La Quinta Inn & Suites New Haven

2.5 out of 5.0

reasonable price right outside New Haven, rooms are fairly quiet and relatively comfortable for the price - which is cheap compared to many others in New Haven, free parking and relatively clean. Only thing I don't get is why the hallways so dirty and seemingly unclean compared to within the room, seems like no one cares about the floor cleanliness like a dorm room. Otherwise breakfast reasonably okay offering.

I have stayed here a few times because they take dogs. My stays have always been decent. My only complaint is no microwave or refrigerators in the rooms.

Dog in the room next door kept barking. Rooms need to be updated but were clean.

The facility needs some modern upgrades. The room appeared to be clean, but very worn.

Parking limited, new carpet needed, general refresh needed

The very low ceilings in the halls gave it a closed-in and dingy feel. In the room, carpets seemed damp. I didn't feel comfortable going barefoot. The beds had clean sheets so that was fine but overall was not a good experience. The only good part was a very friendly and courteous staff.

We could not wait to check out the next morning. We all agreed that we would have felt cleaner and more refreshed if we had been camping outdoors instead of in a musty, dingy, old room.

Good experience as I used this hotel with my wife and my son. My only criticism is that there was not supply of shampoo or soap for the three of us.

Nice and comfortable hotel with a friendly staff. Good location, close to downtown New Haven.

Everyone was so nice and friendly.I would stay there again!!

the hotel is not really clean, breakfast is very simple ,room heaters noisy, long waited for hot water

location was great. we were close to everything we planned on going to.

Nasty things growing in tub, even after using my own Lysol. While I reserved and PAID for a suite, ended up in a dirty room.

Booked a suite, so was expecting a bedroom plus separate sitting area, but their idea of a suite is just a big bedroom with a couch. So when you use the couch pullout (twin), it takes up the rest of the space in the "bedroom". Beds weren't that comfy; some of us experienced bug bites in the morning. Dated room. The hotel does have free breakfast (not a big selection, though) and free parking, and I think they also have a shuttle, but not sure where it goes to since we didn't need. Not far drive to downtown/Yale. Right in front of harbor so we had a view of the water.

The hotel was dated, shabby. I had to change rooms as the bed sheets were not clean, I did not have a fridge or a microwave and the ceilings were stained.

A good low cost option for visits to New Haven and Yale University.

adequate for the cost nice bar/restaurant on site greek olive

Had an okay experience. Shuttle service could be slow at times. Staff was usually friendly but one girl acted annoyed every time I stopped by. Room was clean but bathroom was definitely old and needed touch ups.

not bad, but you can find up level hotel for same amount. it was really bad smell of cigarettes

Room was dirty .. Dirty towels on floor when we arrived . Room not cleaned at all in 2 night stay . I had to take clean towels from gym to have enough . Staff was nice but not responsive . ( was told there was only 1 staff on duty so they could not leave desk) Security was called for activity on the hallway . Definitely overpriced compared to other hotels . L
