Hands down worst experience! 1) elevator didn't work until I complained and it was "reset?" 2) random people hanging around outside and in the hallway/stairwell (didn't feel safe) 3) hallway smelled as bad as it looked 4) the room was absolutely filthy the floor was so dirty in the room you could hear my shoes sticking to it 5) 2" pillows 6) the bathtub was literally rusting
On Saturday July 27, 2019 I checked into this “establishment” in Murfreesboro with a friend of mine. I arrived approximately 9:45pm and proceeded to check in. The woman at the counter (a middle aged dirty blonde who’s name I didn’t catch but couldn’t pull herself away from her phone conversation long enough to introduce herself) took my ID and credit card from me that i already had out waiting for her, me being aware that’s the typical routine. Whoever she was talking to must have worked there because she inquired about the AC and the aroma of room 317 (my determined destination) and I assume was convinced was both were good and told a black gentleman (Jeremy?) to make my keys and have my sign the receipt so she could go outside and continue to gossip with her telephone mistress. As I entered the hallway to the elevator I was knocked over by the overwhelming aroma of marijuana. Trust me as a former pothead a year into my recovery I know the smell. As I made it to the room I entered a room that not only reeked of bad BO but looked as tho had literally just been thrown together. None of the lights were plugged into outlets nor was the TV. Also the coaxial cable wasn’t even attached. As i started to assemble my room i noticed the remote didn’t work. I sent my friend down to swap it out as I tried to program the TV myself. Around 11:00pm After messing with that for almost an hour with no luck ( coaxial wouldn’t even connect to TV and couldn’t get the WiFi to stay connected long enough to do much more) and sending my friend down 2 more times to get some assistance with no avail I finally informed the hotel that with all the issues, condition of not only my room but the hotel as a whole and the lack of cooperation from the staff on duty I wanted to check out and receive a refund. They informed me it wouldn’t be a problem. Just gather my things and return the keys to the window on the outside of the hotel which I did and as I handed the keys to the lady I asked what else I needed to do and she said everything was good. She would leave a note for the morning shift ( Tasha) to handle it. Got into my car and took off. The next day I called the hotel to inquire about the refund and spoke to Tasha who informed me that I had never checked out and would not get a refund. After explaining to her several times that I had indeed checked out, gave my keys to the front desk and was even told that she would be the one working the next morning shift and be dealing with the refunding of my money she insisted that I had not checked out and continued to stay in the room. After protesting this Tasha began to get an attitude and when I realized they were giving me the shaft I retreated and here I am. Trust me I nor anyone I even care an ounce about will NEVER take a step into this outhouse/crackhouse called Vista Inn so help me God!
Worst place we've ever stayed. Bathroom door wouldn't close in 115 and shower sounds like a freight train coming through. Moldy ac unit which was very loud. We can usually tolerate bare bones but this place was awful. Wish we'd read the reviews before stopping. Wouldn't ever come back.
I'll mark the positives: - Nice manager, albeit stressed from the day person, upon check in. - Nice person upon check out. That's literally it. The negatives: Terrible room smell. It literally smelled like someone was smoking in the room for a long time before I got there.. The lights hardly worked. Same with the TV. The bathroom looked run down. I would overlook the sign looking like it needed a new coat of paint, as that is minor but it signifies this place. I would have overlooked all of that however if it weren't for the fact that someone at 5:15 a.m. was hitting my window and my A/C unit. I would have massively complained but I decided to check out. I would have given it one star if not for the friendly staff. Very disappointing stay.
The room looked decent at first glance, then later after making reservation and settled in. I have found that I paid to share my room with unwanted guests “roaches” to be precise, disgusting right? so when I brought to managers attention and asked if there is any other room cleaner than mine, I was told most of the rooms are the same. They did however bring pest control service to spray this the last day of my visit. I’ve already paid for none refundable fair for the room. Other guests also were loud as well as truckers outside, better choice elsewhere is highly recommended, I would easily say never again vista inn.
I stayed in this hotel broke out with bed bugs that bit me all over I confronted the manager she did nothing about it but was very rude and did not care to handle the issue a beware of this hotel bed bugs bed bugs bed bugs bed bugs
The hotel was very clean, the staff was friendly, the beds we're comfortable, the water was hot, and the heat worked. It had a microwave, mini fridge, coffee pot, blow dryer and iron. The building was older, could have used a few updates, but overall, I was satisfied.
This place must have been nice at one time. But that must have been a long time ago. Keep looking you can do better. It showed wear, & lack of maintenance everywhere. It was a 29. room for 65. Nothing to recommend about it.
The rooms are old but clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is very frient and helpful and the continental breakfast was a nice bonus. The hotel is not far off the interstate which makes it very easy for a quick rest place when travelling.
Booked online because it looked nice in the pictures. Got there and everything was run down. As in, duct tape holding the air conditioners in kind of run down. Our room had holes in the wall, the shower didn’t work, and the sheets looked dirty. When I asked for a new room, I got told they were “all booked up.” When asked for a refund, I was told I wouldn’t get my money back for 7-21 days. The 2 women behind the counter were very rude and unprofessional. Thanks, Vista Inn for your crappy service and advertising fraud. At least update your motel to look like the pictures. And get new employees.
