Hotel S163.0 out of 5.0

I knew the room wouldn't be luxury but there were stains everywhere and I could barely move. The hotel itself is also like a really depressing hostel. I had to pay upfront for 3 days but I left within 10 minutes of seeing the room. I was polite at reception as there were other customers and I didn't want to make a scene. They told me to cancel through the booking website I'd used (Booking) even though I'd just paid on card. I did, it said I met the terms of the free cancellation. They charged my card and refused to pay back any of the 3 day stay. 1 night, I can understand. All 3 is totally unacceptable. Booking site were no help either. Don't stay here, there are about 5 other hotels on this road alone, they must be better than this.
This hotel is perfect for a 1 night stay. The room is very small, but clean. The bed is ok, where the rom has the size of the bed. A real surprise was the renovated shower with non-swinging temperature. In reneral the hotel seemed renovated and had a nice atmosphere. Coming back late at night showed however the hotel is located in a shimmy neighbourhood. The room was a bit noisy. You could hear a lot of noise of guests on the hall, where some of they were also loud and drunk.
We stayed at the Hotel S-16 in Munich this weekend (27 - 29 January 2017). I must say that it was a really bad experience since there was not hot or warm water in the shower!! We reported that already on Saturday and the receptionist did not do any effort to resolve the issue and did not give us any alternative solution. I find it UNACCEPTABLE that it January with outside temperature -5 degrees, they are not able to deliver hot water for all the weekend! So, I guess they just do not care about the guests! It is not excusable and it is also very sad that hotel does not do anything to compensate this issue. It should be automatic to compensate the clients for missing basic service!
After hearing that hotel prices in Munich were extortionate, I was willing to 'slum it' a bit. This hotel is a great price, and is definitely not on the 'slum it' level. The room was huge, the beds comfy, the bathroom modern and clean - what more could you want? And the location was extremely central - about 5 mins walk from the main railway station. The wifi wasn't great, but that was the only down-side. Be warned that you may see a sight or two walking down this street, as I believe this was the red-light district...
Great location with friendly staff. The room was basic however it was clean, comfortable & quiet (we requested a quiet room). Other reviews mention that the location is unsafe however I never felt unsafe and we often returned to the hotel late at night. The only downsides were the bathroom was a little small and the internet did not work.
After reading the comments here I was more than worried but I was positive surprised. The room was very small about eight squaremeters but very clean. Bathroom and showers the same. The heating works just fine. The linens get changed evry second day. So for the price in Munich it's above average.
I stayed in this hotel for 4 days and it was horrible. First the room was freezing so i got ill. Secondly the hairdryer in the room wasn't working and lastly the internet was so slow. I cannot explain how slow it was!! In the nights when i was trying to go to bed i could hear a weird strange noise, which kept me awake for four days. Another thing about this hotel is that is located on a very scary street on the left side of the hotel there is a striptease club. There are actually several clubs like that on the street. The staff are actually nice but I don't recommend this hotel its not worth the money.
After discounting this hotel because of the very poor reviews we were landed with it through an Expedia mystery (non-refundable, no cancellation) deal. We expected the worse but were pleasantly surprised. Yes the street is "vibrant" but you're in the centre of the city 5 minutes from the main station. Both front desk staff members we encountered were pleasant and helpful. There was no hint of the "vile smells" mentioned in other reviews and we found the hotel to be clean in the desk area, stairs (the lift works fine) and our room 104 at the top of the first flight of stairs. The only minor downside is the noise from any conversation near the stairs flows up. If the previous reviews have prompted changes, that's a good thing. If the hotel was as is, some reviewers need to get out more.
I highly recommend you not to stay in this facility! Its extremely dirty and the manager of the hotel is very unfriendly, not willing to solve any issues and help. I had checked 4 rooms before asking the hotel to cancel the reservation for myself and for my colleague. In all rooms it was a lot of hair: on the bad, on the towels, in the shower, toilet and floor. It was sooo dirty that in 1 room the trash was not cleaned at all, the floor was all in dust. Dark black hair was everywhere: floor, pillows, towels, bed, toilet and bathroom. Strongly recommend not to loose money, staying there.
As we book our trip late and wanted 4 people room the options were limited unless paying huge premium. Many people seem to feel this location unsafe that opinion I don't share. Yes it's shady look and feel but far off unsafe. We received very friendly and good service from start to end. Room was clean and cleaned daily. Only negative was the pillows. Simply awful. Suggestion to management to change the pillows.
