worst experience in years, rooms were horrible smelling, then got worse as more smokers checked in repulsive!!!!!
Terrible experience. Staff was rude and not courteous. Rooms smelled and sheets had urine and blood on them! heat didnt work and it was a blizzard out. water in shower was cold and bathroom was disgusting. very poor experience would not recommend!
The only negative is the location. It was a little hard to find it. It is like ten miles from 81 and I got stuck in traffic trying to head back to the interstate that morning. I loved the family that were the staff there. The room was nice. The continental breakfast was good. You can't beat the price!
The breakfast lady is horriable. Don't expect anyting.
Nice rooms, great location. Easy on and off the highway. Convenient to have a Rutter's across the street.
Room was freshly painted and clean. Breakfast was not very fresh, nor a good selection....but for the price a decent deal.
The bathroom fan was hanging down from the ceiling. It was connected to the only light in the bathroom. It was so loud that I had to shower in the dark. Also, this place has cable TV, but (probably to save money) they only have 12 TV channels.
Rooms appeared to be newly redone. Fresh paint, new beds, very clean. Staff was great.
Clean room,friendley helpful staff,quiet area!
the clothes rack fell off the wall, and found a roach in the room, other then that it was a great place, was upset that the linens were dirty so we slept on top of the blankets
Hotel was good overall, would stay there again.
THIS IS NOT NEARLY ENOUGH SPACE. I WAS A PREVIOUS BREAST CANCER PATIENT AND IF I RESERVE A NON SMOKING ROOM I MEAN JUST THAT NOT JUST REMOVING THE ASHTRAY FROM THE ROOM. I WAS GRANTED A LATE CHECK IN. I GOT AN EARLY CALL BEFORE 9AM ABOUT IF I NEEDED MORE TOWELS. I DID NOT REQUEST A WAKE UP CALL. WHEN I ARRIVED AT HOTEL THAT NIGHT, SOME TRUCKS WERE WORKING BY THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I DIDNT KNOW UNTIL I CHECKED IN THAT THERE WAS NO WATER AND THE DESK CLERK ASSURED ME THAT THE WATER WOULD BE ON BY NO LATER THAN 9:30PM. THE WATER CAME ON AT 12:30 GOING INTO THE NEXT MORNING. THE REASON I KNOW WHAT TIME IT WAS IS BECAUSE I LEFT THE FAUCET ON AND WAITED BECAUSE I HAD TRAVELED ALL DAY AND NEEDED A SHOWER. I KNOW THE CITY WAS THE ONE WORKING ON THE WATER NOT THE HOTEL, BUT I WAITED ALMOST 4 HOURS. DURING MY TRAVEL IT TOOL AN UNEXPECTED TURN AND I THE TOWN I WAS IN 2 FAMILY MEMBERS STAYED AT THE DAYS INN WITH ME THAT NIGHT. WE GOT STARES DROM THE DESK CLERK THAT MORNING DURING THE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST AND I WANTED A BANANA SO BAD. THIS WAS THE FIRST CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST I HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH OUT ANY FRUIT AT ALL. THE NUMEROUS EMPLOYEES KEPT COMING IN THE BREAKFAST ROOM WHILE MY 2 FAMILY MEMBERS AND MYSELF WAS EATING. BUT THE WERE NOT CLEANING OR BRINGING MORE FOOD. JUST STARING. GOING OUT THE DOOR THE FEMALE DESK CLERK STATED TO ME THAT THERE WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR THE MEMBERS THAT WAS WITH ME. THE TOWELS WERE DINGY IN THE ROOM AND LOOKED MORE LIKE RAGS. AND WHILE TRYING TO LOAD MY VEHICLE A MALE CLERK CALLED FROM THE FRONT DESK CALLED AND SAID WAS I LEAVING EXACTLY AT 11 AM OR 11:30 AM. AND I TOLD HIM I FELT AS THOUGH THEY WERE TRYING TO GET EXTRA MONEY FROM ME SINCE I ARRIVED. AND I STATED TO HIM THAT I WOULD BE OUT BY 11:05 AND DID NOT WANT TO BE CHARGED EXTRA FOR A LATE CHECK OUT. AS I WAS LEAVING AN ELDERLY CLEANING MAN WAS ENTERING AT THE SAME TIME WITHOUT KNOCKING AND SCARED THE DEVIL OUT OF ME. I WAS JUST AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I LIVE IN BFLO NEW YORK, MY DAUGHTER`S FATHER JUST MOVED TO STEELTON, PA. THERE WERE ABOUT 6 HOTELS BETWEEN STEELTON AND NEW CUMBERLAND I COULD OF STAYED ANYWHERE BUT I CHOOSE DAYS INN.MY DAUGHTER WILL SEE HER FATHER ONE TO TWO TIMES PER MONTH AND WE HAVE SHARED CUSTODY. AND ON THE TIMES WHEN I AM THE ONE TO DRIVE TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER I WILL NOT STAY AT THE DAYS INN. THANK YOU. I WASN`T HARRASSED BUT I DID FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE.PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH THE MANAGER AND STAFF AT DAYS INN IN NEW CUMBERLAND.
Dust was visible on furniture. Windows dirty Bug "residue" in bathroom Ice maker not working Old and tired and worn was the decor The staff seemed to want to be helpful and were courteous. Not what I expected.
After a day out with my cousin, we came to find our door had been left OPEN by the housekeeping staff. Thank GOD nothing was taken, but when I was asked to speak with the Manager, I only got the runaround. Considering how much of an issue it could have been, they truly did not treat us with any type of respect. I would not recommend to ANYONE to stay here. There are plenty of hotels nearby that are convenient to all the local areas, stay there instead.
Pros--large room for good price. Located in a very quiet area and convenient to TPK. Cons--Sheets were rumpled and not clean. I had the feeling that thet hadn't been changed from the last guests--just straightened out and hope that the next guests wouldn't notice. Alarm on the clock didn't work. Last guest had unplugged the radio because it woudn't turn off--the "off" button didn't work.
The Days INN in New Cumberland, They Have a Great Location and are very close to the highway and Good Restaurants. The Check In was painless even at a late time they were great. The bad stuff very small beds flat pillows and no fitted sheets. The worst part of all when you flushed the toilet it went to the top and you thought you needed a row boat scarry. The same goes for the bath tub it did not drain very well you were cleaner before your shower. You might want to take a bath in the Swimming pool outside it looked cleaner but don`t let the secret out.
Road into the site was difficult at best for a NON-off road car. Area was undergoing modernization as the hotel across the parking lot had all their bedding and room items outside!!!!! Messy. Resturant in hotel was not operating, though the morning coffee and rolls were fresh and ready. Room was O.K.
The Days Inn New Cumberland/Harrisburg South was a good hotel value. The room I stayed in had a very comfortable king sized and was a nice size. The room came with a microwave and microfridge which was very convenient. The bathroom was a little small but had a decent sized shower. The location was just off of I-83 near and was somewhat remote. Anything you was only a short drive away.
