Little Venice Suites4.0 out of 5.0

Have just returned from a 6 week holiday in Europe and one of the highlights was our stay in Mykonos. Not only is this island absolutely gorgeous but Little Venice Suites as far as we’re concerned is the best place to stay. The view from the suites and quality of the accommodation is 5 star. As cars can’t travel in the streets our host met us at the entry of the town, took our luggage and walked us through to our magical spot on Mykonos. Then on departure did the same. They were the perfect hosts recommending best restaurants to try and very helpful with where to go and see. The accommodation with its own jacuzzi was just gorgeous and the bed was superb. Just didn’t want to leave.
I was expecting a lot more from the photos but seriously should have known better too!! As much as it has a lot of nice extras / lights , bed , pillows... the main lacking thing for me was the view. Yes there are the balcony but what happens when it’s rain ? Have to sit inside and look at a wall. And then as you jest fall asleep you are woken by the bar close by with its music and offensive language. Yes lovely but yes - noisey , tight , Not sure what else to say
We had the room right at the top. The view is stunning and the jaccuzi is definetely fun! LVS is perfectly located right by the waterfront, easy to get to, with a beautiful view of the windmills and the sea. The rooms are charming and comfortable, the shower is great. Niko is a lovely host and very helpful. The entire little venice and Mykonos town area is a maze of white alleys and absolutely charming. Going in Oct was a risk but we got lucky with sunny days so it really was perfect. We wouldn't have liked the crazy summer crowds I would definitely stay here again.
Be careful about booking your room. Pictures are definitely deceiving. Split level room is not luxury. This is a room for you to crash after 3am and take a shower. The space is very confined. Luxury is the ability to relax in your room and enjoy a real view as advertised from a Chair. The hotel is snug next to a restaurant/ dance bar with music going on until 3-4pm The view is literally the tiny window in the loft while sitting on your knees on the bed to look out. The bed touches 3 walls. One bathroom window faces the restaurant while the other faces the walkway. Your deck is considered to be outside the front desk where you check in.- which is just outside your door. We had to check out next day.
We stayed here for two days. Windmill views right across are clutch! Everything is walking distance from the hotel location. Nikos is a one man show over here, he goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and worthwhile.
There are two stars in Mykonos. The first is Petros, the pelican who wonders around the town as if he owns the place - and probably does! The second is Nikos who manages Little Venice Suites. Nothing was too much trouble for Nikos, from arranging pick-up from the airport to recommending the best beaches to visit and restaurants to eat, his enthusiasm and advice made our stay special. We stayed in the top floor suite that provides spectacular views out to sea. Taking coffee on the balcony in the morning is only surpassed by drinking a glass of wine in the evening. Our room was clean and had all the amenities needed, including safe, fridge, coffee machine and kettle. It was also thoroughly cleaned every day, as was the bathroom. While the suites are centrally located the downside is that they are not in the quietest part of town. This didn't really both us as the double glassed windows and doors are quite effective, as is the air conditioning. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mykonos experience at Little Venice Suites.
Little Venice Suites is an outstanding small boutique hotel. Excellent location in the center of Little Venice and the water views are incomparable! The host Nikos was a perfect host and an absolute wealth of local information. Some hints: call with your arrival and arrange a transfer (at least from the airport). Taxis are at a premium and will drop you a distance from Little Venice Suites (LVS). Our guy got us closer but pointed to the waterfront and said it was the one at the end with blue balcony....dude they almost all have blue balconies and it turned out LVS does not! Otherwise good luck navigating the passageways and finding someone who knows exactly where you want to go. If you do turn at Veranda bar and walk towards water and look left up the steep stairs. Yes, the stairs are steep. Rooms: Awesome! We were next to reception but very quiet due to limited coming and going. All the amenities worked and the shower was kind of nice, multi-jet, once you figured it out. View from the deck cannot be matched. Perfect place for sunset! Hint: go to the liquor store for a “packie run” and sit, sip and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Oh and watch the people paying extra for drinks of the sunset side bars down below or next door. Noise: yes there is music starting in the afternoon until early morning like 0300 from places nearby. We closed the windows and turned on the air conditioning and slept fine. It did take a bit getting used to but it was okay. Unfortunately due to predicted weather we left a day early. Nikos arranged transfer to the ferry docks and his driver got close by. Would recommend but understand you are in a hub of fun loving activity and the stairs up are steep. But great location, views and host!
I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. We stayed for 7 nights for our honeymoon in a room with a jacuzzi on the balcony and it was just perfect. The location is amazing, right in the centre of everything but most importantly the most amazing place to watch the sunset. Whilst people scramble to get to bars early to get good seats to watch the sunset we had the best seats on our balcony. We started every evening drinking wine and watching the sun set. Beautiful. It's alos high up so you get the nice breeze which is essential when it's so hot. I've seen a lot of people mention noise from the bar below but i really think that's exaggerated. If you close the soundproof windows and have the air con on you can barely hear it. I think it would only upset people who can't tolerate any sound at all but it didn't affect us at all and we were always in bed before the bar closed. I actually enjoyed having the bar below. They don't play music during the day, it's just a restaurant. The music starts early evening before the sunset and it's actually really nice to have as the music they play is really chilled out and relaxed for the sunset which just adds to the ambience. In terms of location it's in the centre of Little Venice and opposite a shortcut to the old port so everything is literally on your doorstep. The room was lovely and clean (cleaned every day to a really good standard), with great air con and moddern facilities. The shower was great. If there was anything to criticise (and I'm stretching it) there are no drawers to keep clothes in. Anything you can't hang up has to either go on the shelf around the room or in your case. Nothing to worrk about though! There was a fridge to keep drinks in and a coffee machine. The security safe worked well (some don't) and there are plenty of plug sockets. The balcony was amazing with good seating and of course the jacuzzi. It's worth pointing out the steps up to reception are very steep and there are also stairs to the room so if you struggle with mobility it's probably not the place for you. The host Nikos was absolutely fantastic. He rang me on the day we flew out to ask if I needed him to book transport from the airport and then met us and helped carry our bags to the hotel (it's a bit of a walk from the closest place to park) even though we got in quite late. Throughout the stay he helped us with the best places to go and his recommendations were spot on. At the end of out stay we decided to change our flights and stay longer. Sadly this hitel was booked but Nikos helped us find another one and his tips on how to book it saved us 250 euros on the advertised price. I've been to Mykonos before and stayed in a luxury hotel but now when I come back I will only want to stay at the Little Venice Suites.
My wife and I visited Mykonos (my first visit, her second) in early September for what was initially 7 days. We found Little Venice Suites due to its location, booked because we couldn’t say no to the private balcony and hot tub. I don’t think we could have found a better place to stay - right from the start we loved it. Nikos who runs the suites was as helpful as we could have hoped, helping us with recommendations, travel and more. The room itself isn’t the biggest we’ve ever stayed in, but the location couldn’t have been better. I’ve read a lot of reviews on here and other sites and there’s a lot of negative feedback about the noise (there is a club right outside that stays open through the early hours) and it was those that prompted me to write this review. If you can’t handle any noise whatsoever then it’s probably not for you, but the soundproofing is good enough so that it’s barely noticeable - if you are or have ever slept next to someone who snores for example, you’d be fine. We found that unless you book a venue further out and deal with the long walk into town every night, most hotels are next to one of the many clubs in town - none with a view quite like here though. Absolutely perfect for the typical windmills and sunset this time of year, the best way to avoid the huge gathering of people on the seafront near the windmills! We enjoyed our stay so much we chose to extend our holiday for a further 3 nights, unfortunately the suites were booked up and we had to move to another hotel - as much as we enjoyed that, it just re-emphasised how good this place is! We’re definitely going back and we’d aim to get the same room with the jacuzzi, I couldn’t recommend this enough. 5 stars from our holiday.
My husband and I loved being in the heart of Little Venice! The views overlooking the windmills and sunsets is how we enjoyed every evening before dinner. It is great to be in the heart of everything and able to escape the crowds. The rooms are small but well decorated with a Greek interior design. The air condition is powerful so you won't be hot in the summer. They have a small fridge so you can store wine or drinks so you can enjoy the sea views from your deck. They provide water, orange juice, and coffee in your room daily. We were celebrating our Anniversary and they left a bottle of Greek white wine for us to enjoy. Niko helped us with our luggage when we arrived. The stairs are steep so that was helpful. He provided us with a friendly smile and lots of information about Mykonos. When we checked out he even helped take our bags to the town Seabus. He is there during the day to help you with anything you may need. You will be near all the bars, shops, and restaurants which makes for a fun stay. The Veranda Bar is next door and yes the music is loud. We enjoyed feeling part of the party every night on our deck without being in the crowded bar. We could enjoy the live saxophone music with our store bought Champagne. The music is loud until 2 :00 am every night. (Tip- Bring a sound machine with you and put on sleep sounds and with the air conditioning on it will drown out the music) However, we found ourselves enjoying the nightlife each night. If you need peace and quiet this may not be the place for you but if you come to Mykonos to enjoy a little nightlife it is a great place to stay. We would definitely stay here again. Little Venice was our favorite area in Mykonos. Tip- There is a liquor store nearby to save money on cocktails and wine. Drinks are expensive in Mykonos. We enjoyed a bottle of Champagne each night on our deck. I am all about enjoying luxury on a budget.
