Have stayed at this place many times previously and it was always fine and reasonably priced as a Best Western. It was an obvious "go to" choice for us for many years. (BW has an affordable price point and always seems to deliver a little more than you would expect.) What seems to be happening here is the IHG wants to cash in on the higher end Napa prices, but they fail to deliver with miserable minimalism. The "updated" rooms are dismal, characterless and not comfortable. No sense was used in the design. No sense of hospitality here, the few limited choices at breakfast come at a premium. Every morning I watched guests complain at the front desk, about bad wifi, no tv reception. Our party had several rooms and no one was very happy here. There are many other much better choices in the area. Take your business elsewhere!
Booked as part of a 2 day tour of the Napa region from the IHG website. Generally IHG hotels are of a good standard, this one has slipped through the quality control net. It used to be a Best western and was refurbished recently and rebranded as a Hotel Indigo. The refurbishment has done nothing to improve the sound proofing in the rooms. You will hear all the noise from the corridor, and the traffic noise from outside. The railway line runs right along side the hotel which is not mentioned anywhere. The door into the room does not fit the frame tightly so you have the light and noise coming through. There were no fabric curtains in my room, just slatted wooden shutters. I was super lucky and had a street light directly outside my room, brighter than a melting sun during the night despite having the slats closed. Perhaps the most bizarre thing was the light switch as you walk into the room. They had constructed a wardrobe and had to cut away part of the panel so you could squeeze your hand into the wardrobe to switch the light on and off... There was an enormous desk in the room (10ft x 3ft) way too big for the size of room and absolutely no functional use. At over $200 per night very poor value.
I booked my trip through Expedia. What a find Hotel Indigo Napa Valley was!!!!! Our first experience was at check in with Rovenna. Can't get more efficient that she was. Room were available and we didn't have to wait for the check in time. Rooms were fantastic, beds were incredible. Next was the Front Office Manager, Bradley. He gave us suggestions of small wineries that were close to the hotel. (We just had a few afternoon hours) Great suggestions. Karen is the hotel manager, if there is anything you want or would like to have happen she and Bradley will make it happen. I was with 3 girlfriends and we like to play bridge, eat and drink. Tables were pulled together and for the next few days "that was our place". The young lady that is the server for all dining is Camelle. Talk about a server that doesn't forget anything and takes care of soooo many. Our last day we met her mom that had been off and she was terrific and so proud of Camelle. Thanks to everyone for such an incredible experience. Jeanette Avery, Manhattan Beach, California
Is now a Hotel Indigo. As a Spire Elite member with IHG, I received no recognition whatsoever when checking in. No gift and/or points offer at all. Rooms were large, but there was no carpet anywhere, only two small runners on each side of the bed. No electricity outlets near the bed, which is alway irritating. My wife said there's very poor lighting over the vanity/mirror. We requested extra pillows before checking in, but none were present. Around 9PM, we called the front desk, after calling house keeping for 10 minutes with no one picking up. Front desk person answered then put us on hold for 5 minutes, then hung up. I walked down to the front desk and spoke to him personally, and he basically brushed me to the side while he answered the phone. After waiting in the empty lobby, a different person dressed in jeans and hooded sweatshirt brought me an extra pillow. Good value for location, right down the street from Yountville and great wineries, but don't plan on great service or comfortable rooms.
Hotel had just newly renamed to Hotel Indigo, so we thought service and amenities should be better than its previous Ivy Hotel. We checked in around 8pm at the hotel, headed out straight for dinner and when we returned to our room, I realised my beddings aren't new / clean, I found bit of stains and numbers of different kind of hairs ( you know what that mean :( ) in between the blanket and bed sheets.... grossest things ever!!! So i called Housekeeping and try to get someone to change the beddings for me, that was around 10PM, apparently no one from Housekeeping working by that time, so hotel front desk try to arrange someone ( after an hour ) to give us a 'new bed sheet' and we had to wrap ourselves to sleep between the used blanket and bed sheets... ewwwwwww worst hotel experience ever... Next morning we found out the Housekeeping storage room is just RIGHT OPPOSITE to our room, when the cleaning ladies was super noisy chatting and banging the doors at 9AM... Poor AC system by the way... either super cold, or super warm.
The Ivy Hotel hotel is located ton highway SR29 at the Northern part of Napa. The non-smoking hotel offers 115 rooms over floors 2. It features an outdoor pool that we didn’t use. The hotel was completely renovated in 2017. In details you notice hasty workmanship. Staffs are friendly. Free parking & Internet WiFi. Our room was new furnished and decorated. It had desk & chair, large flatscreenTV, chaise-longue, comfortable queen bed with good bed-linen, coffee-maker and a noisy fridge. The bathroom had washbasin, hair dryer, and a separate private toilet & shower. All was clean. The window can be slightly opened. Be prepared that though the door you hear the guests in the corridor. The air-conditioning is rather noisy. The complimentary continental breakfast is acceptable. In the Ivy Hotel Napa we had an OK stay. Recommended.
The hotel is off the main highway which is around 15min drive from the town of Napa, its a short drive from many vineyards and is clean and comfortable. Now called the hotel Indigo it has free parking, large rooms and a pool. Its fairly basic but if you are not spending much time in the hotel its perfect. There was no restaurant as it was being renovated but a local mexican restaurant close by. Bed was comfy, shower was warm. Would recommend for a short stay.
You can stay at the property but the poor workmanship and fittings became too numerous to mention. Doors not working, poor plumbing etc. There was also construction work going on with a team of workers on-site.
The hotel looks nice enough, with decent furnishings in the rooms and a pleasant lobby (though the restaurant was under construction). Our room was comfortable enough, with an odd layout that was tricky to navigate. The check-in took a while because of some issue with the group in front of us, though this was taken care of. There were a number of rowdy people hanging about so we were glad to get to our room -- Room 109 -- until we realized we could hear every word of our next-door neighbor's conversation clear as day through the adjoining room door. We eventually fell asleep. Checkout was easy enough and breakfast was eggs, hash browns, and some pastries and cereal, a bit better than your typical cheap hotel fare and included in the (exorbitant, $450) price of the room.
The hotel is going through some renovations to bring it up to date, didn't notice any noise as we only spent one night. The rooms are very modern and stylish, the lighting in the bathroom sink area is poor, very dark. The breakfast area must be under renovations as we had to go to a conference room building, there was the bread, cereal, waffles and eggs but only bananas for fruit. The hotel is a block off the main highway, our room was at the far end so don't know about any road noise.
