On the 13th of August, we checked into this hotel quite late at night and explained our situation to the reception staff. They were lovely and advised that despite of our non refundable fare type we could check out the next day and move to another hotel which is closer to the hospital (as a few of our friends had injured themselves and were in hospital). After check in we were immediately alarmed to find sewerage water coming out of the showers. We used bottle water to rinse of (to which we were charged of course). The next day, and with new staff on reception, we were told that we would not be receiving the promised refund and that we have no written proof of the promise made the night before. I have called the property daily and after 6 days finally had the manager answer her phone to which she requested ANY proof of hospital admission. I received a response today after calling three times and sending 4 emails/online requests. Her response was disgusting! I was told that the invoice and testing requests from the hospital is not addequate and that I need a letter from the doctor in Mykonos (which is funny as I'm not there anymore and this is why I drove down to see her on my last day) this hotel is appalling and you'd be silly to stay here! We're currently in the process of getting a letter from the hospital but the lack of concern, communication and overall attitude displayed is appalling. Save your money and stay somewhere else in Mykonos
I'm really surprised to read such bad reviews about the hotel and staff! My husband and I stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon and I found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The woman that worked at the front desk (I believe her name was Marrietta?) was soooooo nice we even hugged her when we checked out! Emilia was also extremely helpful and walked us through the map and where to go. Everything she suggested we did was amazing. The bartender (Elias?) was a doll and had great conversations. The greek salad and fried chicken sandwich were delicious! We really just slept here and spent the mornings there as we went to the beaches everyday. The only thing I would say is that the luggage took forever to come to the rooms and be picked up from the rooms so we just did it ourselves but that wasn't the end of the world for us. Not saying that the people who gave the bad reviews were rude or demanding in anyway but as someone who works in the customer service industry.....if I ever have to complain about something to someone I do it was a bit of kindness so that you're met with kindness and a solution back. Works for us!
i enjoy my living in hotel.They have good service the food was very good also almost all service was excellent.i really remebered my vacation in this hotel with best memmories.THANK YOU and for sure i will advertize you to my friends
The place was wonderful, I had absolutely nothing to complain for. The room was clean, cozy, well decorated, and very important: it was quiet. Breakfast was good, the view was good, the pool was good. The staff were all very polite and smiling, you could tell from the reception that everything would be great. I was unsure at first because I read a few negative reviews among a lot of positive ones, but my experience was very positive, overall. I 'd definitely recommend this for everyone.
Overall pretty good vacation, the location is very nice combined with quiet and peaceful setting. The rooms were quiet good and so was the food that we tried. Also the staff was available to help with our requests within reasonable time frames.
The view was really breathtaking and rewarding. Delicious meals were served in a luxurious environment, comfortable and airy rooms with a great range of facilities but the asset of the hotel was the friendly and polite staff ready to satisfy your needs.
Our recent stay at Mykonian Mare Luxury Boutique Hotel was an absolute nightmare. Upon check-in (at 2.00pm even though we had booked an early check-in) we were told our room was not ready. Two hours later when we were taken to our room they tried to give us a downgraded room - seems like the one they try to give everybody else - a room with a a spa in the bedroom and overlooking the main entrance and car park (advertised on their website as Spa Sea View with Jacuzzi). When we complained that this was not the room we booked we were told that they only use photographs of their best rooms and cannot guarantee rooms with a spa on the balcony. We had booked a Deluxe Suite Sea View with Jacuzzi (on the balcony). This sounds a bit like false advertising to me.......When we refused to accept this room they upgraded us to a better room but told us we could only have it for 2 nights (our stay was for 6). Though our "upgraded" room had an outside spa and a lovely view, the room was tiny. After the two nights we moved into something that resembled what we had originally booked - however no radio, CD player or sofa as advertised. We booked a Deluxe Sea View Suite with Jacuzzi - there is no way that our room was a 'suite' and was at best just a standard room with a spa on the balcony. One has to wonder if there actually are any suites and our room was nothing like the picture on their website. Not once during our stay was our room cleaned before 6.00pm and only after I had complained to the management. Their idea of cleaning the room was pulling the bedcovers up and placing some clean rolled up towels on the bed. During our entire stay in our second room (4 nights) our bed linen was never changed. Our shower, basins and tap ware were not cleaned either and in all honesty I don't think the cleaning staff even went out onto our balcony...... the ashtray from the previous guests was also not cleaned during our stay. We too experienced a water cut (we were told a broken pipe) for a short time and black water for a few minutes until it was sorted out - this of course can be accepted as unavoidable disaster do happen, and I have to say that the handyman was very professional - one of only 4 staff that are of any value in that hotel. Getting onto staff and management - as far as I'm concerned the only staff worth keeping (including front office) are the two barmen, the wonderful masseuse and of course the handyman). The rest are completely useless and have no clue how to run a hotel. During our stay at the hotel we were certainly not the only customers complaining and all we got were excuses. I appreciate that we were staying over peak season and that comes with problems but in all honesty I don't think front office have the ability to manage a hotel. This was certainly not the luxury experience we were expecting. What a pity as the hotel grounds are very pretty and the view amazing. With the right management and staff perhaps who knows how well they could do......
Hello to all of the visitors! I must admit that the previous reviews took me by surprise, since our stay at this marvellous hotel was just a pleasure!! My boyfriend and I adore luxury hotels such as this, and we actually had a great time there in our anniversary! I have to say that the hotel gave us an experience of luxury with such an aesthetic and interior design, excellent food and servises. First of all, the feeling of cleanliness was allover the hotel since the main places of the hotel were shining or even the utility/amenity places such as the spa and gym, as well as the room was always tidy and fresh with spectacular view. Moreover, the reception servises were really helpful since our taxi was daily on time and all their recommendations on behald of the hotel reception were on spot - we felt that all of our requests were immediatelly fulfilled. Last but not least, Locaya restaurant was a surprise for us, especially the chicken with lentil salad plate and the pork tenterloin, as well as the chocolate mousse dessert with pink-white chocolate sause (which we first saw on Instagram page of the hotel) and the nami verte cocktail- my boyfriend was an ethousiast of deep purple cocktail, which we all highly recommend and are value for money too - while the cocktails are available at the hotel bar as well. In a nutshell, the hotel was a catch for us since it perfectly fits to our needs and taste. We are planning our next trip to Mykonian mare for which we can't wait! It was one of our best vac ever!!
I have never trusted bad reviews until today. I read a bad one on the way to the hotel from the day before but I thought it was something a side... What a moment to not think on it. First we arrive to the hotel, room was not ready because check is at 2pm, we've wait until then and once back the room was not done, here starts the nightmare. All kind of lies to excuse the delay (guests that make the check out late and do not leave until they want, too many checks in in a row, sick people) well we got at 3.15pm in the room. The property has a transfer service, sounds good but not, you book a time to be picked and inform to wait on the recepcion, then they forgive you because they call to your room and you didnt picked up the phone. Now you need to wait for 1h to be transferred. The same when returning back. The next day was perfectas we book a cruise throuth the south coast until we arrive at 6.30pm at the hotel. The room was not done still! So we went to reception and the guy told us if we have the paper "do not disturb" in the door (they dont even have at the property) but ok in 5 min he will send someone. 1hr later room was as before. We decided not to stay and that we wanted our money back, but it is like talking to no one. They only try to excuse with more lies. Today before the check out we request the complain paper and they gave us a blank paper, they say they dont have that only the manager, that is in a meeting, we are still waiting for her to finish it but we dont expect to see her... Please ic you dont want to ruin your holidays DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. I hope this will be read and avoid to destroy your stance at mykonos.
My friend and I booked a sea view and Jacuzzi suite for 3 nights. The reality couldn't have been further away from a luxurious 5 star hotel experience. Upon check-in the hotel greeted us with drinks by the poolside while the room was still being cleaned. We welcomed it happily despite our desire to just go to our room, since it was already 17:00 and it is not likely not to be able to check in at this hour. We finally received our room an hour later and it was not what we ordered: a back room without any sea view, with a hot tub placed right in the middle of it and not on the balcony with the sea in the back like we saw in the photos, and completely not worth the high price that we paid. When we complained to the hotel they admitted they made a mistake and said they were fully booked so they'll compensate us somehow. Finally after an hour more we received a room with a private pool as a compensation. We of course would've settled for the room the we originally booked, but they have told us it was the only one available. When we received the room there was only one towel and one robe and no amenities as you would normally get. We asked for them but we didn't receive it until night when we had to ask for them once again. The cleaner only arrived in the afternoon - the worst possible time to clean a room - while we are resting and organizing. Even then, we still didn't get the towels and amenities that we asked for. On that evening we reserved the hotel's free transfer service to the town. We then arrived to the lobby only to find out they sent different guests with our reserved transfer, and told us to order a 30 EUR taxi instead. They didn't offer us any solution or compensation for their mistake, didn't even offer to pay for their error. On the next evening we reserved the hotel's free transfer at 19:30 and it did arrive in time, but during our ride we discovered that the ride wasn't free and we had to pay our driver. The driver helped us to call the hotel, and we stressed that we are not going to pay for this transfer, because we were misinformed. In the end we were charged for this ride in our check out. When I told the reception we were specifically told that transfers between the hours 7-10pm were no charge they argued with us very unkindly. One of the clerks even told us that they gave us a better room that was worth hundreds of Euros more and it is ridiculous that I argue over 30 Euros and I should even ask my parents to see why we should not argue (we are 29 years old adults). It was insulting and inappropriate to patronize me this way, and I asked to speak with a manager. She then went to retrieve the manager, but when she came back she only told us that the manager is now watching us over the security cameras, she doesn't want to meet us and we must pay the bill fully without any complaints or else she will call the tourist police. Never in my life was I so insulted and humiliated in a hotel by people who should host me pleasently! On that very last day we reserved a shuttle to the airport 2 hours before our flight, following the hotel staff's recommendation. To our amazement the car was not there in time and we were told there was an approximally 20 minutes delay with the car. Luckily there was another van waiting outside to pick up other guests to the airport, but since we were not listed on it the hotel wasn't willing to send us with it. We asked the hotel to help up but it was of no use. We didn't want to take the risk of missing our flight and we ran out of energy to argue with staff over and over, so we were forced to pay for the transfer to the airport. No other 5 stars hotel would ever allow it to happen. It is important to mention that we were not the only ones suffering from the hotel's poor service. At any given point the reception was busy with guests who complained for many problems and had to face a helpless staff who couldn't really deal with the countless mistakes.
