There's not a lot more I can add to the other reviews here, I can only further endorse how special the family & staff at the hotel are and how welcome and cared for they make you feel. It is a level of hospitality that other hotels can only aspire to and draws us back to Greece year after year. The hotel is apparently 12 years old but you wouldn't think so to look at it - it's so well maintained you would think it had just opened. It would be unfair to pick out anyone individually so I would just like to thank you all for looking after us for 2 weeks.
I truly deem it is our duty to express and write few words about our 9 day stay at the Lagos Mare butique hotel. I dare to state it was probably the nicest, top holiday we have ever experienced. The hotel is beautiful (luxarious and in some way still Greek) with its comfortable and stylish rooms, swimming pool, marvelous giant chess and its location (short distance from beuatiful sandy beach). The dishes in 1924 restaurant are deluxe, indeed (we were astonished by everything we have savoured). But I think that what we value the most are the unbelievably kind, great and awe inspiring people here (Asterios who picked us up, Adrianna at the reception, very kind waitress at the breakfast and of course the waitor Petros). Whole day we were looking forward for the dinner. Of course in part because of the excellent food but also and maybe mainly because of the best and greatest (- we have ever met and we will not forget) and all the time smiling waitor Petros.
Located a short walk away from the Agios Prokopios beach,Lagos Mare is a small but beautiful property. Rooms are comfortable. They have a Nespresso machine,Guy Laroche bed linen and Korres toiletries. Staff are warm and friendly and go out of the way to help you with tips on touring the island. Breakfast is part of the deal and was a good spread with enough even for vegetarians. Lunch and dinner were well made and well presented.Portions are large. Getting around is easy as the bus stop is right outside the hotel.Buses to Naxos town run frequently.
Lagos Mare is a beautiful boutique hotel about 7 minutes walk from the beach surrounded by plenty beach bars, tavernas, and coffee shops. The hotel is superb. The large clean comfortable rooms are equipped with Aircon, nespresso machine, hair dryer a fridge and Korres products. The breakfast is a Greek buffet with plenty of food to choose from. They grounds are well maintained with two pools a pool bar and a childrens play area. The staff are unbelievable. They are possibly the most helpful and accommodating staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Asteris was unbelievably helpful and went out of his way to make our stay extra special. Petro at the bar mixed the most amazing cocktails and was delightful company! The staff in the restaurant were always available to provide you with great service. All in all a great place to stay in Naxos. It's across the road from the bus stop and a ride to the town/ port is 1 .80 one way. The bus service is efficient and easy to use. Overall more than a 5 star personalized experience. Bravo
Great hotel for our honeymoon, but there were also lots of families. Wonderful customer service, nice pool and grounds for hanging in or having a drink - one night they had a luau and did a cookout. 7 min walk to the beach and the beach bars/restaurant, and a quick bus ride to town (bus stop is right outside hotel). Great breakfast! Nice, charming hotel.
We were lucky enough to stay 5 nights at Lagos Mare in Naxos. Such a feel good boutique hotel, with smiley, wonderful staff. The entire team are friendly, helpful, happy to help and provide a relaxed, clean, comfortable hotel with a family atmosphere, great pool location and great food. We experienced only breakfast so cant comment on the evening meals, but all reviews we read about the chef at 1924 restaurant were outstanding. Its a pleasure to take the short walk past the fields from the hotel to the beach in Agios Prokopios, we only have fantastic memories to bring home with us. Highly recommended!
Had a great stay at this little boutique hotel. Located only 10 min walk away from the beach and a shot bus ride into Naxos Town (buses run every 30min until 2am) Hotel is clean and well appointed. Staff are really friendly and attentive. The hotel is small and you have use of both there pool and the neighbouring apartments pool which is much larger. Only 12 loungers by the small hotel pool but if your happy to head to the beach like most people you won't really need the loungers. Rooms are very clean however basic and minimalistic which was disappointing for the price you pay. Overall a great little hotel
You feel relaxed walking in the door at Lagos Mare and stay that way the entirety of your trip. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, from the fellow at the front desk with the beard to the welcoming and efficient group at breakfast. And kudos to the concierge that drove us to the ferry and came back to find us before we boarded with a shoe that we left in the room. Rooms are nice and some have a view of the sea, with nearby homes in the foreground. It's adjacent to the hotel next door, with no fence, which could be a bit confusing. Location is great. A short walk (3-5 minutes) to Agios Prokopios and great restaurants. People have mentioned the bus to Naxos Town is right outside the hotel. It was about 20 minutes late one night but was on time every other time we took it. The hotel provided the bus tickets and a detailed map.
Wonderful hotel. We were there for 3 nights. We were in Greece 16 days and was by far the best lodging. The staff were wonderful. Will go back if the opportunity arises. Wonderful good. Only a short walk to the beach. Many places to eat along the beach. To go to Naxos Town proper, a short cab ride costs 10 Eros Well worth it or for 1.80 Eros you can catch the transit bus which stops right outside the hotel. Easy.
What can one say but superb superb superb. Right from check in, helpfulness and friendliness of staff. Beautiful large and well appointed rooms; quiet at night; two pools on site; Great food; bus to and from many beaches (Plaka) and the Port (Chora) right at the front door half hourly and only €1.80 each way; short stroll to beautiful beach (Ag. Prokopios) with an abundance of eateries overlooking the beach. Would willing return to Lagos Mare.
