We booked The Luxury Suite that would accommodate our family of 5. At almost $300/night In the off-season we had expectations of a decent hotel room.
The “luxury suite” is in reality a two-story condo in such disrepair (no freezer handle, exposed outlet in kids room, fixtures falling off the wall, closet pull missing, tippy toilet, ripped couch, missing stove, moldy shower caulk). It is so cheaply furnished with threadbare linens from someone’s grandmother’s house that had years-old stains and ramshackle furniture from various sets all thrown together. Cheapest possible mattress. There was a lamp cord draped across a walking space in the living room that was nearly invisible and tripped my son. The bathroom fixtures are baby blue and definitely from the 80’s. There are handwritten signs taped up in places within the room.
There is no phone in the room although the phone cord is wrapped around the lamp so there was one???? No coffee set-up in the room although there is a coffee maker and microwave.
Just to make things even worse, the super noisy Amtrak train runs directly behind the building every few hours. When I asked about it, we were told it stopped at 10pm but it ran until 11:15pm and started again at 5am.
The room was fairly clean but musty smelling like nana’s house. This “inn” is a motel in terrible disrepair. They need to modernize if they are going to ever compete with even the cheapest chain motel. Ick.
