The room was obviously intended for three but had one of the single beds removed, even though we still had three cups, toothbrushes etc. The bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen and the shower pressure was not great. However, hot drinks available in the lobby, a foot massager and The New York Times and the English Japan Daily were available also in the lobby. Breakfast was in a delightful small basement room and had a reasonable choice of Japanese and western. Desk staff were helpful. It would have been a real squash for three with three travelling bags, we only had our two overnight bags.

We stayed here for one night as we toured Japan. This hotel had some lovely features in the lobby. There was a bamboo noodle shoot, a children's play area and a shop. The rooms were clean and spacious and the breakfast was delicious, mainly Japanese style. The hotel staff were outstanding, so kind, professional, caring. It was my husband's birthday while we were there and they surprised him with champagne & a fruit platter in our room. There was plenty to see and do in Nara. Visiting and feeding the bowing deer is a must.

A short taxi ride from JR Nara and within walking distance of Nara Park and local restaurants. Staff were excellent when I needed help to send flowers. Breakfast offered traditional Japanese food with some Western options, which suited us fine. Slightly dated rooms but service and location made it a good choice.

A standard business hotel with a good location for Nara tourists. We had a twin room on the fourth floor. Despite construction works taking place opposite, we didn't hear a thing til we opened the window. Good, comfortable and clean beds and a good couple of night's sleeps here. Staff at the front desk didn't speak a lot of English with a couple of exceptions. The bathroom is one of this prefabricated plastic pods and very small but water pressure and shower were great. Under the beds hasn't been hoovered in some time though the room was otherwise very clean. A good, low budget option for Nara, where let's face it, you shouldn't be in the room much.

We were pleasantly surprised by the level of high quality service. The hotel is dated and need of an upgrade but don't let that put you off. They have free coffee and tea, other nick knacks and comfort is a high priority. You are waling distance to the shops and key historic sights. I could not recommend this hotel more highly for value for money, location and service

Just returned from Japan, spending two nights in Nara. This is a very nice, no frills hotel, but in a great location close to the Kintetsu rail station, close to lots of shops and restaurants as well as very close to Nara park. English speaking staff available. Very clean and quiet. I would definitely stay here again. I did not eat at the hotel; prices seemed a bit expensive and there are lots of nearby restaurants. As far as size goes, most hotels in Japan will be small, unless you want to pay top dollar. Par for the course.

We stayed here when we visited Nara two weeks ago with our daughter. The hotel is conveniently located near the Park and there are loads of great restaurants nearby. The hotel room had all the amenities we wanted and comfy bed. Our daughter is still raving how friendly the people in the reception where, especially a young lady who made our daughter feel so special! Thank you again for such a wonderful experience while we visited Nara.

I came to this hotel with a tour group. Their rooms are decent, but incredibly cramped. For single occupancy, I think it's fine. But I was traveling with my mother, so two beds in one small room was incredibly tight. Their bathroom was like an airplane bathroom with a bathtub inside. It's that confined. I'm a 5' 11" tall man weighing approximately 175lbs, and my knees were less than 6 inches away from the wall when I'd sit on the toilet. Still, can't really complain. After all, the location and their courteous staff pretty much makes up for it.

This hotel is 5 minutes away from Nara park. It serves a good variety for breakfast and has nice staff. Good comfy bed, smallish bathroom but always hot water. The only english channel TV was BBC news, but then why should you watch TV if you don't get a big jetlag and can actually sleep at night. Only complaint was that the wifi was a bit patchy at times.

Stayed at Hotel Sunroute for 1 night whilst sightseeing around Nara. Very convenient location, only about a 10 minute stroll from Nara Kintetsu Station (note that Nara JR station is further away). Located on a very quiet street and is only about 200mts/2 minute walk to one of the main entrances of Nara Park. Less than a 10 minute walk to the restaurant and shopping area of Nara. Room was quite small (which is common/expected for Japanese single rooms), but very clean, comfortable and functional. Bathroom also very tiny - but it was perfectly adequate, super clean and lovely toiletries provided (Shisheido). Both the room and bathroom (and hotel overall) looks a bit on the dated side - it seems as though the hotel hasn't had a major update/renovation in some time. However note that this was cosmetic ONLY and the room and bathroom is in a very clean and comfortable condition otherwise (has been maintained very well). Free in-room wifi was reliable and fast. Staff were super friendly and very helpful. I got a very good deal on the Japanican website - only 8300 YEN for the one night (and it was a Saturday night too). A recommended hotel if you are looking for a budget and convenient place to stay whilst in Nara.
