Staff was nice but hotel was surrounded by questionable pepole at best. Carpet was filthy, hallways were filthy. The building smelled of smoke even though it was non smoking. Area was loud and shady people were coming in and out hanging outside the hotel and hallways.

Stayed there with family 1 night during 4th of July weekend. The location was not lovely but not scary, notwithstanding what people say about Muskegon Heights--not much to do by the hotel but it was easy to get in and out, right off the main road. Didn't see any meth-heads wandering around the premises. The room was pretty gross--the floors badly needed vacuuming, as did the hallways outside. The carpets were just nasty. Shower, faucets, doors, &c. all worked fine.

Pictures online do not reflect the actual condition of this hotel. This place is a slum. Hallway carpeting very filthy, wasn't vacuumed. No ice in the ice machines. ALL the ice machines were non-functioning and it appears that they have been that way for quite some time. Was told that a new ice machine was on order. Yeah, right! Pool is very small. Management closed the pool and hot tub as the paint at the bottom was peeling and someone got hurt. Refrigerator in room had to be exchanged for a different one as the freezer was frosted solid. Had to ask for towels. Sheets and towels were terrible. The towels left lint on you when you used them and we found long black hair strands on the sheets. The laminate wood floors in our room were sticky. This place has long term tenants who approach other guests asking for cigarette(s) and other shenanigans going on. This hotel needs major renovations.

Decent stay for the price compared to other hotels in the area (even though it still seemed overpriced). Staff was nice, complimentary breakfast was appreciated, bathtub didn't really drain and the wifi and blowdryer didn't work, but I didn't expect much different. The carpets really do need to be changed but the ones in the rooms were fine. Overall it was just fine for our one night stay

Was OK, but needs improvement. Rooms were fine, breakfast area good . Need to look ad feel more up to date.

The room smelled odd I am not sure how to explain it maybe very old smoking room? The comforter was either on the bed dirty or it was stained but I wouldn't want to investigate with a black-light. My biggest issue was the water in the shower, there was no happy medium for temperature it was 300 degrees or ice cold it made it very difficult to shower and I am glad my son didn't use it. The refrigerator froze everything, the tv was fuzzy and the wifi was horrible but those are all things that are minor.

I would recommend this to anyone. First of all, great staff, they are like family and treat you like family. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The cleaning staff has a very good personality, and they are good at their jobs cleaning rooms. They do accommodate with anything you need.

The hotel was close to places to eat and sight see. The only problem was that the carpet was so dirty we had to wash the children feet to remove the blackness from the bottom of their feet after running around the carpet before bedtime.

Staff were great and very helpful. Room smelled, a/c was pretty weak, no elevator to second floor for luggage, and rough neighborhood.

Travelling with two small dogs and having mibility problems can be challenging. However, the staff here did everything possible to be sure that we were not only comfortable but welcome at this time of year.

The hotel was not very clean. Need to clean carpets.

I came to the hotel with my family. When we pulled up we were not impressed with the looks. The staff were friendly and helpful but the appearance of the hotel as well as our room needs improvements.

Great room at great price. Very clean and comfortable.

Met my needs exactly. Clean and safe. Nice staff.Older but nice.

Very nice stay for the value Beds are a little stiff

The person that checked us in was really nice, but the other desk workers seemed unconcerned about our questions. We stayed two nights, so we hung up our towels for the next day. When we returned the next evening, they were gone, and NOT replaced. Nice pool area, but need more ice machines; they were hard to find. The outside was not welcoming, but was very nice inside.

Noisy, crowded, carpet, fixtures worn, not sparkling clean.

Hotel was very easy to find. But not close to anything. But very comfortable room and excellent price. Pool was small, but very clean.

Staff was helpful and polite, but didn't do anything extra. They are working on improving the place - some areas of new carpet and painting obvious. This might be a rather nice place once the improvements are completed. It was quite. Unable to open the window for fresh air. The location is isolated. No restaurants or cafes within walking distance. There is a coffee shop about a mile down the road, but you have to drive. We left at 5:45 a.m. and the hotel restaurant was not open yet, so can't comment on food. I would recommend this place if nothing better was available.

Upon arrival, we could not believe how bad the surrounding area looked. Everything looked run down and we were a little worried. When we walked into the hotel where our room was located it appeared that they were renovating. There was plastic on the carpet and the walls were half painted. But when we walked into our room we were impressed. A little worried when we saw the hallways but our room was clean, and well put together. The only other thing was there was no ice machines that we could find and the one pop machine by our room was all sold out. Thank God they had a security guard who was very friendly and watched over our vehicles. The hotel has great potential and I hope other hotels and business follow suit because that area could use a boost.
