Can't wait to leave this hotel! It says it has wifi but has none(they'll blame your gadgets instead of fixing wifi) Breakfast is late and since it comes from the other hotel, it looks like leftovers. Insects are everywhere (dead and alive). It's no smoking in the room but they smell anyway as they allow smoking 2 feet away from the rooms. 2 days and my electronic lock no longer works. What makes it worse, manager is nowhere to be found!!! Staff says he/she will come but won't even bother to call back. So don't be deceived!!! It's nowhere near Accor standards that we all know!
I transited N'Djamena on my arrival and then stayed for 2 nights before departure. Both my rooms were nice and up to Western standard, though equipment was not fully functional in either (i.e. electrical plug didn't fit the socket!). AmEx payment didn't work, I had to pay in cash.
My visit in Chad is for my office work for a month, I am living in Novatel since 3 days now. Poor Poor Poor internet connection they have; that I am unable to do my office work. I am looking for some better place now. Made complaints many times but they can't resolve the internet issue. Hotel Lobby, food and swimming pool are OK; you can spend evening in the park;but rooms are below average; feeling that i am living in some Hostel. Noisy AC also creating the disturbance. Management representative; please dont copy paste your comment on all complaints/Bad experiences but look for resolving those issues. Thank you
My first stay in this hotel was last July 2016. Room didn't impressed me but was OK. I liked the evening atmosphere of the swimming pool area and its outside restaurant/bar ...and the beautiful big tree that is in between the hotel door and the outside restaurant. You have a buffet dinner in the inside restaurant but i definitely prefer the outside restaurant. The menu has not a broad choice of dishes but the food is good and there is always the menu of the day. Lamb gigot is very good. Take care in periods of mosquitoes!! trick: ask a waiter to direct a fan towards your table; all will then be perfect and you'll enjoy your meal ! Last January 2017 I was accommodated in another hotel in Ndjamena (that I do not recommend) ...but came for dinner at Novotel !
This hotel is a very good option in N'Djamena. It seems the rooms were recently renovated with new furniture and are very comfortable and clean. The hotel has two restaurant options, one inside with a buffet selection and one next to the swimming pool with a la carte menu. The hotel does have a large pool. Even though the hotel does not have a gym, there is a tennis court, and a running track around the hotel, which is very convenient and seems quite popular. In terms of security, the hotel seems quite secure. The hotel has wireless internet which can be slow at times. However, it is quite common in Chad. All in all, it is a secure, comfortable and clean hotel. Would stay there again.
The hotel is nice. Good food ! Rooms are clean and spacious. The only bummer is the fact internet connexion is not reliable. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Based on where you are in the hotel, it doesn't work the same, so if you're unlucky and in a room a bit far, you won't have a great internet. Also, in the last two days, there was not any internet connexion. Last thing, the pool is great but on Sundays there are a lot of French Military guys which is fine. But they just all stare at the one or two girls that are here. So, quick advice or you guys, instead of starring to someone, just go and talk to them. It'll be less uncomfortable.
nice place to be visit but the food is not very good so don't eat at the hotel go outside and visit the restaurant Carnivour it realy nice with a lot a fun things to be done and a lot of a teasty plate to be tryed
Had a great Dinner with brilliant food at a great price. The place is old and a bit run down. In desperate need of some love and attention. Also a bit overpriced for the quality, although I did not stay there.
To simplify my review of this hotel, it's easier to just list the positives and negatives rather than write an essay: Positives: 1. Room is clean and tidy and bed is OK. 2. Shower was excellent and very modern. 3. Swimming Pool was OK and the gardens are well kept. 4. The room safe works! Negatives: 1. Least helpful reception staff I've ever encountered. 2. Room had a kettle, but no complimentary tea or coffee. 3. Aircon was just about sufficient in the room. 4. No 'Do Not Disturb' sign to put outside your door. 5. No room service menu in the room even though the hotel offers it. 6. TV reception was dreadful. I could barely make out what was on. 7. WIFI is HORRIBLE. Barely functional and it was a pain to login. 8. Very limited choice at breakfast. 9. Restaurant Calao only open from 7-10pm. 10. Food from Restaurant Sao outside was barely edible and undercooked. I hate writing a primarily negative review, but this hotel is not great. It's frustrating because it has so much potential. I took a chance staying here and it didn't pay off. I'll probably try the Hilton next time I'm in N'Djamena.
Apparently the rooms have been recently refurbished.... well, it's clean and everything is working, but nothing is new... maybe repainted? but, it's ok. Breakfast buffet is ok. I haven't tried lunch, but in the evening you have the choice between a buffet (not much choice) and a very limited menu outside near the pool. Good free WIFI coverage Anyway, I had a good stay and I appreciated the service. The manager is always around ready to help.
