La Quinta Inn San Marcos

Front desk never answered phone. Mold all over window and air conditioner. Policy was to not give room cleaning service if extended stay; ridiculous. Maids were very friendly and helpful. We did appreciate that. No gym; really? Pool was ice cold. We won't be staying here again.

This is a motel style La Quinta where the doors lead directly outside. The adjacent area looks sort of run down. There was small pieces of soap stuck to the sides of the tub along with long pieces of hair. The tub was also very heavily stained. We were given a new room that was cleaner, but the paint on the tub was peeling. Breakfast was very limited and almost everything was gone before 8. It was not a priority for the staff to replenish any breakfast item even after being told repeatedly by different guests. No one did anything for the 20 minutes I was there.

The first room assigned to us had no running water in the handicapped shower. The second room the tub/shower was horrible. It looked like it was never cleaned but it was just badly stained. We hestitated to put our feet in tub. the rest of the room was fine.

The check in clerk was a bit per-occupied with other things going on, so check in took a bit longer than expected. Other than that, it was a great stay.

very good hotel, we just use for sleep and breakfast, we ve received a good service and i recommend a lot for all those travelesr who are looking cheaper options

The hotel is undergoing extensive renovation. This is an issue during breakfast, little to no seating in breakfast area. We stayed in a double and room that was nice and new. The beds were very small in the doubles. It is convient to Texas State Campus.

The hotel had a large room but no fridge or microwave. The sheets were stained. The bathroom floor was dirty.

Basic hotel. No refrigerator. Noisy people hanging by cars outside of my door.

When I arrived there was no one at the front desk. Myself and another guest called the hotel ,we stood there and listen to the front desk phone ring and no one answered. Finally a young man appeared and checked all of us in. He had a chip on his shoulder and poor attitude. The room had a horrible musty smell. I had to purchase a can of air freshener to make my stay bearable. Several dead bugs on the carpet.

The rating is 3 star but we had a 4 star stay. Was no over the top but just convenient, clean, nice staff and just what we needed for a one nighter prior to a Texas State football game.

Overpriced for these rooms. Double bed rooms do no have refrigerators or microwaves in them, only King bed rooms - go figure. I was kicking myself in the butt for spending so much for this room. It reeked of smoke. Our first room, the AC was leaking all over the floor & was not working properly & the front desk lady quickly got us to another room which was awesome, but as stated, the rate is overpriced for these rooms. But, we had a comfy place to lay our heads.

We had a pleasant stay. I would stay there again. The staff was friendly.

asked for nonsmoking room, put in smoking, receptionist was quick to reassign room to nonsmoking that was great.

Train noises all night. No fitness facilities. Came around 5 PM and emptied our trash and gave us new towels but that was all

Although there were problems with the room the staff was very helpful to correct the problem.

This was a very nice room and the staff was great.

I turned on the cold water and there was black particles all in the water. The a/c didn't work properly. I would not recommend. Breakfast OK

I checked in with two rooms, having requested non-smoking rooms. STUNK!! They exchanged one room for a non-smoking, but wouldn't change the other and would not give me a refund because the third-party cancellation had expired. They exchanged to the non-smoking but rented it out on the last night because they had us checking out a day early. They promised a refund but so far no refund. Check for reservation guarantee if you want non-smoking. Even better, do not stay in motels without a full non-smoking policy in all the rooms.

King room was exceptionally large, but overall the hotel needs updating - especially new carpet. Shower itself was clean but shower curtain had small amount of mold. Breakfast needs tweaked as well - only hot item was waffles. Staff very helpful. Overpriced due to South by Southwest - rates appeared much lower for other weekend dates. Average rating and would recommend checking out rates at other area hotels with higher star rating (i.e., Hampton Inn).

I have always liked La Quinta Inns, and this one didn't let me down. The room was clean but in need of some minor repairs (mold on the wall in the bathroom, broken curtain, etc) but the rest of the hotel was great. The staff was really nice, the breakfast was good, the pool area was great!

I am so sorry to heat that you room was not in order during your stay. I am glad we were able to give you another room that you felt was cleaner. I am sorry that our breakfast was not up to your expectations. We have two people that are on staff working the breakfast and the front desk and they should be replenishing the items within a timely manner. I can assure you that I will meet with the staff about this issue so that it does not happen again. Thank you again for letting us know where we can improve.
