Captain's Cottage Suites

Really liked the location and set up. The only down side was the couch in the living room. It was so uncomfortable to sit on, and there weren't any foot stools to put your legs up. Would have loved to have had some history on the property, and maybe some pictures of the other 2 suites.

This place was very cute and cozy, our suite was perfect for two couples or a family of four. The location is right by main street so lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance, as well as being right next to the waterfront. I didn't give this place the highest marks for a couple reasons. The jetted tub is wonderful, but looked like it had been wiped down and not scrubbed well. I told the property manager and she apologized and offered to have housekeeping come over to do it right away. She also have us a discount on our rate. That was great, I was satisfied with the response. The only other problem was that I ended up stepping on a couple small pieces of broken glass that had been overlooked when cleaning. They didn't look like broken dishes - this place supplies you with a few and some silverware - but like a tenant had broken something and neglected to tell the property manager so they weren't looking for it. I didn't feel like it was neglect on their part and I didn't cut myself very bad at all but my 16 months old son was crawling around on the floor and I would have been very upset if he had cut himself. I informed the manager when we left and she seemed baffled and very upset. I have no doubt the issue was isolated and will be attended to. So other then our random hiccups I think they offer a very quaint and reasonable lodging. Do try the tub!

Very cute and clean place. 2 blocks from downtown. View of the river and minutes from the beach. Fall was a bit surprising as a lot of the shops were closed assuming for the winter which I would think would remain open for the color change visitors.
