complaint I have is the maintenance of the pool was not good at all, you can see foot prints in the slim at the bottom of the pool therefore I did not get in which I would of loved too and that is one of the reasons I picked this hotel was because it had a pool. The hotel over all is well kept and still has that old world charm. I will definitely stay at this location again.

Overall, we enjoyed this quaint hotel. The Good: It was really cute - courtyards with tables and umbrellas, benches, fountains and murals. Convenient, gated parking that locked at night (although costing $17) was provided for our vehicle while we took the nearby public transportation to the French Quarter and other attractions. However, we had to take the bus because the trolley wasn't running in the Garden District while we were there. The room was large, the A/C worked great, and breakfast was pretty good (eggs, waffles, fruit, juices, pastries & coffee). The Not-so-Good: Very little water came out of the shower head. You had to strategically position your head to rinse your hair or face. The safe in the room had been closed before we got there, making it unusable for our valuables while we were gone from the hotel. The door to the room did not seal underneath - we could see daylight under the entire width of the door. This would have been a good way for the staff to put our receipt in our room, but they chose to roll it up and stick it in the door handle outside our room instead. Luckily, my husband found it laying on the ground outside our room and just happened to pick it up to see what it was. That seems like an unnecessary potential risk of personal information. However, we would stay here again and recommend it for convenience and comfort.

We've stayed here several times. We like the unique layout of this facility that is not apparent from the street. Relatively quiet and laid back while in the middle of the busy city. Close to the French Quarter which you can easily get to on the historic street car line. I would like to see the quality of the continental breakfast to step up a notch. Not crazy about a separate charge for parking. Why not figure it into the price of the room? We'll definitely be back here again.

This hotel was a good value and right on the street car route. Giving you easy access to a variety of activities and restaurants.

Great location, great price! Beautiful hotel! The grounds were really pretty. The staff was friendly and very helpful. We were able to walk from the hotel everywhere we wanted to go. Parking was across the street from the hotel. Breakfast was okay. We did not eat anything else at the hotel, food was rather pricey. Streetcar runs right in front of the hotel for those who have a difficult time walking.

This is our go-to hotel in New Orleans. The staff is always phenomenally friendly, the breakfast is good, the location can't be beat - right on the street car line and literally walking distance (though a long walk) to the quarter.

My wife and I decided to drive down to New Orleans three days before the long MLK Day holiday weekend. Needless to stay, many of the hotels were already booked and prices were going up. We wanted to stay somewhere that was somewhat affordable, but still had some new orleans charm. Maison St. Charles was the perfect choice. The hotel is made up of several 1860s buildings that were renovated in the 80s, so we definitely got the charm we asked for, although things were a bit more rickety than you might expect. The staff was helpful and our room was mostly clean - this was our biggest concern due to other reviewer's experiences. We did find some towels on the back of the bathroom door that were clearly used/dirty and the sink could have been cleaned better, but we had no major complaints. The St. Charles streetcar is directly in front of the hotel and will take you straight to canal st / the french quarter for only $1.25 or $3 for a day pass.

We like the quaint Old hotel on the trolley route in the Garden District of New Orleans. The price was high - but that was due to it being a holiday. Also, it was noisy with New Years Eve celebrating late. The night guard did ask our neighbors to get quiet at 3 am, and they did.
