Nice place to stay. Very clean and polite staff. Enjoyed the stay. Two issues are the elevators are slow and usually very busy. And when you are on the 17th floor, this can be an issue. And the parking in the garage under the building can be difficult. They have additional parking out back in another parking building, but it can be inconvenient. The pool was nice. Beach access straight across the road. It is a busy spot. Get there early if you want a good spot. Several things are in walking distance. But the main activities are further out. This can be a good thing! We rested and enjoyed our stay.
This place met all our needs. It was nice but definitely not the nicest blue green resort we've been too. Short walk to the beach. Clean but on the small side compared to other bluegreen resorts. Pool is much smaller than photos you do have access to the pools and lazy river at the resort across the street but they are very small also. Parking garage is nice so you don't have to worry about your car. The elevator is quite slow as there is only 2 for the whole building and parking garage that consists of 20 floors. No service elevator so even employees use the only 2 elevators. Very comfy beds and rooms very quiet even though we were only 1 floor above the pool.
It is hard to be judgmental about a hotel stay that had all the basics but somehow left your expecting that. The staff was present, but invisible. The 24 hour coffee machine in the lobby was excellent but not hyped. The bedding was clean and comfortable without fanfare. The overall experience was excellent without thought. Would stay here again.
Friends of ours couldn't use their week due to an illness in the family, so they allowed us to stay here. Great facility in the heart of Myrtle Beach, across the street from the ocean. Hope to return again some day.
We spent 3 nights/4 days recently at this Myrtle Beach ocean front hotel and came away with mixed feelings. Price was certainly an attraction as it's moderately priced but you have to be accepting that its a bit tired and needs a re-do. We stayed in the north tower so our comments reflect that building... not sure whether the south tower is any better. We did hear from an employee that plans were in the works for renovations. In fact there was evidence during our stay that management is tackling this issue and some preliminary work is underway. Fresh paint, new carpeting, etc. will be a big improvement once it's done. As for our room, we were pleased with our small kitchen, and ocean view with balcony. Mattress was firm and the room was cleaned thoroughly every day. The pool and pool area is small, and I image could quickly become crowded but a beautiful beach is only steps away so no problem. Staff were pleasant, friendly and very helpful. Skip the free breakfast, nothing special. Loved the location, we walked everywhere.
This was our first stay here. We thought the room and amenities in it were very nice and the view from the 18th floor balcony was great. The big negative was the room design that allows for way too much sound travelling through the hallways and the adjoining suite. There was a family with two very loud crying toddlers next door and this was a real disappointment. Not sure if they need better sound proofing or floors for families vs. couples. We will not plan to return because of the experience with the constant noise distractions.
This was our first visit to this timeshare location, and I dare say, it won't be the last. What a great facility. The rooms were very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the living room furniture was also comfortable. It's a great location just across the road from the beach. Plenty of things to do at and around the resort. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Love, love, love it!
Location is good - just off the beach and a few blocks from the end of the boardwalk. Limited restaurant options within close walking distance, but the best restaurants were driving distance anyway. Sea Captain's House about 5 blocks north was vey good for breakfast, lunch or dinner but we typically frequented Murrells Inlet. Our 1 bedroom unit was a bit small but comfortable. Despite being across the street from the beach with high rises on the Oceanside, the unit's balcony provided a good view of the ocean. The view from the third or fourth floor might not be as good, however, as we could see over the older low rise across the street. The building however was not well soundproofed - lots of footsteps and door closures. Although it generally did not cause us a problem, I can see the two elevators getting stressed if they had 100+ rooms filled up.
The location is pretty good. The beach is right across the street (2 minute walk). Parking is tight unless you have a compact car. The room amenities are decent. In room washer and dryer, stove, and refrigerator. The room was fairly clean, could be better though. The bathroom had a super slow draining sink. I hate that! Overall maintenance was a bit lacking. Painting was sloppily done and some repairs done very cheaply. This is a time share and I'd like to see better before I lay out my hard earned cash. The front desk staff really pressures you to attend their meetings. Not something anyone really wants to do while on vacation!
Couldn't give it a 5 due to 2 reasons. They do have wifi, but in our one bedroom unit, we didn't a signal that would stay connected while we were in the living room. If we needed to hit the net, it had to be in the bedroom. Worked just fine in the bedroom. The other reason I can't give it a 5 is because I think some upgrades are needed in the room we were in. The couch was so uncomfortable. Sitting on the couch, the cushions would end up moving forward. Not a big deal, but it was a pain having to get up and reseat the cushions. I would recommend Carolina Grande to family and friends.
