Stayed one Saturday night booked off the Marriott website. Only €53 which is a steal. Disclaimer: I am a Marriott Platinum member. It's a modern hotel with ultra modern rooms. The first surprise is that the shower is in a glass cubicle in the 'middle of the room. They've done this, I suspect, (i) because it's modern and (ii) because it makes the room appear more spacious. It's a fancy shower and you can get water from all angles - a rain shower, a standard handset and then from the sides. Nothing wrong with the shower itself but housekeeping had left the shower on the handset and the handset pointing at the door. I turned on the shower and got a face full of water. Decent sized room. Desk, small wardrobe, sofa. Wifi worked well. Two things which were really annoying: 1. The bed (conformable enough) squeaked; 2. The toilet, in another darkened glass portioned area, only had an automatic light switch. So, if you got up in the middle of the night for a visit there was no way to stop the light turning on. These two issues (especially the squeaky bed which is not part of the design) caused me to knock off a star in the rating - down to 3*. However, our rate included breakfast and when reception understood we had to leave the hotel before breakfast started the next morning they arranged a take away breakfast. A sandwich, bottle of juice and water and a banana for us. So they get their star back ;-) The hotel is in the outskirts of town but there is a tram stop just across the road and this takes 10 mins (and ~€ 2.10) to get to the edge of the pedestrianised area which makes it another 10 mins walk to the cathedral down the main shopping street past the casino. The trams appear to run every 5-10 minutes. So getting into town is no big deal. Finally, don't pay the hotel for parking. There is plenty of street parking in the vicinity.
This hotel does not have a restaurant or even a grill although it says it is a quality hotel. The nearest restaurant is a taxi ride away.... Although on the web site it says it has a restaurant the reality is that on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights it is closed. In a quality hotel to offer a small damp sandwich with cheap cheese and even cheaper ham for 10€ each does not hack it. The car parking is another 20€ and the entire place is pretentious for what in effect is a 1 or 2 star service. We only chose this hotel as we were tired and wanted to have a meal and go to bed. No meal and a damp sandwich does not hack it - will never stay here again.
Because Murcia it's not a tourist destination (in August almost all the restaurants are closed in the historical centre), staying more than 24 hours it is lost time. Nice hotel, nice staff, very clean, nice breakfast, easy to find free parking in front of the hotel. Safe area. And very cheap. Long distance to the centre (25 mins walk or take the tram for 2 stations(1,05 Eur) and 10 mins walk).
We stay there one night before.going to La Manga and it was very accesible to going to downtown. Nice service and a Goodrich breakfast although it is ten minutes from the. beateful Murcia catedral. An small swimming pool although it is open from 12.30
Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. Nice room with comfortable beds, was missing bathrobes and slippers and safe in the room though. Toilet cover was broken. Breakfast had nice selection of food. Did not like fruit as it was not freshly cut. Reception staff was nice. Garage parking not too convenient as very hard to leave from there - very narrow exit. And we had mid size car. In general good stay for money paid here.
I've been on a business trip and the hotel has been recommended to me. And what shall I say, it was a very good recommendation. Had a very nice room. Staff was very friendly and supportive. Pool is not very big but more than sufficient for a workout. I can absolutely recommend that hotel. Next time in Murcia I'll book it again.
Standard AC style hotels, with typical AC interior etc. Good practical location, within walking distance of center (20mins) Must admit, was very surprised with quality of breakfast! I have stayed at many AC Hotels since they joined Marriott and they always dissapoint with bfast! AC Murcia was different and they really put on a nice selection! Other AC Hotels could learn from them! Will definitely be back when in the area...
comfortable and clean spacious rooms in the heart of murcia. The staff were helpful and friendly. I slept well. The food and drinks were average and they spoken some english when i needed to ask some questions about directions.
Great Hotel, location is a brisk 35 mins walk to center but you can always stop at various Bars and Cafes on the way and enjoy the local culture, you can always get a taxi back later or walk off lunch or dinner. Very handy having a big Carrefour store should you need any bits & pieces and a Burger King next to it. Staff - Exceptional and very good service even at 3am asking for some more beers for the room the service was spot on, the Lady who checked me out even popped outside to give me my receipt as I had gone to get the car from the very secure garage again with a smile and wishing me a safe journey. I would recommend this Hotel 100% 10/10 for me, nice comfy beds, very fast internet and a great shower. Many thanks to the Staff who helped to make this a great stay.
The hotel was nice, clean and well situated. You could walk to the city Centre within 25 minutes on a straight line plus there is a tram just outside the hotel. The service was nice and the breakfast very nice. However, internet in the rooms was not complimentary what at this time of the century it should not happen. Overall the hotel it is a nice and affordable place if you are not going to spend many hours "surfing the net".
